  • This is slightly higher tuning than ADG tuning for the baglama Saz (long neck) which I am really enjoying, the higher string tension makes a nicer tone and easier to play in my opinion... and it's safe tuning range where you won't break strings. Bonus fishing footage included! :)

    Fellow guitarist/musician here. I just received a saz for my 29th birthday, and I knew absolutely nothing about it. I watched one video (in Turkish, with english subtitles) that showed how to tune it and they were using the C, F, A# tuning that's in this video. Honestly I think this sounds better than "standard" saz tuning.
    I'll be watching many more of your videos! Thanks a lot man. And if you have more time to do tutorials in this tuning I'd love to take those in

      Thanks, there are a lot of different tunings used. I am currently moving to a new place, and a ton of work getting things done and set up, so once that is done I will be able to get back to videos.

    Great job on the video, Love the Saz and fishing theme at the end. And nice fish!! Do you know if my string can tune to this if my strings is La/Re/Sol =GDA? Keep the Baglama Saz youtube lesson coming!!!

      Thanks, and yes your strings should be able to go up to A#,F,C from GDA, or to be safe you can just try A,E,B as it's less of a difference and see how they feel from there

    Why do my strings break when tuning lower strings to F ?

    Thanks for all the videos. Do you have any chord shapes for this tuning? Or can you do the chords for the other tunings higher/lower on the neck?

    • @Guitar101Ramstein
      @Guitar101Ramstein  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, you can find a couple videos on Baglama chords on my channel, off the top of my head, I ca't recall which tuning I used for them. If all the strings are equally down or uptuned, the same shapes will work

      @@Guitar101Ramstein Thanks. You chord videos were in another tuning, but it's great to know that the shapes are the same in CFA#! Thanks and take care!

    Thank you for your videos. I am going to buy a long neck saz.can you give me some advice kindly that which brand is the best to buy?

    • @Guitar101Ramstein
      @Guitar101Ramstein  Před 4 lety +1

      I couldn't really recommend a particular brand, just try to find a seller that specializes in Turkish instruments and get what your budget allows.

    I was trying to follow this guide and noticed one of my tuning pegs was loose like it was just sitting in a hole drilled into the neck. Is that normal? All the other pegs were tight. Then as soon as I turned the knob on the loose one the string broke. Can you recommend a decent brand?

    • @Guitar101Ramstein
      @Guitar101Ramstein  Před 3 lety

      the traditional tuning pegs are like that, you have to push them firmly into the hole to keep tension. Pyramid makes very good strings

    i thought the typical is c3 on the bottem, and f3 in the middle and G

      There are a lot of tuning possibilities, and quite a few common ones like ADG from (strings closest to the floor and up)

    As that is very different than your other video on doing a scale in Ddd, GG, Aa, this doesn't really help without showing the scale in that tuning.
