If only carl was there with them
Fr every single time I see a scene like this I think, damn I wish Carl was there.
But this is the walking dead… this isn’t a happy ending. In a few months times some psycho who is somehow immune to walker bites and scratches will show up and wreck things again.
And lori, and shane 😂
@@RqbltNo, those two can have each other but Carl was one of the most important characters of the show and killing him off was a dumb move.

Yeah. The most painful part were the memories of his loved ones fading away and the slow fear/acceptance that he'll never see them again. Kinda like Judith said in 11x05 'I'm worried I'll forget them'. That's what happened with Carl as Rick said.
Then he is finally home and needs Michonne's help to recognise his kids. He never got to see them grow up. But he may be there for them now.
One thing I also hope in other spin-off shows (like Daryl) is the reaction of others to Rick's return and not just skip to several weeks later. Even if it is in a flashback, it'll so be worth it given what he meant to them and how lost many of them were without him.

Did you guys know that Carl said the same thing to Rick once, it was a meaningful moment.
Nice Easter Egg, but I feel the final line should have just been "Because we're the ones who live" to show he learned his mother's courage and determination while Rick was "dead" and his mother just vanished.
That helps to know, actually. I never caught that. People really are dragging RJ through the mud 😩
I can't place when Carl said that but somehow I knew he did.
@@darshura8429 But how would RJ had known that unless Michonne told him? He's only 8 and not Riggs. He deserves to be viewed in his own rights.I read the actor is reserved. He certainly favors Rick,so maybe that's why he was hired. I think his smile is sweet. "I believe" statement connects him to what Judith used to tell him-to believe and to the phones with the pictures of her Judith on it, with the writing: to believe a little longer which was told to Rick by the young man who did those phone drawings.
@@kevinwalsh9788 I think he said that in season one after Rick returned or around that time
Best moment of this whole scene is Rick and Judith hugging with the music and everything. Kind of bittersweet cause last time he saw her she was just a toddler and now she’s almost the same height as him
Yeah, it's really sad. She was such an awesome little kid! The reunion between them was all I wanted to see from this series. Super glad they gave us that 🙂
She was 4.
Thinking of it from Judiths perspective. The last time she saw him was when she was very young, so she barely remembers him, she knows he was there protecting her with the group and later Michonne, and she might slightly remember his face, but not completely, now after 6 years she sees him for the first time, after all these years knowing he was there but barely remembering him, this is what got me.
It's been atleast 8 years since she last saw Rick
RJ said more in this one scene than the entirety of TWD 😂
Your comment actually made me laugh out loud 😂
But he does have potential he will have his badass phase like carl.
Wonder why 🤔
Wait ik, his acting is shat
This scene made me realize exactly lmao
Shoulda just made him mute 😭😐
RJ’s emotionless face in that end scene makes Carl’s acting look god tier. People hated Chandler Riggs for his “acting” and being a “Whiney kid” which is part of his character. I bet people take it back now and miss Carl. Always loved Carl and it sucked so bad the way he got killed off.
Man i wished it was Carl and Judith running up to their dad. That would be have been 1 emotional scene.
I think it was kinda "spot on".
Rick is a total stranger to RJ, Michonne told him about his "dad" but that was pretty much it.
Even what he got from Judith was mostly legends because when he vanished Judith was barely old enough to really remember him.
And yes I do think that this scene is like it is because the kid is not a good actor, but given the situation I think it worked great that it looked like he barely understood the importance that Rick has for his "family".
How was he supposed to act to a strange man he's never met lol? His acting still isn't good but he wouldn't be showing a bunch of emotions here anyways. Chandler even said his acting wasn't the best on this show and I really don't miss him at all. I do hate how his last bit of story made absolutely no sense. He went from wanting to kill Negan in a bad way at the end of season 7 to wanting to spare everyone at the beginning of season 8 which was only a few days apart from each other.. so I guess anyone's acting wouldn't be top tier when they don't know how they're supposed to be.

This is end of Rick's story. Danai, and Andrew both came back to conclude his story, he found his family it's a full circle climax. The Ones Who Live takes place in 2022, and Daryl Dixon takes place at the same time as Rick's return which is in 2022, so Daryl Dixon takes place in the same year, Carol finds Daryl and they both inevitably return home before 2022. Dead City takes place 6 years after THE ONES WHO LIVE in 2028. Rick has been living happily with his family in Virginia for 6 years when Negan and Maggie arrive in New York. Once, that spin-off ends all of the stories of the characters who are still alive from the original show have been told. I personally believe that Negan will finally be forgiven by Maggie, but he will lose his life in a sacrifice play to save Hershel or Maggie.

So many people commenting about RJ's acting. Here's my initial view on why his acting was like this:
RJ never really had any contact with Rick aside from the stories he heard from his family and community, all he viewed Rick was a legend who saved their community and pulled everyone back together. He never had a father figure or emotional attachment to Rick and the producers would have noticed this since this is the final scene and they had to make it epic and emotional and everything should be perfect, but they also understood the real psychology and emotional they had to apply to this because it would even be more weirder if RJ cries out of joy or worse sobs when he really hasn't had any emotional attachment to Rick in the first place.
I think the actors and producers did a great work and just to share my views on the acting also.

It's okay, he's starting to believe.
It’s not the end until Daryl and Rick are together again. We need the bromance! 😢
😔 they havent seen each other for like eight years or something
Honestly I don’t mind ending the series here. The story Rick has gone through all these years has been greatly developed and I’m glad he just came back home to his kids and now has a whole family. Sure it ain’t a reunion with his group and especially daryl, but this ending I don’t mind at all.
For you Mom❤ I remember you talking about this show & Judith when you used to call.
I miss you😢❤
Rj is not Giving like carl 😢
they shouldnt have killed Carl’s character off. you can tell it wasnt the original plan
Truly the most rewarding clip of the whole franchise!!!!
So needed that fix. Watched this. Loved this. Cried. Needed it. They should just keep on filming. Wish Carl and Daryl was there, and carol.
This is kinda awkward bruh
These writers man…
very
give this kid an oscar
RJ:🤖
Damn, who would’ve thought. A reason to finally watch TWD again.
That was the most beautiful moment I’ve seen in a long time
I thought rick was bit by the way he was shaking on the helicopter 😭
RJ actor is not acting like one
I always thought he was disabled.
@@Detix-roryLOL! 😂😂😂
@@Detix-rory holy shit dude 😂😂😂, lemme act real shocked by that statement, but actually... same
Wasn’ expecting them to reunite so soon.
“You can call me dad” 🥲
My only issue here was rj. His acting in the scene took me out of it. Still awesome scene
sure did
They had a chance to recast or even better train RJ's actor, and they still went with that emotionless wooden plank?
unbelievable, he even looks directly at the camera at 2:22
@@joqkidroblox2598 Fucking hell you're right
“wooden plank” LMAO
I thought I was going nuts with all these positive comments how they are all amazing actors.
@@joqkidroblox2598 Like a scene out of The Office lol
R J - " Where is the milk "dad"?
I just realized.. Michonne and us viewers both waited exactly six years to see Rick again. Kinda blows my mind
So cheesy but I’m glad we got Rick back!!!
Can’t believe we’ve been hoping and waiting for this scenes forever and they put in the worst and corniest dialogue I’ve ever heard😂
I want Rick to learn about Negan and how he saved Judith and everyone else. I don't know if we'll ever get that, but what a scene seeing Rick and Negan meet up would be.
"i knew it dad, i knew you were still out there" 😊😊
Now i wanna see Rick and Daryl reunite
