We are only a couple of days away from the biggest Pokemon TCG set of the year - Scarlet and Violet 151
This set has been an absolute blast to open and although it has a few downfalls, the artwork and chase are absolutely amazing. Pokemon pull rates on this set seem a little bit lack luster compared to previous specialty sets, but they still seem well in line with what we are used to seeing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
So how many packs did it take us to complete the Master Set for Pokemon 151? What was the toughest card to pull? Let's talk about it all!

Dang that's impressive. I think 151 will be the first set that I want to actually try and complete a master set. Honestly after 151 I hope they do a special set like this for every generation!!! I would be so hyped.
I would love a set for gen 2 I feel like this generation has been forgotten about.

I pulled the entire Squirtle line in a single pack and was beyond shocked ! I had no idea it was that uncommon wow !
Never got to complete my original set as a kid, so I'm determined to complete this one. Pull rates have me skeptical though, might have to just buy singles

Only found out about this set yesterday (through you and the magic of algorithms), and had to instantly pre-order a bunch of boosters. These will be my first cards since childhood, and I can't wait to try to catch em all!
I don't do master sets, but I might do at least a semi-master set for this one where I have all the common cards and a handful of the more expensive/rare ones.
Dang! I opened 266 packs and pulled all but 12 cards, all of which will cost me less than $20 to buy, and 1 of those 12 is the reverse holo Poliwhirl! I had great luck with 151. Batching is crazy, and it's why I set a limit of how many packs I'll open before stopping and buying/selling/trading for the others I need.
I walked away from pokemon TCG after my stepmom threw away and gave away my collection 10 years ago and my sisters friends stole what I had left, but the 151 set got my interest, so I'm trying to jump back into it and gotta say your videos are helping a lot with knowledge about the current state of Pokemon TCG! Love your stuff and thanks for putting out the videos you do!

Honestly, my excitement died with the abysmal pull rates. I'll pick up a few cards (probably pay through the nose) but I doubt I buy a single pack of this set.

When it comes to this set, I absolutely love the illustration rares for it, but I wish they had done the masterball holo rares that they did for the JP version. I may just get the ones I want, but a full master set... not sure if I want to spend money on getting it.

I also like to put them next to each other. I also put an energy card next to the ex card, so i keep the 2-2 structure in the binder 😂.

I don’t collect Pokemon and haven’t bought any cards since base set 2 and jungle way back in the day. This set has got me hyped again to complete the master set and gotten me back on the Pokemon train in general. Love the OG’s and nostalgia this set delivers!

Ripped a Poster box and 2 ETBs with my nephew this evening and hit a Demi-god pack containing the Bulbasaur line! We were hyped but now I’m psyched considering how rare they are!
hit rates of 1 per 3 packs seem right about on average for the S&V sets

In regards to how you put your cards in the binder. I just added a holo element card to the 2nd slot for the ex cards since there is only one copy, to keep the card flow the same throughout my binder. Love this binder though saw it on one of your videos and found it for myself!
I personally do master sets in 2 different 9 slot binders. With the second binder being reverse holos with duplicate ex cards filling the holes. Great information!

I opened about 210 packs this weekend and I am only missing 29 cards which I'll just buy singles for. Could have probably opened 100 and bought the rest cheaper but it was fun. Out of 210 only one gold and it was the energy of course

When I put my binders together I ignore the list order for ex's and stuff so I group all the regular cards together with their reverse then ill do all the ex together ect keeps everything side by side and looks way nice IMO to just have a full page of exs
I probably wouldn't be able to do it, so it's always nice to see a completed set! 🤩

I set my master sets up the exact same way. The set sleeves make sense but of course take away from the card to me. Awesome video

My set is taking up 2 binders. Promos included. I do side by side too. Plus every card gets a top loader. This is my favorite set ever. So much nostalgia.

In one ETB, I got a god pack of the bulbasaur line and another pack with SIR Giovanni. So probably depends on the case?

i like doing rev holos next to the regular commons but i also want to include all the promos & fit them in a 9 slot binder 😅

Do you know what the total amount of cards is? I want to use to use the Binder they give but like you mentioned it wont work. The reason I ask is I want to buy a 3 sleeve page instead of a 4 like you have.

Can someone help me understand something please. What I don't understand about the "master set" is when collecting and following with the ETB and ticking away which cards you have. Do some cards not have a non Holo version ? For example vaporeon, flareon and jolteon. In order to complete the master set do you need a Holo and a Reverse Holo to actually fill the master set requirements? Or do you get 1 X non Holo and 1 X Reverse Holo OR Holo ?

A local LGS had these in early and we picked up several ETB's. Kids were so disappointed in that they got hardly any real hits. Just strange how Pokemon operates with very little rhyme or reason. Crown Zenith was awesome with hits. Obisdian Flames was crazy with hits. It seems like 151 is going to be quite different, so it will be interesting to see how the singles prices go, as well as if people get frustrated and slow down purchases of sealed product? I am guessing they are going to print the heck out of this set, but it will be interesting to see where the market goes with this. Still have no idea why they didn't have the master ball cards in the English set. That really makes no sense to me.
Batching is a thing. I swear it is. eg. we pulled two Glaceon VMAX alt arts and 3 Golurk V alt arts out of a case of ES ETB's. I've seen weird stuff like this in other things as well.
Speaking of weird cards that are hard to pull. We had the entirety of the normal set completed for Fusion Strike , (reverse holos, rare, holo rare, ultra rare, and full arts) before we finally pulled a common Pansage #7/264..
I can't wait to start collecting this set. It looks really awesome.

Going to wait on buying singles as this will be heavily printed going into the holidays + looking to get all common, uncommon, rares, reverse, and holos from my local card shop as they expect to get bulk trade ins. I’d rather pay a slight premium sorting thru bulk than opening 50 packs, let alone 500. As for the SIR and big hits, I will also wait for this set to settle down much like Crown Zenith did
Can the binder from the 151 binder collection fit sleeved cards?
I do my master sets the same exact way! I also add extra reverse holos of my favorites in the back...this set will be the mewtwo rev holo. The reverse I never pulled in OF was the palafin including the palafin ir...had to buy them.
Do you think they will print more sv 151 since it's sold out everywhere?
I usually only open 144 packs and buy the rest to complete a master set in a 504 zip binder. That way other related cards such as non holo rares are added as well as a change in energy design or foil versions. 😊
