I'm feeling really anxious and frustrated because of this episode. It's not because of Alisha or Remi, but because I'm going through the same situation with PCOS. It's really annoying to have to visit so many doctors just to find one who will listen to you.

Thank you for sharing Remi! I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 22 years old and it’s been 4 years of stressing about what medication works for me, feeling sick from trying different medications and the hassle with even getting the medication nowadays

How do you test for high cortisol? I think that may be the issues I have. I have insulin resistance and was put on metphormin but I have not felt any better. I’m still so exhausted. I don’t do high cardio or HIIT I mainly walk and do weights. I’m struggling everyday and just want to take my life back!

it hurts so so so much to watch me and my friends eat the same thing and me gaining a lot more weight than them. i have a twin sister with regular hormones and we eat exactly the same amounts (she even eats more than me) but i’m like 10 kilos more than her. it’s exhausting

i’ve been bullying myself my whole entire life about my weight and it turns out i have insulin resistance and PCOS. i literally was putting myself down for so long and for what? for it to not even be my fault?

how effed up is it that PCOS is literally mysterious in the medical field for women’s health. we are not taken seriously and no one is doing anything about it.

This may be dramatic but you reading the definition of PCOS made me literally cry. i relate to you so much remi and i’m sixteen with PCOS but my doctor won’t take it seriously because i’m young. he’s the best doctor in my country. not only that, but i went to A WHOLE DIFFERENT COUNTRY to ask a doctor there and they also didn’t take it seriously because i’m young. i really am in a confused state.

If doctors won’t give you proper care tell them to put “ok then put that in my records, that you refused to give me the care I’m asking for” they’ll turn around and order you that test. It works everytime

last time i went to the gyno for all of the pain i have while ovulating and also before & during my period, they said “yeah, you probably have pcos, try taking advil” my mom had adenomyosis, so something definitely runs genetically, but im from the south and also a poc, so i’ve never had any doctors from a PCP to gyno ever really listen to my pain 😔

Remi! I have thyroid problems and I used to sleep ALL the time but I was so exhausted. Have you heard of the spoon theory? It’s kind of how people with chronic issues deal with their days and how they use their energy.

Remi you are honestly amazing. Ive been going through some body issues. and my doctor mentioned 60% of female with PCOS are overweight, so most doctors dont look at the other 30% females who aren't. He told me I might have PCOS and thats why the other 3 doctors I saw did not think of it. Ladies please see multiple doctors if you feel you aren't being heard.

PCOS is not only being overweight! You can be underweight or any weight really and still struggle!

I got put on a birth control pill when i was 14(im 24 now) bc they said i have PCOS and that was that was the last time they did anything about it and i have a lot of mental health problems and it got to the point that i was so depressed all the time i had to go to the hospital for a while and they took me off the birth control and changed my depression and anxiety meds and ive been feeling so much better mentally but ive gained so much weight and thats making me feel worse but thank you remi for talking about all this bc it makes me feel validated

I’ve been on my PCOS journey for 2 years now. I literally got tested because of your vlogs Remi. I feel like we have very similar stories. Watching this podcast was very inspiring. I’m still trying to find the best options for my PCOS and hope I too can feel better in my body. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Having PCOS and finally learning what it really is/involves and what that means for me, has been an eye opener as to why a plethora of my issues I have physically, emotionally , and mentally are all connected to each other and are symptoms of PCOS. It sucks, but knowledge is wealth, so now I can work with it. Thanks sm for sharing your story Remi! 💕

i went to a specialist for endometriosis and luckly got diagnosed suuuper quickly and early stages. after going through lots of reddit threads and listening to remy it seems that going to a specialist (even if its super expensive and hours away) is the best thing you can do for yourself if you think you have any gynecological issues (pcos, endo, etc). i dont know if it’s because we’re women but our female specific illnesses are not taken seriously, addressed, or researched. I hope everyone finds healing and a specialist

I grew up in the dance world too as a bigger kid and I feel like I have never heard anyone talk about it and I never knew how much I needed to hear, I wasn’t the only one!

I’M LITERALLY CRYING. I have never felt SO SEEN this entire podcast. Was Cushing ruled out for you Remi? I am 28 years old. I have never ever had a regular period, I had a miracle baby in 2019, many miscarriages and an ectopic. FINALLY just now I got diagnosed with PCOS, ruled out Cushings. I have high blood pressure so BC is not an option for me, i just got an IUD, on spironolactone and im going on Wegovy in September. I’m hoping Wegovy will help me with my weight/insulin resistance, then i can get off my blood pressure meds. Learning how to eat with PCOS has allowed me to healthily drop weight. I did Insanity & P90X in high school too. I just didn’t understand why i was so big compared to everyone. I starved myself, cardio multiple times a day and dropped 40 lbs in 2-3 months. I am so thankful, I go to the Veteran’s Affairs Women’s Health Clinic, so if you’re a fellow Veteran Girly reading this out there, the VA has treated me SO WELL. I got to see an endocrinologist, allergist, OB, PCP, they are all accessible thorough the VA App. Medication gets sent to me in the mail. WE GOT THIS. <3

Remi, I have been struggling with 3 periods a month, cystic acne, mood swings, all of the symptoms on my IUD. I just made an appt to see a hormone specialist. I haven’t been to the doctor in a year. Thank you for the push!!!!❤
