I've worked on this length of line for 30 years, this is the first time that I have seen it from a drivers perspective. I will say it takes somewhat longer to walk though lol. Nice videos, thanks.

The high pitch beep Is the AWS, at a green signal it will 'ping' and at cautionary (yellow) or red signals, it will be a 'horn' sound that the driver will have to cancel, otherwise the emergency brakes will apply within a few seconds.

Really makes a change to see this, been upfront so many times on the ECML and most drivers on that route are stuck up their own arse , as i can tell your an ex BR driver, good to see a Driver sharing his job with the public, hell the amount of times ive ridden upfront i wouldn't be surprised if ive been upfront with you, stay safe my friend and if you want a companion anytime im off duty i will tag along.

Hi, thanks for getting back in touch. I've got a large interest in transport in general, ships, trains, planes, buses, trucks, bikes etc. That's fascinating, must be high class if the brakes are applied automatically, I'm guessing it's if (God forbid), the driver took ill, this might sound like a silly question but is it tought driving a train, like could you compare it with driving a double decker bus with a full load of passengers for 10 hours a day, I can imagine it being pretty tough like..

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

    Thanks Mate

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

    yes

Its both easy and Hard driving a train, you have to know route knowledge, signal Knowledge and a hell of a lot of health and safety info. but once are confident with everything the job is easy, its just a case of pushing buttons and pressing leavers. I supose its same as driving a bus in a way.

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

bet its a trek to walk lol, Thanks!

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

Thanks, afraid I don't have the full route but im trying to get Leeds - London all the way and at some point I may be able to do Newcastle to Doncaster

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

I will try to get more footage of the ECML. Glad you liked it!

I wonder what the Class 91 sounds like at 140 MPH...…(yet alone 161.7 MPH, the record).

Well done Sir! I agree with the request that you might like to do the rest of the journey for us! If you contact me I'll gladly loan you a camera with high definition, although I realise it takes time to upload the HD! From what I could see and hear there was little pantograph bounce or skitter. Says something for the quality of the overhead maintenance doesn't it? Thanks for an excellent video. More please! Rob.

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

    Will try for you

Hi, I'm a 24 year old bus driver for Stagecoach North East, love being on the road and always wanted to become a bus driver, we have beeps in the cab when our brake pressure is down and when the kneeling facility on the bus is down but what's the beeps in your cab, the constant beeps that are going off. I'm interested in transport in general but are those beeps like safety beeps to tell you, well I don't know exactly, ha?

    • @binarysignals9593
      @binarysignals9593 Před 3 lety

Did you ever work it out? They are beeps to make sure the driver is awake and acknowledges the next signal.

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

I will try but can't promise if I can. I cant give you a date either.

  • @blackrider21

Oh and i work for Network rail lol

  • @Banjostrings07Productions

you are suppose to report any person that is line side to the signal man or station staff who will then alert the BTP. The BTP will then remove and maybe even prosecute the offender. personally I don't mind if they go line side as long as they are not being stupid like playing on the track or messing about.
