    I just watched another video where they were making a point to say how hard they were stretching the vinyl to get glass. One guy even said he was pulling the other off his feet. Then I watch your video and you kept relieving tension by cutting around the wheel well and window area and gently worked the vinyl into the valleys. I have a 71 E Type Jaguar with plenty of curves in every direction and just purchased a 60" x 24" vinyl sample and did a test section. I tried both the stretch it and your working it in methods. Your method made much more sense to me if only for the reason the material was not stressed and I believe it would remain adhered in the valleys much better over time. It impressed me how easy it was and what a nice job it turned out to be. The hardest part is is practicing patience. Thanks for a very informative and helpful video.

    It is too hard to see what you mean by the "back of the blade" and how "exactly" you do this "trimming". I've done one wrap job on my own vehicle and the trimming was where I did not do such a good job.

    • @CKWraps
      @CKWraps  Před 6 lety +1

      +Jesus Farias Avery is great, it does have its disadvantages also. It's very thin film so it doesn't hold up well to stone chips, also because it's thin your blade can drag the film if it isn't super sharp which can then cause uneven or jagged cuts. It's also very easy to overstretch and some of their colors will even show the original paint color through them. Every brand has its advantages and disadvantages but it's important to know how to install each one correctly and what the advantages and disadvantages are

    How do you do a wrap on a car that has no panel separations from the bottom of the front a pillars, across the entire roof, to the rear 1/4 panels? I assume you would have to seam it in some fashion? Ae there companies that make that big of a piece of vinyl?Specifically a 71 MACh 1 Mustang.Thanks

    I really appreciate you doing these videos. I'm subscribed, have watched a lot and plan on watching many more, as I learn something new in each one. Decided I'm gonna give it a go this spring and do my hood (and scoop). I'm going with VViViD8 Black True R Carbon Fiber...not too glossy and it's got that texture. If I had my way, everything in my world would be carbon fiber 😏. I've got the vinyl and required tools already so I can practice on the scoop over the winter. I'm hoping I can get that touch you have with it...smooth like glass. I know...avoid stretching the carbon fiber so as to avoid rips and hopefully glue lines, and all important with carbon vinyl, to maintain the integrity of the fiber design. I got about twice the wrap that I need for the hood, so if I have to do the scoop more than once for practice, I'm still good. Thanks for the tech and I'm off to the next vid. 🐺☮☯🕉🐺

Will the insurance cover you, especially if the color of the car is different from what is in the car registration? Just some concerns in my mind.
