The most valuable point you make in this video is to tune your gear, if its not right, do not keep sailing, stop and make the adjustments. I think we are all guilty of continuing to sail when we should really just stop and tune. I'm enjoying this series of videos. I'm not really a speed sailor as such but I do enjoy going fast on the slalom gear, so I am finding this quite helpful, even if only to have a better stance, and to feel more comfortable...

Thanks for taking the time to make the video! Could you make a video about fins? Like what does the rake affects and the flex, depth, thickness, etc?!?
Nice sunglasses by the way lol

Some great tips. Particularly with respect to the harness line position. Nice to see I’m not the only one still sporting the Croc sandals😆

I got mixed up between Nico Prien and Nils Bach videos. You are both very good.
Nils (Yourself) are by far the better though.
    A TRUE athlete and windsurfer.
    Cheers.
Keep up the good work and thanks for all yr videos.
Currently waiting for a heart transplant after 40 years of windsurfing; you keep my spirit alive in waiting.

Thumbs up for your humor and your positive attitude 🤙🤙🤙...the closest to a catapult the fastest you go and make the slingshot technic are the fundamentals of speedsurfing 😎

Very interesting stuff !!.. I always found that you can really ‘feel’ a good trim. So it is really worth to do some trial and error until it is just right for the given conditions 💨💨💨💨💨👍👍👍

Thanks Nils!! Wonderful tips to improve the performance. We need more of this "feelings tips" to keep on growing and close the gap in speed control. 🤙

Come out to Western Australia next November for 30 degrees C, reliable 20 knot winds and some smoooooth estuary speed sailing. You'll need a couple of Delta weed fins around 20cm.

My max so far was 33knots. Will I do 2secs 35knots in 2022? Still need to get me a small slalom board; thanks for confirming what I thought I need. Also need something below my 6.3... let's say a 5.5 or 5.0 for nuclear days. Can't wait for the season to start.

how bout the conditions . i seem to get to 30 knots pretty consistently in 12-16 knots , 15-20ish knots of wind . but after 20 knots its another game .like can you eloborate depending on the wind strength what are good board speeds ? ...

Great video thanks, some really useful information there.
I have an old JP freestyle 95L with a powerbox fin. I recenly managed 35Kts with it on flat water with a 33kts average over 500m. I am pretty new to speed sailing and unsure what fin size and style would be best? I have a MFC 30cm freestyle fin which is great for early planing but is really unstable at high speeds, so I bought a Drake 32cm G10 slalom fin which seems better, slower to get on the plane, but a lot more stable at speed. What would you suggest as a good powerbox fin for speed sailing, if there is such a thing? Or is the Drake slalom fin pretty much as good as I will get for this style of board?
