    This video is an updated version of the orginal as the Key Mounting system has been updated. Yes youtube will not be happy about this but it would mean the world to me if you left it running in the background and gave it a like and or a comment here is a little update video of the change too: czcams.com/video/D6QzwYYZiBE/video.html

      It might be easier for folks to follow if there were color coordination on the different parts used for the demo, rather than having them all be the same color. Just a thought.

    Been making parts since last week. PLA not a mis print yet. Love that everything has threads as it allows rotation and various heights. If you did this all in Blender then its capabilities are grand. the discord "show and tell" is already out of control (as in too much to look at). If rating 1 to 5 then these gets a 6. Best of luck.

    3:40 I've spent 15 minutes to try to connect 4 boards with that cross connector. I've tried all at once and also one by one. No luck, no way I can fit it there. After yet another try one of the two connectors broke straight in the middle. Any suggestions? Printed with PLA on Artillery Hornet, if this information will add anything.

    I love the concept, but for the threads, I'm having horrible scaling issues (printing with PLA). None of the threads are fitting into the multigrid when printed as-is. All the different thread sizes require different levels of scaling to make them fit, which is a nightmare to keep track of. Is there an easy fix that I'm missing?

    The quad connector wasn't in the .stl for the starter pack though... I am guessing it was exchanged for a different solution, but this video is only 6 days old :D Or was the stl not updated yet? Also it would have been very helpful to include the printable multitools in the starter pack, not much of a starter without everything needed, right? ;) I have a bit of a problem with tolerances on my kobra plus... Parts fit in the board VERY snug, almost not possible to get in and out, and the threads are too tight. Needed to lightly sand every thread, but if anyone has a good tip on that, would be appreciated!

    I know this all new and everything but...I find the layout of the site kinda difficult to comprehend. I'm 39 years old for context. When I look at the guide lines page...you will need...these things...and then a list ensues...please make that list, clickable links...like, ok, so you're telling me I need this and this and this...give me links so I don't have to remember what those things were or open a new page to search those items. ya dig?

      We need a easy setup guide with links to the parts that are needed to get the grids connected, thats part 1. Second Part: we need collections of the parts needed for something. Thats how we can learn to use the different parts.. I´m currently supporting you but i must tell you that after printing the mini multiboard i wanted to cancel my membership. i wanst able to print hte mini multiboard accessories on a ender 3 s1 with a 220x220 print bed and had to try and cut the file with extra software aso.. it was/is a hassle to get started@@Keep-Making

    better PLA or PETG?

    • @Marcus_Caius
      @Marcus_Caius Před měsícem

      My question exactly. PETG is more flexible for when you clip parts together but if the grid walls are thick enough PLA might hold it very well. Currently you can find some PETG spools for cheap.

  • @jacobstr
    @jacobstr Před měsícem

    One thing I don't understand / appreciate after watching the video is what the threads are for.... I just thread into a push fit and, so what? Same with the tbolt.
    I presume there are accessories that require a thread or tbolt in order to secure them. That in itself is a bit confusing because it all seems to push fit incredibly tightly.

  • @SnarkDADmin
    @SnarkDADmin Před 4 měsíci

    I printed this and i'm really curious as to what materials were used in the video, there are no suggestions that I see on the website for building the mini. I printed the grid in PETG and the parts in silk PLA using the normal tolerance files, and everything was so tight that I got angry and threw every bit in the trashcan after I broke both a thread and a piece of the grid itself trying to either get a part in or out. Rubber mallet helped some for some things, didn't do jack squat for other stuff.
    Thinking I'll just stick to other storage systems. It's a shame because I really like the geometric stuff, and a wall board like this would be useful in my wife's office. But hours and hours of print time just for the mini kit, only for it to break? Ugh.

      @@evanhiatt9755 Try to choose a set of parts for your own place. It's very hard to get behind the many parts and starter download sets cost money! Collections / Sets are NOT free!

    • @DrChiYT
      @DrChiYT Před 6 měsíci +29

      @@Self.reliant This isn't actually true. All of the system is free. The "useful" stuff isn't behind a paywall. The four things that specifically aren't free are; 1. Upcoming parts that are a work in progress (aka not finished), 2. Pre-stacked print profiles (big whoop, you can just stack them yourselves in your slicer, not hard), 3. The "designer", which is just a quick way to create tiles with holes in it for cutouts (again, you can do this manually yourself easily), and 4. The mini-multiboard starter pack as one download. To be clear, the starter pack is all free too, you just have to download the pieces individually. Now, I personally think the starter pack (as one lazy download) should be free to get people hooked, but it is what it is.
      Point is, the whole system is free. But not open source. He clearly put a lot of work into designing this system and I have no problem throwing a little money his way.

      use a drywall anchor either plastic pound in or zippit self drilling style depending on the weight. you could also hit the studs on a column

    • @RandomSmith
      @RandomSmith Před 4 dny

      @@zeddpilsner4 was probably the wrong question I asked, was more intended as how many holes does one need in the large 8 x 4 arrangement of tiles. I guess it depends greatly on how heavy the items you are hanging are. When I was originally thinking about it, I thought you would put a screw in each tiles corner and I wouldn't want to do that with plasterboard anchors, but given studs are something like every 60 cm you could put a screw block into each cell that aligns with a vertical stud. Given I have a printer bed that is 25cm that would mean that almost every second tile (and a bit) was securely fastened and the ones in between would have the tile to tile joiner with no screw in it.
