• Jamie Oliver ALMOST Ma...
“Maybe he’ll bring out packet ramen”
“Or instant ramen!”
Oh my sweet sweet summer child…
yes, one day he might bring in packet ramen just like he used premade rice in a bag......
Jamie Oliver, is considered a Chef, but is also a Butcher, winning the "Welsh Lamb Butcher" of the Year in 1986.
He also Butcher's every Asian dish he attempts.
It's like he is trying to commit hate crimes with his cooking
Many Asians wanted to butcher him and his works but Uncle Roger already doing that and making all Asian people proud. He one day going to eat the title " most successful Asian in Asia ".
The shock on Peach's face when she sees the soba noodles is heartbreaking but such a genuine reaction.
jamie : im going to make ramen
also jamie : im using "Soba" noodles for my ramen.
my gf from Okinawa : so you habe chosen death !
What is more ridiculous is that it really is just his lazy ignorance. I cooked professionally for over 20 years and Ramen broth is dead easy to make....a long process same as Cha Shu pork(made the day before) but not difficult. I no longer work in the industry as I chose my family first but as a single parent of 4 (working full time) I still make the complete dish at home.
"Bowl of disappointment " and "Asian confusion " are the best comments ever
Favorite anime:
One piece
Cowboy Bebop
Bruh...the first time I tried making authentic ramen, my brother and I drove around the city trying to find pig feet for the broth for an hour (peak covid), sawed through them with a saw not made for bones and then boiled them overnight. Jamie Oliver's recipe isn't even close
"a bowl of disappointment" lady you had the best line !!! xDDD
Uncle Roger is funny, but I LOVE getting a reaction from an actual Japanese person. You two are also very funny, while giving a real, authentic reaction to your cultures dish. My dream is to go to Japan and get authentic ramen. Thank you for the video!
OMG all three of you reacted exactly the same at the same time to the noodles. I loved it! Made me laugh hysterically.
Roasting the bones: this is a classic French cooking technique in making dark stock, which infuses a deeper flavor to stock and, when it's veal bones, a richer demi glace or espagnole Mother Sauce.
...and since neither of these has any relationship whatsoever to ramen broth or tare, all Asian's general confusion & outrage here is warranted :) It can't even be called fusion food.
More like confusion food.
@@XenonKirito You are a genius.
@@XenonKirito fusion confusion
It's very good in Western cooking. This is not the right dish
11:25 peach looks exasperated, and Steven just starts laughing 🤣
i really love auntie and uncle reaction i watch every day
11:27 omg the look on your face at that joke, at that moment, PRICELESS!!! I laughed so hard i startled my cat and dog lmao
Making "Ramen" with Soba Noodles is the same like making Spagethi Napoli with Farfalle-noodles. There are so many forms and types of noodles. And a cook should know the difference. But how Jamie Oliver makes Asien Cousine makes me believe that he either hates it or just doesn't care at all. So sad.
The last time I was in Osaka, there was this wonderful ramen shop near our apartment. Their charshu was oven roasted, and it had this wonderful char on the outside of each slice. It was the best I have ever eaten. I do not know if it is still there, but it was just east of Morinomiya Station on Chuo-dori Ave.
Holy shit I live right by there. I live in 緑橋 right beside 森ノ宮
I usually go to shimba ramen right by 緑橋駅
There’s also a classic kushikatsu place called 鈴屋 also in 緑橋
It’s a old Shop opened years ago during the Showa period, but damn does it taste good.
Nice seeing someone living so close to where I do lol. Small world ain’t it?
When you consider how diplomatic and polite most Japanese are, 13:49 really shows how bad Jamie Oliver has f-ed up
"British guy making Ramen" should scare anybody. Like a nightmare. Even French chefs won't dare.
This whole uncle roger-jamie oliver is probably would win an award for tsukkomi-bokke show 😂
13:48 that "soba nooo" crying from the soul ahahah
Great channel, thank you.
Japanese people are so polite, I love the look on her face when she says, "something is going wrong." Wonderfully understated.
I never noticed in any other video before….but Jamie just said the pork belly was “falling off the bone” and I’m pretty sure pork belly doesn’t have bones! 🤦🏻♀️
Peach looks like an angel. Only Wings and halo are missing.
I love your reaction videos to Uncle Roger uploads. Please keep these coming!!!
The words "Jamie Oliver" and "Ramen" gave me instant anxiety.
Finally , was waiting for this !
Of all cuisines other my country, I love Japanese of all time and Italian next... Damn it... Damn it sooo much. I studied cooking and hunted authentic Japanese restaurants as much as I can.
I always get teary eyed when I discover a really good restaurant, but what Jamie did.... He's so good at breaking my heart.
Brilliant reaction video!
"A bowl of disappointment" - succinctly said.
My favourite Anime includes:
all from Studio Ghibli
Akira
Ramen with Soba is like making Fried Chicken with Pork
Congratulations hitting the 4k mark. It is really interesting to follow the journey of a small channel growing bigger and bigger on youtube
You two have made my day. Your reaction on the fried rice was educational and not just entertainment. sugo-i hopefully it's the right Japanese word for "wow"
Jamie Oliveoil: We gonna be making ramen. It's one of Japan's most treasured dishes
also Jamie Oliveoil: Forget the beginning I'll use soba instead
Yeyy you guys made a new video thanks for the laugh too btw
Right now I like "Tokyo Ravenger" anime !
You two are awesome. I have spent the last four hours watching you cringe, laugh, look confused and nod with approval( the last one , approval, not very often hiya)
Xo Kate from 🇦🇺 Australia
I just found this channel and i love it
love all videos! keep it up! 🥰
i am sorry if it sounds weird but her voice is so comforting
You guys have to react to uncle roger making a ramen video, it's so much fun
Oh by the way. The way Jamie roasted the bones first then added water, IS a way of making stock so i give thumbs-up for that..
Yeah but he still fucked up in the end 🤣
According to chef Brian tsao, roasting the bones isn't completely out of the question because it adds flavor. Very different from classical ramen but still probably delicious. Boiling pork belly in the broth was wrong, but whatever. The biggest offense was adding sesame oil and miso to the pot before boiling everything. The oil and miso would be broken down by the heat and lose flavor.
I wanted to enjoy this reaction but I kept looking at the picture w/Kyōjurō Rengoku and it just made me remember the end of the movie along w/Jaime embarrassing all of Europe just made me cry. Not even white people would boil pork belly and serve it like that.
11:37 Rogerrrrrrrr! I really like Peach's reaction, she is so cute and funny and the same time! She said she should stop the video earlier, but in the end, she looked forward to the next roasting of Jamie by Uncle Roger 🤣🤣🤣
Can you please make a playlist of all your uncle Roger videos please I love seeing your guys reactions so fun
"Soba!" Jammy can't help it.
Frustrated peach is so cute 🥰
I like the reactions. I mean... Its atleast a Proper reaction, but i most likely watch because i want to learn Japanese lol 😂✌️
Still waiting for J.O to make an asain dish right by then uncle roger will cry tears of joy and maybe reach more than 10M views.
Favourite animation is easy the 1995 Ghost in the shell wich is not just my favourite animation but my all-time favourite movie including non animation.
Basically everything Shirow Masamune and Mamuro Oshii had a hand in is right up my alley.
That kimchi is also unbelievable
OMGG I LOVE TANJIRO AT THE BACKKK
12:25 you forgot he put lime too hahahaha "yeah!"
Asian Confusion Cuisine ... that's a good one!
ブラジルからこんにちは! o/ カオナシめちゃくちゃ可愛いです。 Really like your videos. It helps me to improve my japanese listening skills when you do the bilingual videos thanks =D.
Hai from Brunei !!! 😁 Can you guys do close up for Rengoku in the back , pls ~
I didn't know pork was chashu in Japanese, but I think I now know where the word "Char siew" came from when referring to pork in Hokkien Chinese...
chashu i think its referring to pork belly specifically. Char Siew 叉烧 however originate from Cantonese chinese, its a roasted fatty pork covered in sweet sauce
@@tealeyan5392 Ah ok, I had heard it was originally Canto, but I figured they may be related somehow...that seems too close to be coincidental...
They are certainly related, but evolved into two different things. A lot of Chinese food recipes spread to Japan only in text form, not the actual food. And the Japanese basically made their own version of those based on their own interpretation of texts describing how they are made. So you have something like Chashu which etymologically derived from Char Siu, but ended up becoming two different things. These kind of things are actually very common in a lot of cultures neighboring each other.
Chashu is Char Siew in Japanese. For pork we say buta. pork belly is buta bara.
When you thought only foods thats need burning.
Jamie Oliver needs It too. 🤣
It hurts to see that the ramen is ruined by Jam Olive Oil putting soba, it so bad that that i might even go to heaven by bleach.
I love both of your reaction, so cute and funny even when your surprised about the soba put in by Jam Olive Oil.
Is there a name for - Boil a cheap ramen brik,
drain all but couple spoonful water, add seasoning pack & spices,
off heat mix in an egg to make a thick sauce, coating noodles instead of broth ?
A bit like a yakisoba, but cheap brik ramen not Soba noodles. Is YakiRamen actual classic dish, or 'so random' ?
Favourite anime : Rurouni Kenshin & One Piece
23:00 Confusion of the highest order!
You two should show us how to make ramen.
those roasting videos about Jamie Olivier destroying asian food never gets old 😆
Also learn a lot from everyone with these videos
One piece favorite anime because its a long ongoing one
But the ones like golden boy, the disastrous life of saiki, one punch man exc are also great
Sandwich with a donut sounds pretty delicious, though 😀
Anime I currently like is Faraway Paladin and Rise of The Shield Hero.
Uncle Roger vs “Chilly Jam Man” Jamie Oliver is always a thing that makes my sad days better! 😄
You guys need to react to Uncle Roger review cheapest person ever, that was the episode that made me shocked 😂
Ya she was so cheap even mr krabs said spend the money
Dude, I couldn't even watch that video. It made me sick, like I'm going to vomit sick. Don't do it!
Packet ramen would be more authentic XD
We don't have that much anime in Denmark I am from, the last thing I saw and loved was the New Arcane on Netflix.
Keep up the good work, like your videos
Didn't know it took that long to make ramen.
Can take a day or two. But most people can have it done in a day if it's just a quick meal.
The broth usually takes a long time to make
@@lm-pw9ul Yeah, but at least you can make a bunch of it and be set for a while.
Jamie next mistake is making Thai green curry.. You can also react to that.. Gonna be hilarious :)
No no call it what it is. This is not a time for kindness.A bowl of your own heart. Jamie ripped out and served it in a bowl. No MSG, Just your TEARS
Is Jamie Oliver really a professional chef? LMFAO! I don't think so.
Also I always wanted to know why the eggs in ramen were blown
I'm not sure on don't know about donuts but they to make sandwiches with bagels in the USA
When you use soup bones you roast them to help get the marrow out. He's not using bones though, he is using the whole cuts of meat so he doesn't have to roast them.
Uncle Roger and you guys : Jamie , why you cooking on the ground , why you cooking out and where your kitchen
Me thinking: He probably running from people whom he upset with his cooking
Aye... Demon Slayer in Background 😁
6:37 Had to laugh because of your facial expressions. Jamie had in fact not added any water until that point. He dry roasted the bones which is a classic method to release more flavour from them. The roasting he did in a pizza oven that he has in that camper but that oven gets way too hot to make a broth so after adding the water he sat the pan next to an open fire (so not directly over it).
I hadn't heard of soba before, but when I looked it up I had an instant Oh moment as it stated that `unlike ramen noodles, which often contain oils, fat and salt, soba noodles calories are very low in fat and cholesterol, provide healthy carbs and give you protein`. Jamie is a health freak and so he'll always try to `improve` recipes. Honestly I can't say I fully disapprove, as it shows you can make changes to a recipe to suit your own taste or even needs and in fact his version of ramen will allow a person with gluten allergy (celiac disease) to eat it. I think that's pretty smart but he should have explained it rather than make it look like that's the way it should be done.
That's interesting, but I don't think you can call something ramen and use a completely different type of noodle...
@@errwhattheflip Ramen-fantasy :D
I get it but sometimes it just doesn't work. Just like his oil/fat free curry. Make a soup if you wanna avoid oil and fat. Soba noodle is slippery, (almost a little plastic-like) like some thicker glass noodles, it does not pick up any flavour from the soup that's why we usually use it for cold noodles. Actually Asians are the most health conscious eaters on the planet, you can find a lot of delicious and healthy Asian recipes without butchering them. If he wants to go for gluten free Japanese recipe it is very very easy to find one without being disrespectful.
There are two issues with replacing the noodles for ramen.
1. The damn noodles are what make it ramen. Soba is an entirely different noodle; he's not making ramen because ramen IS the noodle.
2. The soup bases are completely different because the noodles are made very differently. Ramen is a high alkaline wheat noodle which has a different flavor and absorbs different flavors from the broth than the buckwheat noodles that are soba. Meaning the soup you put it in have a different flavor effect on the noodles. So adding soba to the oily, high fat broth doesn't work because of its slippery nature.
I like to watch Gintama.
Kimetsu No Yaiba is a Beautiful Anime with incredible Art Story & Characters!!
My Fav of course is Dragon BallZ it was also my younger Brother’s Fav.
I Love a lot of Anime. Toriko, Naruto, Shokugeki No Soma, Restaurant to Another World, Misfit of Demon King Academy, Gate: Thus The JSDF Fought There, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Sword Art Online & many more.
Would you two mind reacting to Anime Food?
Demon Slayer is probably one of the most well-known anime around the world right now. My fave is Golden Kamuy, I like the humour in it 😊
Is that a menos in the background
There is more authenticity in every single one of your fingers than in any of Jamie Oliver's dishes. I'm not even British and even I'm sorry about what he does ot Asian dishes.
One piece may fav.
Mazesoba doesn't use soba, right?? Pretty sure abura soba and maze soba uses ramen-like noodles.
kimci ? 🤣🤣🤣
Kobayashi san's dragon maid funniest anime out there
In all honesty packet ramen have been better than what he made at least it still ramen 😅
I am going to watch the Mugen Train soon!
You won't be disappointed, unlike with Mr. Oliver. Mugen Train delivers the goods!
True
My favorite anime are Sword art Online, Dan machi, girls und panzer, The Demon girl next door, and made in abyss.
Oh and I like demon slayer as well. It's pretty good, I've only watched the first half so far.
Never seen Japanese laughing this way
Hi
My fav animation is "One Piece" anime type.
15:20. As an american, a donut as part of a sandwich is not out of the question. You'd be quite surprise the amount of diabetes and health hazards we can pack into a bite.
I know it long overdue i feel bad for people from japan to watch this jamie oliver honestly shouldnt try cook any asian food if he dont respect it or try to learn their culture fyi i like the video
Sorry om late to your channel. I like Bleach 😀
Favorite anime: JOJO
Before you go telling people "This is Japanese" how hard is it to google "where is kimchi from?"
i'm no japanese but in my country we have our own version of Ramen its called Mami and Jamie Oliver is doing it wrong you boil raw meat in water for hours with its bones to make natural broth don't roast the meat first before boiling
Its Violet Evergarden.
Gintama anime 👍
Well if I can give an Italian perspective on Jamie Oliver, my take out of mild ignorance of Japanese cusine is not so much ramen vs soba, even though I can understand it might be weird for a Japanese. It is the persistent and obvious lack of flavour in what he cooks: here he is serving naked boiled pork, which is quite sad if you ask me. Ok there is the broth but really? Then the eggs are clearly not marinated enough. Spinach are healthy but come on, who gets crazy about a ball of spinach. One possibility is he is doing that on purpose to appeal to British audience that might not find the required ingredients easily. I believe he is a bad chef, but first and foremost he is clearly a bad "eater". I would not eat most of what he does.
Demon Slayer is a good one, but my favorite has to be One Punch Man
I'm adopted and rewrite the Demon Slayer with little bit Malaysian Cultural
