Really informative! The 266 is exactly the one I'm trying to decide between. Home Depot is still selling them. Didn't know Honda makes 4 stroke trimmers. Home Depot sells those too.

You need to do more diecast hunting
When you changed the grass chute you shortened the swath from 20" to 17" me I have always felt the more swath you have the better I may put a srm 3020 grass chute on my srm 225 and see how that plays out as long as I use the .095 line shouldn't lose much rpms if it doesnt work out I will switch it back
I keep my guard on my 3020U and it does the job just fine.
It's mostly for the storage on the trailer but it's also a easier size & easier to control for work in tight areas around ac or pump units.
Would you say the standard model has more power than the stihl fs91r? Or less?

A lot more. I sold my FS130 and bought the 3020(Shin T302) and I don't think the Stihl was more powerful. The Echo revs quicker and I love it. Stihls are overpriced.

Have both a 266 and a 3020 also a T262 Shindiawa same as 2620. They both kill my 266 no comparison what so ever.
Would a T302 (3020) be OK as an all rounder if one were to have 1 trimmer?
From brush down to tidy edging around home garden? Or would you recommend a T262 instead?
I have more Shindiawa dealers where I live.
And there is a special on with the T303TS 1.62 : 1 being currently cheaper than the T263XS (1.36 : 1 gear ratio version)
And 85% will be edging around the yard.
What would you recommend? Pay less for the more powerful or pay more for the less powerful?

The T262 Shindiawa is all you will ever need. Killer power! The T302 is over kill for every day use. The T302 is for property that has been grown up for a couple years. I sling a 28-1/2 swath with one and it still turns 9000rpm
Put 266 guard on freaking big unit like 3020 is terrible idea… take guard off for more productiveness.
