Must visit places in Almaty, Kazakhstan | Things to do | Explore Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
In this video, I have mentioned some places that you must include in your Almaty itinerary. Well, there are a lot of places to visit in Almaty but if you are here on a short trip, you must visit these places.
1. Independence Monument: The independence monument is located on the Republic Square and is 34 meters high. It was designed by Shota Valihanov and his team.
2.Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen/ Arbat Walking street:
The 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park is an urban park located in east-central Almaty in the area surrounding the Ascension Cathedral
If you keep walking on Panfilov street you will come to the Arbat passage. It is a passage of modern stores and cafes, as well as ZUM (Central shop) or literally central shop of the city. During the day you can see some local painting exhibitions or even order your own caricature or painting. In the evenings there is some street music and a pleasant atmosphere to walk around
3. Ascension (Zenkov ) Cathedral : Known commonly as Zenkov Cathedral, its actual name is Ascension Cathedral. This building is a very popular stop on city tours because of its unique wooden architecture that dates back to pre-Soviet times in the beginning of the 20th century
4.Museum of Musical instruments: This museum was established in 1980 and contains more than 1,000 musical instruments and about 60 kinds of national Kazakh instruments. It is located right next to Panfilov Park and is in a pre-Soviet building that was built in 1908.
5.Rakhat Chocolate Factory : The famous chocolate factory in Almaty that you should never miss.
6.Green Bazaar : Green Bazaar is a central market in Almaty, full of fresh vegetables and fruits. You can try horse meat sausages, local delicacies or buy some spices
7. First President Park: First President's Park is an urban park located in Almaty at the intersection of Navoi Street and Al-Farabi Avenue in the Bostandyq District in the south of the city. The park was opened in July 2010, and was named after the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev
8. Botanical Garden : The Main Botanical Garden of Kazakhstan, located in Almaty, is a unique destination that offers not only a picturesque landscape for leisurely strolls but also serves as a significant institute for botany and phytointroduction
9.Republic Palace / Dostyk Avenue: Palace of the Republic is a concert hall building located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Outside, with the fountains on the square in front of the Palace and the monument of the Kazakh poet Abai, Palace of the Republic is one of the main known attractions of Almaty from the Kunaev era. The building is located at the Abai Square in cross road section of Dostyq and Abai Avenue. It is considered as a monument based on an urban planning and architecture since January 26, 1982.
10. Kok Tobe Hill: Kok Tobe is a nice place to enjoy summer evenings and enjoy the panoramic views of the city. It is a popular place for locals to go in the evening to watch the sunset and the night view of the city. In the evening, the temperature gets cooler and it is very pleasant to spend time there after a hot day in the city.
11. Almaty Television tower : The Almaty TV Tower formally the Koktobe TV Tower is a 371.5-metre-high steel television tower in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The tower is located on high slopes of Kok Tobe mountain
12.Trading House Passage: If you are looking for some Kazakhstan souvenirs all, you can visit this place.
13. Huns Ethno Village : The best place to learn about the Nomadic lifestyle of Kazakh people.
14. Black Canyon: The deepest Canyon in Kazakhstan.
15. Kolsai Lake : Kolsai National Park is the ultimate haven for nature lovers, trekking Kolsai Lakes is not to be missed. The three lakes are nestled in emerald green forests below the stunning background of the soaring and snow-capped Tien Shan mountains.
16. Kaindy Lake: The lake is famous for the number of dead and bleached spruce trees that stick out of the water

18. Almaty metro: Almaty's Metro is a sight to behold as each station is an intricate work of art
