Such a good boy! I'd suggest using a harness that can buckle into the seat belt to keep his safe in the car. In case of a sudden stop it will protect him!
@@johnboylong40 For walking, a harness can be a problem because dogs can pull REALLY HARD. My husband tore his rotator cuff when our beagle (yes, beagle) pulled him on a walk. A neck collar is best for dogs that pull because it will not be comfortable when the pull your arm out of the socket! But for in the car or on a boat, a harness is best.
Try a Easy Walker harness. It was a game changer for me and my 75 lbs buddy. I pulled my hamstring walking him as a puppy and another person at the dog park recommended it. The leash attaches under the chest so if he does pull it pulls him to the side and he stops pulling as hard. Huge difference!

Labs are fantastic dogs. I remember the first 4th of July mine went through. Toke her out to pee before bed with fireworks all over. She looks at me and I told her its fine don't worry....and she just went about her business. They are very trusting and read so much off the owners mood.
Perfect gentleman? No, he’s not. He jumped over the barrier into the front seat without an invitation and jumped all over the place. My dog was much better mannered than that. She’d sit calmly in the back seat and glance out the windows. She was the BEST dog.

A lot of those back seat hammocks have a special leash that can go thru a slot in the hammock and click into the seat belt to restrict movement.

Seat belts for everyone, every trip. Fasten one end to the dog's harness and the other to the seat belt clip. Easy peasy.
