  • Black Canyon, Kolsai Lake and Kaindy lake tour | Saty village | Exploring South East Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
In this video, we are going to explore the beautiful South East Kazakhstan. We are going to explore the beautiful lakes and canyons of Kazakhstan. We Started our journey early in the morning as we are going to have a busy day and it is going to be a journey of 15/16 hours. If you have enough time and days, I recommend you to visit the canyons on the first day, stay overnight at Saty village and visit the lakes on the next day. I am here on a short trip and that's why I opted for a day tour to these places : Black Canyon, Kolsai Lake and Kaindy Lake.
Black Canyon is the deepest canyon in Kazakhstan. It has a great significance due to the unudual dark color of the rocks. It takes approximately2 hours and 48 minutes to reach Black Canyon from Almaty.
We went to Saty village after viditibg Black Canyon and had lunch there. It is a 56 minutes drive from Black canyon to Saty village. Saty is the gateway to zkolsai lakes and Kaindy lakes. The Kolsai lake is about 5 kms away from Saty village.
Kolsai National Park is the ultimate haven for nature lovers, trekking Kolsai Lakes is not to be missed. The three lakes are nestled in emerald green forests below the stunning background of the soaring and snow-capped Tien Shan mountains.
Kaindy lake is just 36 kms away from Kolsai lake and if you are planning to visit Kaindy lake, be ready for some offroad adventure as the road to Kaindy is very rough.
Lake Kaindy is located in the south of Kazakhstan, within Kolsay Lakes National Park. It is located 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) above sea level, 130 kilometres (81 mi) east of Almaty. The lake was formed after an earthquake in 1911, which caused a major landslide, effectively creating a natural dam. Successively, rainwater filled the valley and created the lake. It is one of the most famous natural wonders of Kazakhstan, known for the narrow trunks of the spruce trees that rise up from its eerie blueish color water almost like in a horror movie and therefore some refer to it as the Dead lake of Kazakhstan.
