Not only does this guy move the ball like he is secretly a wizard, but his choices are incredible, 1st time he lets em see it come middle middle, then it looks like the same pitch until 30ft out and it breaks 12 inches down and away.
throwing at 95+ is impressive enough but with command and that nasty break? unhittable

Hitting is basically impossible in today's game. Because each team has 14 or 15 pitchers, each pitcher can go all out on every pitch. In 4 AB's, hitters are facing 3 or 4 different pitchers who usually throw 95-100 with nasty secondary pitches (but each pitcher has a different release point & different movement on their pitches). No wonder hitters swing for the fences & hope they get lucky

The thing is Treinen's sinker is ridiculous...like it looks fake. And it's upper 90s/100. But the batting average against it is surprisingly high. It's his slider that's unhittable. Probably because it's combined with his sinker. So, it's hard to say. But yeah in terms of watching it, they (maddux/treinen) are both silly good.
So the lesson is, only the 2 seam has a chance of being a called strike.
