Imagine having to face 103-105 mph fastballs. Then that pitcher, tricks you with a 98-100 splitter that looks straight down the middle then, it drops downward and runs armside a lot at the end. I think I’d quit baseball immediately after

Kirby's knuckleball WAS the filthiest pitch of the year, it looked like a butterfly on Meth. If he didn't have to alter his mechanics each time to throw it, it would be perfect to add to his arsenal.
And damn near every pitch Duran throws is automatically gonna be a filthiest pitch contender, dude's a Game Genie cheat code.

Starts out as a ball, floats back into the zone, and then dives out of the zone for a swinging miss. No one, I don't care how well a man can see at his maximum, is hitting that pitch

Any of Duran’s pitches deserve to be number 1. When he has his command the batter has absolutely no shot. When he doesn’t have his command it has to be the scariest at bat and they still have almost no shot.
Kirby's pitch is my favorite of the year...having watched Tim Wakefield's entire career from his first appearances with the Pirates on, and always being a fan of him and the knuckler, really appreciate the homage

That Keller sweeper is the nastiest thing , batter thought it was outside and then comes across entire plate to inside????? Insane. I was surprised Brusdars sinker didn't make the list, he had a few that ran so far while going 99. Less drop than Uribe but way more left to right.
I love Brusdar's two seamers but there was just not a two seamer/sinker that was as nasty as that one Uribe 99mph turbo sinker this year, objectively.

Kirby's knuckle ball is by far the filthiest, Duran definitely number two and then Gallen.
Hard to argue any of these, but I was hoping to see Joe Kelly's 95 mph knuckle curve make an appearance.
I'm gunna have to see this knuckleball again a few more times next year for George, unbelievable pitch. He has so many choices now.

Was a bit disappointed to not see Kevin Kelly's perfect sweeper, or Shane McLanahan's unhittable circle change against opposite handed batters. But can't argue with this selection. But if P-Ninja had done a top 10 instead if top 8 then I'd like to think that at least one Ray makes it.
Both Kelly and McClanahan definitely could've made it in a Top 10.

Duran and Senga are both nuts, but for filthiest individual pitch of the year it definitely should have gone to either Kirby's knuckleball or Brash's murderslider. On top of just being disgusting pitches, they both had drama to them that the others didn't
Also it is a testament to the absolute hell the AL West is that the M's have maybe the best pitching in the majors AND a top-5 MVP vote-getter and they didn't make the post-season

Duran's stuff is pure EVIL! Watching him pitch is like watching a sadistic cat toy with it's prey. Just go to the consecutive curveballs he threw in the playoffs, just messing with people's heads as they geared up for 105!
