Wedding-wise, you should do what feels true to you and decide early on in the planning with your future spouse what your non negotiables are, because it gets really expensive really fast. My husband and I had done long distance our whole relationship prior to being married and once he proposed, he wanted to close that gap as quickly as possible (which we had talked about for forever). I had always wanted a small, intimate ceremony so I was totally down, but because we planned it in a shorter amount of time than most people would, we also decided to do what I call a "bachelor/ette." We went with our friends who were part of our wedding to a divey little karaoke bar, sang all night and got completely hammered. It was low stakes, a little trashy (in the best way), and because he and I really are besties, we each got to have our best friend with us on our last "single" night out. It was so true to us and so fun!

I’m here to say Vegas Bachs are so versatile. There’s nature outings, raunch, clubbing, eating, excursions, chill time, gambling and everything else you can think of.
We had “shifts” for my friend who had a big friend circle and had like 20 people come to her Bach. We had “first shift” and “second shift” and “nature peeps” and “gambling group” and my friend loved it because even if there weren’t a lot of things with all the girls there, she was so happy it was go go go for HER (who was the only one who wanted to go go go) lol.

Husband and I are from different states, met in Arizona. We knew we wanted a very small simple ceremony but also valued our families and I wanted us to meet each others. We met each others close family on road-trips/vacations before but then we had an amazing compromise with the help of our parents.
His family had an engagement party for us in their hometown and I got to meet all of his extended family.
My grandparents hosted one in the my hometown for all of my extended family and fam friends.
We got all the introductions, chit chats, gifts (weee lol), I got to wear all my cute white bridal outfits, get spoiled and all those people our families would “want” us to invite to a bigger wedding were pleased to be included and meet us, and grandparents/whoever were happy they got to “brag”/show us off without us paying for random people to sit at our actual wedding lol.
Also due to families in diff states no one had to travel if they didn’t want to/weren’t able to for actual wedding, since we went to them and got a lil vacay.
We had just our parents, my brother and his wife took pics and video, his best friend was our officiant and we were outside in Arizona around nature on a mountain at sunset and I got my dream dress since we didn’t have to pay for a venue or meals for people lol. We went to dinner after and partied and then brunch next day.
I wouldn’t change a thing :)

My husband and I did our bachelor/bachelorette weekends on the same weekend. 10/10 recommend doing it the same weekend, we both were having the best time with our friends and would send each other photos throughout the day and then text each other each night when we got home safely. We also did it the month before the wedding because we wanted to give our friends time to recover but also with COVID we didn’t want to accidentally make our wedding a super spreader (we got married in 2021) so in case anyone got sick from COVID during the trip there was time to detect it and for recovery

For my wedding I didnt have cake..I think cake is a huge waste because theres always so much left over or people leave a half bitten cake on the table that goes to the trash..I actually had Cold Stone cater at my wedding and we had like 3 flavors of ice cream, 5 toppings, and syrups it was a hit. We also got to keep any ice cream that was left over😊
