I had the pleasure of listening to Chibueze in KC, and while I enjoy Reeve Carney's take, I feel like Chibueze has like...the type of voice that really makes me believe he'd been touched by the gods. Utterly angelic.
I saw him last night , and his voice is the perfect voice . I love Reeve because his voice is very distinct but Chibueze smoothness in his voice goes perfectly with the genre of music.
I've always loved Hadestown and I of course love Reeve Carney, but hearing Chibueze today brought me to tears every single time he sang. Absolutely perfect for the role. He really convinced me that he was the son of a muse because that man isn't just an incredible vocalist, he's actually a wonderful guitarist too and it shows (Whether or not you could actually hear his guitar parts, you can tell he knows how to play and that just adds so much to the performance)
Chibueze (like Damon) makes me believe the gods would follow and bend to his voice!!! He's so wonderful as Orpheus!!! Saw him in Boston as u/s, and was DELIGHTED when he was promoted to principal, he really deserves it!
The control of anyone who sings Orpheus has to be incredible. And his just is!! The way he glides through every note is just so amazing! Such a beautiful voice!
We saw him in Madison last night. His voice is just astounding - someone needs to record this young man right now. The entire cast blew us away actually - so strong, and better than the Broadway recording imho!
I’ve seen the show three times twice on tour and on Broadway two weeks ago (not to original cast) and I have the same opinion. All were better then original Broadway cast!
Just want to clarify that I did NOT mean that the original cast was lacking in any way! I have the Broadway recording and it is phenomenal, I love it. But the touring cast we saw was just extra special.
@@madisonh5600 Fully agree! I feel so lucky I got to see Chibueze Ihuoma on tour 1.5 years ago...he's still the best Orpheus I've ever heard and I'd give anything to at least have his voice in a cast recording, but I'd even take all the other casts that I've seen too. And I also don't mean anything is "wrong" with the OG cast, just that it doesn't quite compare. I'm seeing the tour again next weekend and hopeful to discover some more hidden talents :-)
This young man is astounding. I have no words for the way his voice made me feel watching this live in ATL. Not a single weak link in this cast. Run, don't walk.
wish it was him on the album 😭 if this gets a proshot wish it’s him who plays orpheus 😭 does anybody have a 🥾 i feel like i’ve tasted nectar for the first time but only a sliver 😭 pls 😭
He and the cast were at Hanover Theater March 28, 2023 and for the rest of the week. Absolutely PHENOMENAL performance by him and the touring cast!!!!!! BRAVO!!!!
I saw this man last night , and all I can say is his voice in real time is so damn good when he sings the epics and all his songs . Damn I need a recording asap
@@Hermes.whistlecouldn’t agree more. I went to go see it on Broadway with Jordan fisher exactly two weeks ago and he was out and he was on as the understudy on Broadway and he was amazing!! My third Orpheus didn’t disappoint a single bit ❤
My wife got us Wed night tickets. Seriously considered going back again over the weekend but our schedules filled up. I've lived here my whole life and seen a BUNCH at the Music Hall, and this was the best production I've ever seen there. The cast was A+ top to bottom. The band, the crew, the set and lighting..the only downside is the Music Hall's awful sound system, but not much fault on Hadestown there... ;)
@@NLaBruiser I agree, I think the closest to rival it I've seen is Phantom, but I love Phantom so that may be bias. It was a perfect production on all levels. I've never left a show so disappointed I'd never get to see this exact cast again.
@@rebeccacrow9427 Hahaha, are we best friends now?? When I say that Hadestown has taken my #1 spot, the previous holder was the 2017 Phantom production that came through. I don't even like Phantom, but it's my mom's favorite show and my wife and I took her for Christmas. It was absolutely stunning.
@@NLaBruiser ahahaha I guess we are now! 😊 Phantom is such a good show, I hope it tours again someday soon. That's another example of a fantastic cast and staging. I think I just assume most people would say Hamilton, which was great, but it didn't have the grandeur of Phantom and now Hadestown.

This is the voice that makes flowers bloom and brings the gods to tears.
when I heard his falsetto for the first time my jaw LITERALLY just dropped. genuinely makes me tear up
i swear chibueze is the perfect blend between reeve and damon (the OG off-broadway orpheus)
He's truly amazing!!
damon epic III was so good, I'm so sad they removed the best parts about the song and simplified the poetry
I saw him last night , and his voice is the perfect voice . I love Reeve because his voice is very distinct but Chibueze smoothness in his voice goes perfectly with the genre of music.
Forget about Jordan fisher, I want a show where he's Orpheus

Now THIS is an Orpheus!! I never connected to reeves voice tbh but THIS is what I was looking for. A hozier ass transcendence
He was my Orpheus! I adored his performance ❤
By far the best version/artist who sang it... just wish he would record it in a studio
His falsetto HAS to be the best I’ve ever heard, I watched Hadestown in Atlanta just yesterday and he made me cry so much!!

I would pay so much to hear his voice live again.

LITERALLY just saw him perform tonight. His falsetto was EVERYTHING! He needs an album ASAP. I could listen to him everyday!
Legit let out a gasp at how beautiful this mans voice was when I saw the tour 😭 thank you for uploading this
I have more actual videos on my page of him! :))
saw him fill in for Reeve on Sunday...he is fucking amazing
Saw him in San Diego and instantly mesmerized. Wish there was a pro recording of him as well.
I saw him 2 days ago in Rochester NY. My God his voice is so enchanting.

This guy was incredible tonight in cleveland.
Just saw it at Playhouse Sq. Loved, loved, loved his voice! All of their voices were truly impressive.
I saw it again last night :)
My first Orpheus, he was so amazing
My third Orpheus!! So good!!
I miss this tour cast! I saw him live and was blown AWAY. I wish i could find a bootleg of the tour cast with him
There are a lot (of him with the first tour cast) but they are only for trading
Saw him live during the tour in my city, he was perfect as Orpheus.
His falsetto is the best out of the two I’ve seen (Reeve and JAR)
His voice makes me want to cry, it’s so beautiful. ❤❤❤❤
Oh he's so good! I hadn't heard anything about him until this video, he sounds so beautiful! This would absolutely bring me to tears in the theatre
He did that to me when I had him as understudy on Broadway two weeks ago. Soo gooddd.

Beyond words.....
i'd kill to have him as the lead broadway orpheus
His voice is flawless…brought me to tears when I went to see this in Atlanta…keep up the great work!
Just saw him perform in Hershey, PA! He's absolutely amazing! The entire site is just fantastic!
I AM SO OBSESSED WITH HIS ORPHEUS
Saw Hadestown in Atlanta. The whole show cast was amazing, but he stood out! Such a beautiful voice.
Just heard this live and it was amazing
I got chills. It was an amazing performance!
I ADORE HIM UGH I COULD DIE
I'm here because I saw this exact picture on Pinterest and was immediately intrigued. And now I think I'm in love??? 😭
I think I saw him when my wife and I watched Hadestown.
Dude I love him more then the original js
thank you for sharing this!
I saw him recently, he and the rest of the cast were amazing man 🥹
Saw him at the end of January was blown away! Sobbing during if it’s true and most of the second act amazing voice!!
i think i have ascended
Been dying for a recording of this! He was my Orpheus and I was absolutely blown away. Would love to see him again 🤍
Saw this last week but one of the u/s performed instead. So sorry I didn’t get to hear him in person. 😕
I'm assuming you saw J. Antonio then, he's great as well definitely but Chibueze is definitely insane to hear in person
