    That's the big question... Do I want to risk running into trouble and screwing this up...or do I avoid those risks and pay the extra $2,000 for a pre-built with a system wide warrantee... 🤔

    • @BodhiTheMovieMaker
      @BodhiTheMovieMaker  Před 2 dny

      First, if you assemble your PC slowly and carefully following the instructions in the manual, then it’s not extremely risky. Not likely to screw it up, unless you’re really uncomfortable with technology. - if I can do it, you can do it. 👍🏻😊 Second paying the extra $2000 does not necessarily get you a system wide warranty from the pre-built company. that probably will cost you more on top for the $2000 premium

    I’m halfway through the video and. How you mounted the AIO is counterproductive because you are sucking the hot air from the case that is going to the top . This will make harder for your fans to cool the radiator.

    • @BodhiTheMovieMaker
      @BodhiTheMovieMaker  Před 3 měsíci

      Interesting perspective. Thanks. But I would disagree. The only alternative is front mounting the radiator in a pull configuration. So the hot air would be pulled in to he case. The way I have it configured it’s pulling hot air out of the case. Plus the CPU is the hottest most thermal throttling susceptible component so I made sure to get that heat out of the system as fast as possible . This config has worked well for me.

    This is wrong though AMD is not good for rendering. Unreal Engine entirely relies on core count . An Intel 139 or 149 has a 24 core count. Everything I have seen says to stay away from Intel for anything. You will get 40% quicker speeds from Intel for rendering

    • @BodhiTheMovieMaker
      @BodhiTheMovieMaker  Před 7 měsíci +1

      To be fair when I made this video, the Intel 14900k did not yet exist. And at the time Puget systems was using the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X in their Standard workstations.
      Also, the intel chips have 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores, so not really an apples to apples comparison to the AMD chip’s 16 performance cores.

    • @SttravagaNZza
      @SttravagaNZza Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@BodhiTheMovieMaker Don't worry you're completely fine. This PC should need about 700W at max. The 4090 ( all of them ) will use about 450W at max, maybe 500W if overclocked.
      The thing is that PSU hold capacity but don't feed Wattage. Wattage is pulled from the components, so in a desktop environment the PC should need about 300-400W. Its when you start up some applications that it ramps up, however it should only reach ~700W in benchmarks as those will try to stress test every single component in different scenarios ( its trying to overwhelm the system on purpose ). This doesn't translate to even heavy workloads, as those are often a single but heavy task, it will put lets say the GPU under load, but not even every component on the GPU will ( eg: the VRAM is the bottleneck ).
      However PSU are efficiency rated aswell, meaning that a 80+ rating 850W PSU will draw about ~1000W from the wall, lose about ~20% in heat, and output 850W . PSU's peak efficiency is spot at 50% load, a 1200W PSU whould be the most efficient at 600W workloads. Meaning that it requires less power from the wall and looses less power in the conversion to heat, the fans spin less if at all, and you pay less on the electricity bill..

    I just watched your video today, right after I bought my own PC specifically built for UE 5, and it was a blast.
    You are probably one of the few people talking about UE 5 build-ups, and it seems like I haven't fallen short on my own build. I haven't seen the Puget recommendations until now, but I have done a lot of research to find the best affordable pieces of hardware to work with.
    With that being said, I will share my PC build for reference:
    -Hyte Mid Tower Case Y60 (3X case fans included)
    -Motherboard - Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX
    -CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
    -SSDs - 2X Kingston KC3000 2TB
    -RAM - 2X G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz
    -GPU - Palit GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GameRock Kaleidoscope
    -CPU Cooler - Corsair H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT
    -PSU - Corsair RM1000e Low-Noise, 1000W, 80 PLUS Gold
    -Case fans - 3X Deepcool RF120, 120mm
    I'll use this PC for architectural video rendering in UE5, 3Ds Max, Revit, Twinmotion, DaVinci Resolve, etc. I hope it's a good investment in the long term cause my finances are almost depleted, lol, and even so, buying it piece by piece saved me around 1000 euros.
    Again, great content dude, I wish I had seen it earlier.. Good luck with your movie!

    im changing out my systems in februari also ... going with that mobo 2 times one intel 14900k one amd like yours... jaa i need 2 pcs... dont ask ...and keeping the old ones to render out if i need extra power...if i sell them you dont get good money for it anyways so ...
    i have a few asus mobos x570 creator 5900x 64gig (2sticks 3800 because the controller run better with 2 sticks only remember this for x570)and x570 strix extreme with 5950x 128gig 3600 (stable becaus at 4 sticks thats the max) ...980pro drives are good so if you want lower cost...530 is also greath choise
    if your starting to build...spend more on your grafics card and less on drive space ...its easyer to change a drive then it is to change out or sell a used gpu ... so running old m.2s gen 3 doesnt impact things a lot in my experience ....you can even build raid sata drive arrays ....
    and the AIR cooling Noctua is more than enough it doesnt make lots of noise you dont need AIO at all i have the noctua on the AM4 5950 and it does what it needs to do and its easyer to install no software extra needed and fancurves to maintain ...trust me i have build more systems and im done with water cooling since i used that cooler hahaha good case airflow all nocuta also and thats all youll need ... and dont over spend on your mobo ... the asus creator boards are perfect price to preformance and what you can build in them ...and that 10gig port is nice if your using a nas or want to connect to other pcs in an array over an Ubi 10gb router on the cheap ... the Fractile case is quiet but i have the XL version that has some extra room to work in and makes it a bit easyer to change things over time ...if you have the room next to your desk jaaa i run 3meter DP cables those are costly but ok ... its far away from my ears on the floor ... no RGB sh1t ...and QUIET 🤣 and if you cant afford a 4090 just go with a 4070ti and put in 2 of them over time ...and i would wait for the Super card to come out ...4070super that is 2x

    Hey dude, got a question for you. I like what you did for UE5. My question is, would this machine work well with Blender? My main concern is 3D modeling and rendering, so I don't know what this would do in that regard. Would love to hear what you think. Thanks

    • @BodhiTheMovieMaker
      @BodhiTheMovieMaker  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks! Yes absolutely it would be a Blender Beast. If you look at puget systems benchmarks the RTX 4090 comes out way ahead of any other GPU for blender. And the AMD Ryzen 9 7950x also comes out on top for blender. Puget systems is a great source for benchmarks. This build is top of the line for 3D rendering work flows. Unless you want to go enterprise level and double or triple the budget. The only thing that might be a bottleneck with my rig is ram. I don’t know, I have very little experience with blender. You could get more ram or higher spec ram if you wanted. But that can always be upgraded later if need be. That is why I chose to only fill 2 ram slots at half my total ram capacity. 👍🏻

      Congrats! I bet you’ll be quite happy 😊 plus the 4080 is a little kinder to the pocket book haha - I love my Xp-pen display. Been using it a lot the lately. Haven’t had any real problems. I got a few minor scratches because I used it without the screen protector. But I never see them any other time then when the pen display is off and I’m scrutinizing it from a side angle. So I don’t think the screen protector is “necessary” that being said, I did by myself the screen protector… I’ve just been too lazy to put it on haha
      I’ve never actually connected it to my PC. I use it exclusively with my Apple products so far. I have had frequent connectivity issues with my iMac pro. Which are annoying, but I always managed to get it running somehow. I’m pretty sure the problem is more with my iMac. Pro then the pen display. Because it seems to work perfectly fine with my MacBook Air.
      I will have to get back to you about the ram question. I don’t know off the top my head.

    Just got a price from Dell to purchase a desktop unit that could run Blender......$5,500.00

      I was seriously considering a pre-built pc from dell or puget systems. Then I checked the cost of buying all the parts myself … and the rest is history 😂
      This is my first pc build so I wasn’t sure I would have the savey to build mine. I can confidently say if I can do it, so can you 👍🏻
      Does the Dell build come with a 4090 for that? And do they specify which one? What are the things that annoy me the most about searching for prebuilt PCs if they don’t specify the exact manufacturer of the GPU? Which, as I’ve come to realize matters a lot!

      Nvidia RTX A4500 20GB graphics card ....

    • @BodhiTheMovieMaker
      @BodhiTheMovieMaker  Před 8 měsíci

      Hmmm 🤔 that’s an enterprise workstation grade GPU. But I would not recommend it. An RTX 4090 is less expensive, newer, and better in every benchmark, except size and power consumption.
      So your looking at a Xeon workstation?
      I would recommend copying my build. To me it seems Blender and UE have similar PC component needs. you want a CPU with High core count for CPU based rendering. And you want a powerful GPU (or multiple for GPUs) for GPU base rendering.
      You could do an intel version of my build. It will cost about the same, just get an intel cpu and mother board. Everything else stays the same.
      If you wanna go with multiple GPUs, I’d recommend going with a AMD thread ripper CPU, but your budget is gonna have to go up for that.
      I don’t know what you’re use case is but if you’re new to blender or intermediate early career. Copying my PC is going to get you an amazing build at a pretty good price.
      Prebuilt always comes with a heavy premium.

      Hey! Thanks for asking. Just to clarify are you asking why did I buy the AMD Ryzen 9 7950x instead of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3D ?
      The answer is: to save money. 😊 at the time the 3D had just been released so you could get the 7950x for a big discount. It made the 7950x $200-$300 less expensive than the 3D. So it was well worth the savings. Plus Puget had no documentation at the time on the 3D. And to this day the 7950x is still at the top of their benchmarks.

      Haven’t had a problem with mine. You just want to be careful to have the power adapter fully inserted into the GPU. You have to check it every once in a while to make sure it hasn’t pulled out a little.
      You could also go with a beefier PSU that comes with a 12VHPWR Cable so that you plug that into your GPU and avoid the need for the GPU power supply adapter which seems to be the source of the melting problems some people are having.

    I wonder why puget system doesnt offer multiple 4090 rtx as they are faster and cheaper, I've seen other people getting setups with 3 gpus of the expensive ones. But actually the benchmarks for 4090 is faster for lit all software and rendering and you can put 3 4090 rtx in a machine and water cool it or buy it water cooled. So I really do not understand why people buy a super expensive gpu with lover specs. Just for the size? Or durability?

      @@BodhiTheMovieMaker Yeah I looked into it. Enterprises will use it because it more efficient hardware wise, not so much speed wise. They'll use in larger systems because the cooling and wattage is much lower. If you want more than 4gpu's it's not feasable with a 4090 system. But for rendering below 4gpu's and not doing some wild AI stuff that needs more of the GPU memory, I do think 4090 are way better.

    Most of these "hiccups" are deff new PC builder mistakes.. You went with the bare minimum recommended PSU here... Its a very nice 850 80+ Titanium rated PSU... You are running a PSU at 82% for extended periods of time I would imagine. 80+ Titanium rated should be able to handle this in and will. However parts can fail as do with all PSU's. Their are a few tech-hardware channels on YT that open old PSU's up for repairs and to see what failed on them. Once you get out of debt, or if by year 2 of this PC build... Plz for the love of anything get you a nice 80+ Titanium rated 1000W PSU so you have much more headroom for the life span of this amazing PC build.
