Description: This is the scene where Rick Grimes finds Lori and Carl again after being separated from them in his coma
Thank you all so much for the support, and as always, let's continue to grow our community!! - Hudba
If Shane could have just let things go and allow Rick to have his family back, then Shane and Rick could have been an unstoppable team. smh
Shane, rick, and Daryl would’ve just destroyed anyone that came at them
It wasn't Shane it was Lori that screwed that up.
@@CarrotFlowers421 Yup Lori tried to kill Rick.

What really sells it for me is at 1:19 where Rick gestures at his family, but the building emotion robs him of words. Andrew Lincoln does such a damned fine job here - a solid scene all around.
I have watched this scene about a million times and it legitimately never fails to make me cry-
The acting is phenomenal with all three of them, it truly feels like we’re witnessing a family reunite after they thought they’d lost each other.
I’m a huge film buff and I’ve seen, studied, and dissected hundreds (if not thousands) of movies and tv shows, but _this scene?_ This scene has _never_ left my mind.

And that one family which separated from them later on
Lots of people always say Shane wasn't happy to see Rick. I say they are only half right. Rick was Shane's best friend, his partner as a Sheriffs deputy. They grew up together and went to hell and back for each other. Shane was happy Rick was still alive, because it meant his best friend was back, but that also put guilt in his mind for sleeping with Lori, and he had also fallen in love with her because he had thought Rick was dead. There was gunfire and walkers and soldiers killing people, honestly he did the best he could, if he hadn't put the gurney there walkers would have come in and eaten Rick. If Lori hadn't gotten it in Shane's head that the baby might be his, the fight he and Rick had might have been the thing to fix their friendship. I don't know, just my opinion.
Yeah the narrative that Shane was a bad guy needs to stop, he had his issues but Lori messed with his head so bad after Rick came back, Shane tried everything to get Rick to wake up and even blocked the door from anyone getting in, Shane even said in the episode where Shane and Rick find a place to drop off Randall he never looked at Lori before the apocalypse and he would do anything to go back
I also believe Shane was never going to kill Rick after Randall he just was tierd of himself being alone and looked at as a bad person because he was ahead of his time so he wanted Rick to become the man Shane was and kill him, Jon bernthal actually made an ending of Rick trying to use Shane’s pistol on a walker and finds out it was empty
@@Johnhargrove18 2messed with his head" i understand now the mind of so many trastorned guys.

these Darabonts crew was just so talented
This scene sealed it for me. At that point I knew it was something special and loved the show since.
Cause the show was basically depression porn (in it's early seasons) and these little moments of hopefulness were relieving

@@TipoIrritable yes
And when (don't get mad at for forgetting names; I have nerve pain and meds make me .. just empty brain) the little girl (Carol's daughter) comes out of the barn, as a walker, is one of the worst scenes. You found her, but you can't turn back time and you can't save her. Just as when they found out Carl had been bitten and couldn't be saved .. worst scenes in all of the episodes.
The acting in this scene is great. You can see how happy Shane is, but how bummed out he is at the same time.
Sarah Wayne Callie’s performance is super underrated in this scene, you can see her initial shock that he’s alive, then she gets very emotional and happy, then as soon as you see her look at Shane she is filled with intense guilt and immediately starts sobbing in sadness because of what she did while also hugging him close because he is her love and she feels sorry. All in a span of seconds. Really good job here.
I also really love Shane's performance and how complex it is. You can see how he feels genuinely happy and disappointed at the same time at the sight of Rick's arrival. You can see Shane genuinely smile then switch to faking a smile in seconds, it's brilliant
That’s not sadness when she’s looking at him that’s rage she knows he lied to her. She knows he abandoned her husband and made her think he was dead. She’s pissed.
Wtf how is it underrated? It’s amazing and shows her talent at emotions.
Shane did not abandon Rick at the hospital. Didn't you see the chaos inside? He genuinely tried to save him but couldn't. Of course he would assume Rick didn't make it. He didn't lie to get to Lori, it was all based on their circumstances, not betrayal.
@@susanpark3451wrong!
I love how Andrew fell on his knees when he hugged Chandler, a very real reaction any parent would have after finding their family by sheer luck out of all that confusion and mess
You can see Shane was so happy and glad to see him regardless.
Fr....such a stark contrast to how he's looking at him in episode 12 of season 2
@@TheWarleader Are you talking about “I don’t think you can keep them safe!”?
As much I love Rick's reunion with Judith and meeting RJ, I wish it had the same kick like this moment.
It couldn’t though because Rick is a stranger to them Judith and RJ. Judith barely remembers him because she was so young when he died, and RJ’s never met him. He’s a mythical figure come to life for them. For me, the Judith/RJ/Rick meeting is sentimental in its own way. I was overjoyed Rick was united with those kids. He can now get to know them. With Carl, it hits different because Carl knew his dad. The run, the shout ….it all makes sense. RJ being shy and nervous makes sense!
I personally love both reunions for different reasons.
Shanes face he was Like oh No he returned Now i cant have Lori
I love the acting showing his inner conflict of seeing his best friend again but realizing what that means for him
He was just SHOCKED because, in all honesty, he really thought Rick was a goner. He did what he could, but if he had stayed any longer with Rick @ the hospital, they both would've been goners. So awesome to see Shane's face tell a million stories with just one facial expression.
@@bamagalforever ye but he became crazy later
Nah I was happy and sad 😔
@@danielpalmkrona6007 not crazy, he's playing it realistically since everyone including Rick was still soft at that point of the story, looking at Rick in later seasons he really become like Shane.

I forgot what a crazy scene this was!! And it’s so much more intense with the sound like this. Awesome job that you did this 🙌🏼
Thank you!! I think so too. I love uploading alot of the scene without music like this. It makes them so much more enjoyable to watch I think, cause you're actually getting to hear more natural sounds rather than just the music and background noise

The moment that really sells this for me is Rick's involuntary reaching out with his hand at 1:20.
Totally
he probably acted out emotions the best out of anyone on the show for me, really sold everything
You know a show Is amazing when you start crying in 3rd episode only , after watching 11 seasons , I appreciate this scne 100 times more
It draws you back to that moment . . . (Words cannot describe some of these feelings right now) . . . Rick is the only one alive from this scene of the original group. It's funny how long everyone came. Daryl and carol are the only from this group still having screen time.
i can’t believe carl used to be this little omg
Everytime I watch this scene, I can't help but wish we got a glimpse of Glenn's face when he realized the guy he rescued from the tank was the husband and father of two people back at his camp
It is illegal for an actor like him not to receive any sort of award. His acting is truly amazing ❤️
Enough to make a grown man cry 😭
Damn straight
the way shane smiles at rick makes me really mourn their friendship. if they had solved their issues, they would’ve been an undestroyable team
They did Chandler Riggs so dirty. I'd have watched a Carl spin-off no questions asked. He got shot in the abdomen. Shot in the eye. Yet he survived and kept fighting. They did him so dirty...
What makes the scene so powerfull is that there is no talking or noise after Rick reveals himself. Only speechless reactions and happy tears from Rick.
It's been years... So many years since I first saw this episode and I have seen this scene so many times... And I still cry like baby....
The real emotion in this is just amazing
As I guy who's close with his dad, hearing Carl just shout "Dad!" almost brings waterfalls to my eyes.
This scene got me tearing up so much when I saw this the first time.
Reactions from everyone at the sight was amazing, not realizing that Rick's family was there at the camp site
I remember..
Back in 2014 when I was only 12, I’d watch TWD on my Xbox via Amazon prime.
My step dad would be sitting by me as we’d watch each and every episode that was on prime.
This particular scene made me and him tear up, I could feel my heart ache in happiness.
It’s now 2024, “TheOne’sWhoLive” series has just concluded, I’m now 22 and *still* I tear up to their reunion.
went back to this after watching rick reunite with rj and judith😬 damn jus imagine if it was carl who walked up that hill not bum ass rj
RJ is just a kid what did he do lmao
He did it again
Pretty much everyone in this scene eventually died apart from Rick.
I always tear up at this scene
He looked like he was too scared to even look whether they were there or not, but then when he did see them alive, it was like so much relief and happiness
Shane was the most shocked for real. He witnessed the power go out, machines shut off, and a lifeless Rick laying in a hospital bed.
Man I feel so dumb coming back and watching this every now and then but this scene really hits different being a father now. I remember watching this when I was barely in Highschool and all I cared about was zombies. Now I’m a Dad and every time I see Rick’s face when he sees his boy I get teary eyed. He’s completely encapsulates the love between a father and son in this scene.
This is one of my favorite moments in television history
Totally agree with comments pertaining to this being one of the most amazing scenes of the series. A moment when the show hooked most of us in. It’s funny was rewatching this the other day thinking there was something electric and amazing about the real weight to the acting here and expressions throughout the cast. First season always in my heart as the best.
Everyone in this dead or don't have no more screentime
Who’s here after the last episode 🥲?
This reunion was so much better than the one in the ones who live.
No fr man. I’m sure they just rushed it because fans were tired after the last five seasons of the main show.
Both reunions were both good, 👍
@@LuvNikNac They rushed because they got no idea how to write a scene and how to best spend their budget. THIS, is how you do a reunion properly. THIS, is how you direct a scene without making it cheesy.
TWOL one was obviously gonna be different cause he’s been taken so long Judith probably only has some limited memories of him and RJ has Never met his dad before.
Still weird that Shane didn't just tell Rick he thought he was dead and that he did everything to save him in case he woke up, right then and there...
The Best scene in all series.
I WOULD KILL TO SEE THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN

Well that was fast.
@John Figuracion 😈
Yeah I thought it would take a few episodes or maybe a whole season
Every time I hear the music, I tear up. I don't even have to see the scene, I tear up just from the music. I love this scene
When Carl was crying, you can hear Laurie saying, "It's okay to miss your daddy." My heart
This scene and Rick and Daryl’s reunions are two of my favorites ❤
I will always tear up at this scene bc I remember being Carl’s age having lost their dad; and would shout just like he did if my dad just showed up out of nowhere.
Dude, this scene. This. Freaking. Scene. :') Revisiting The Walking Dead in its prime is truly a sight to behold.
Watching this scene and then watching the final scene of twd with all but carol, Darrel, and Rick being gone gives chills
I come back to this clip every now and it still gives me goosebumps. Powerful fucking scene.
Best scene in the show. Even today get me chills and i want to cry.😢
This is my FAVORITE scene ever bro 😭😭
The acting in this scene from everyone is fantastic. Jon Bernthal and Sarah Callies both look conflicted; happy that Rick is alive but worried about its implications for their burgenoning relationship. Andrew Lincoln does an incredible job at portraying what it feels like to be overwhelmed by emotions all at once - losing the ability to speak and just gesturing. Chandler was also a great actor at such a young age, you can really feel the relief and joy when he calls out for his dad. Easily one of the best scenes in the show.
First three seasons the emotion and acting was elite and superior to the newer seasons. It’s crazy to think that everyone in this scene is literally dead outside Carol who you see a glimpse of. Daryl isn’t even in this scene so it shows how their roles were much smaller than now.
It’s just ridiculous to think Rick left his own show and the show still acts it’s own show. AMC is just so cheap man.
i was so sad that Rick left like this is a stretch but I hope he is secretly alive and comes back😭 that may sound absolutely ridiculous but I miss him fr. but idk cuz I feel like that would be unrealistic. but i mean it’s rick grimes lol.

I don't care what anyone says. Lori loved Rick. Especially right before she dies, she looks up and whispers, "Goodnight, love." Because she didn't have time to say goodbye to him. And that gets my tears every time.
