Love that bed frame guys ...brilliant!! I have a similar setup ...but my bed frame is all one piece, and lifts off. And when parked on a bit of an angle, i have different size blocks that i use to prop up and raise individual corners of the frame, to make the bed level. But I'm sure you could find a way with your setup. Something to think about maybe ...?? 😀

Sed an 8'x4' 3/4 plywood shheet & routered slots in it for the bead and salvaged bed piston bed frame to lift up for access

I’ve used a jigsaw for over 10years working in the building trade and never needed safety glasses when working with wood.

Hi very entertaining as usual just a thought to people where you put the shower kitchen log burner tanks batteries etc try to balance the weight either side to make the vehicle sit level and help with handling 👍

The only issue with the shower being opposite to the kitchen is that it makes the space look small, blocking the view between the front and back of the van. but I understand you are keeping the peace. a wise move 🤣
Maybe I miss understand but are you not worried about smells from the grey water tank if you locate it on a straight run directly below the shower tray? What about a U bend or one way waste trap and offsetting the tank a little and enter it from the side rather than straight in from above.
We will mainly be off grid in the wild and using natural organic products, so majority of the time the water will be draining straight out onto the ground. It’s only when we are in an urban area that we will connect the tank - so it will be used far less ❤

Mud flaps on the front off the water heater and especially at the back of the water tank to stop the back lash from the tryes.

I have used this method in the past with my other vans and never have had any issues whatsoever
So you have to do 2,500 trips to your bed from the passenger seat to do your 10,000 steps a day 😂

@@BigVanSmallWorld They are actually quite good. One on its own can support an adult's weight. They telescope to become smaller. The only issue arises when you fit the bed slats and screw them onto these beams; they become permanent.
They are amazingly strong.
@BigVanSmallWorld flimsy 🤔 I got 175cm on 200 bed on them and it's solid defo much stronger then the wood but every one do different 😁🤘
The ikea slats are a good option if you want a solid bed, but we both prefer to use wood for any building project. It’s easily adapted and can be reused. Also we want it to be removable and so the wood option is the best choice for us 🙌🏻🫶🏻

I recently watched a van conversion and by the time the couple had finished with all the extras they had enough space for a half a meter of seat each and they were going to do “van life”.

Are you considering doing a recirculation shower for your luxurious camper van
No plans to at this point
We won’t be doing a recirculation shower as will be using the shower to wash off our metal detecting gear, any finds and also sandy wetsuits and gear. Neither of us fancy washing with that same water for weeks afterwards 😝
Hi Mel I see your putting your heater at the back of your van I did that to mine but made the mistake of putting my pump down there with the heater this has not gone well as if you go that the pumps to far from the fuel tank at the front are you using the fuel tank if so 2m max to the pump
Hi thanks for sharing your experience with us I always place the pump as close to the diesel heater as possible and in this case I have a separate tank that I have placed in the rear of the van so all ok 👍

There’s an inspection hole in the tank that I will use to clean the debris out of 👍
3:45 why not put the shower in the doorway covered by duckboard? This gives somewhere for wet clothes & boots but otherwise remains uncluttered & occupies no space. Obviously screening will have to be retractable somehow, perhaps just a curtain.

Thank you for your encouragement it’s actually called reality the reality of building a camper and needing to pay for it as you build it plus I’m helping other people with their builds to here in the barn unfortunately I can’t film everything that goes on here as there’s music playing in the background and I can’t have that because of copyright so I make no apologies if you don’t want to watch my videos then don’t it’s no problem I’ll still continue to film and the work will get done eventually and soon enough I’ll be having the time of my life exploring and hunting for treasure and yes I’ll be filming that too and you are welcome to watch my future videos too even though I make them for my enjoyment so I can look back at them and remember what an awesome life I’ve had.
