- In this video I meet up with my good friend Guy former owner of the legendary Kensington Video here in SD for some Laserdiscs!!

I loved it. Takes me back to when i had a laser disc player from 1991-2001. I had a pioneer cld-1070. My first movie was Goodfellas. I had so many movies. My player gave out. It needed an alignment i should've gotten it. Dvd was around at the time. So i got a dvd player instead. I miss my laserdisc player i had silence of lambs, terminator 2, thelma & louise, pulp fiction criterion, the craft, the crow, texas chainsaw massacre 2 from elite entertainment, boogie nights, morgan Stewart's coming home. I had so many movies. A great episode really takes me back and lana turner one of the most beautiful women in cinema i would love to see one of her films in 4k. I now have a 4k player and a 65 inch 4ktv. Have a great day.

Nice finds. Another CZcamsr, Oliver Harper, loves Laserdiscs. I don't think I've ever owned a Laserdisc nor a Laserdisc player, but I can see that they are the precursor to our current day "DVDs" and "Blu-Rays". Also props to guy for that awesome "I Love Lucy" animated poster thing, I remember catching reruns of that show on Nick at Nite when I was a kid.

My aunt and uncle were/are medical doctors and I still remember watching Star Wars (and I believe) Empire on Laserdisc at their house when I was little and the tech was new and super expensive... it was a really treat I probably didn't fully appreciate at that young age.

@@cinestalker I grew up in the neighborhood The Ken Cinema next door was also a favorite of mine I was lucky enough to watch Suspiria there with my girlfriend another time we went to see the Warriors I forgot my glasses in the car so I ran out to get them there was a group of guys putting vests & wigs on lol they entered the Theatre Rocky Horror picture style & reenacted some of the scenes Warriors come out to play the guy playing sully even had beer bottles on his fingers it was awesome

I know it’s been a crazy week for me with the movie finds something I would never expect I luv it! I hope to pick up a laserdisc someday to play these and watch on that format that’ll be amazing!

Good video. I have been collecting laserdiscs for a long time. Terminator is a good laserdisc to get as it is in the original mono soundtrack and letterbox. You will find that laserdiscs give better sound than a lot of dvds and blu rays.
That’s what I heard the sound n pic quality is truly great on laserdiscs still to this day n even more superior to today’s Blu-ray’s. So fun checking em out and we’ll be back for more

Yeah it’s a amazing week for myself with the movie pickups / findings. I went the following night and picked up about 20 more tapes and I checked last night but it was all gone now. I know a few people went there from my video but then the dump truck must of came to get the rest

I love A Bronx Tale so much, and The Dark Crystal was a favorite growing up. Oh man Tales from the Darkside. Man of a Thousand Faces is a great movie. Guy seems like a cool dude 👍

Hi cinestalker I had no idea you collected laserdiscs or do you?? So yeah I have slightly over a hundred. And I really love the format despite the poor picture quality. I don't get the same butterflies feeling with other formats at all. You should have grabbed Westworld!! Dude why didn't you just grab a hundred of these discs??? 😂 Anyway love this video, hope your doing well today.

This is really cool, I’m already addicted to 33 and 78 and I started getting into DVD but I hate all the new crap when digging and ultimately I want to collect the classics so this may be right up my ally.

It's crazy to see how many laserdiscs they managed to release before the format went on to Movie Heaven. VHS completely dominated the market here in Europe.

I would not think you would want to keep laser discs in a garage due to temperature fluctuations. Do you have to worry about laser rot or a lot of them are you just buying for the covers and don’t really care?
They all some in good n like new condition so they are fine. I don’t have a player so for now just cover art
