Clay Holmes back to back days🔥
Has to be one of the best trades in the last few years. And to think I thought nothing of it when it happened. But can't blame me dude was garbage on Pirates couldn't throw strikes and had a terrible ERA. Yet as soon as he got to the Yankees he became nasty.
LOVE Nestor’s windup and it really helped him take that next leap
hahahaha Ozzy Albies did an interview very very recently where he was asked who the scariest pitchers to face were. He said he was particularly afraid of the pitchers that threw hammer sliders like those Lugo threw in that clip. LOL
Kris Bubic looked amazing yesterday. Great sight for royals fans is solid pitching
This channel is doing great things for the sport, much like Jomboy's breakdowns did, to draw more people to baseball
Look forward to these recaps every day thanks Ninja
Thanks Gabe!
Nasty Nestor is fun to watch. If he can pull off doing that funky windup without messing up his own rhythm, more power to him!
Nestor is very fun to watch. Love it
Fastest I’ve ever clicked on a notification. Baseball is helping me deal with the anticipation of this year’s NFL draft, and pitching is always incredibly interesting to me. It’s probably why I love this channel so much
I talked crap on baseball my whole life. Until I ended up working with my co-worker who’s whole life is baseball. He really helped changed my view. And since 2019 I’ve been absolutely in love with it. Once you learn the sport and know what’s going on it’s amazing. Pitching is my favorite part of the game. The battle between the pitcher and hitter is so fun and intriguing. As much as I love combat sports , football, and hockey, there’s absolutely nothing like seeing a nasty curve drop out and dummy a hitter.
Wow glad you were able to cope
@@rlfs2853 I just came across BaseballDoesn’tExist’s video essay about Bryce Harper in I think May or April of last year and fell in love.
@@alatreon7451 watch some FoolishBaseball as you get into stats
Clay Holmes finally getting the respect he deserves. I’ve always enjoyed watching him
How do u not love Nestor’s antics? Not sure it’s very effective but very entertaining!
Great video Rob! Love watching these everyday
I'm just imagining what a Holmes changeup would look like.
The amount of times this season that the best starting performance has been against the Oakland A's... Not a coincidence I don't think
These windups are getting ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as everyone becoming a shill for sports betting.
man's getting paid tho
@Hunter Awesome paid by one of scummiest most predatory industries out there. Real cool stuff.
@@hunterawesome5105 The same way an oil executive or a gunmaker is paid, sure.
@@Vasemmalta sorry yeah, you guys are right, mb poor take from me
@@wntsumcandy sorry man, I didn't know
Certified Seth Lugo masterclass yesterday
Thumbs up from Naylor on that strike call? Haha
I'm still here for funky windups.
Lugo's curveball got an involuntary "ooh" out of me
I like what Nestor does. Since it has to be within the pitchclock time it’s ok with me. I started to hate some of the longer windups when they were delaying the game before the pitch clock
Honestly I am pretty new to watching baseball (I've just liked the sport but its really not a big sport here in Australia) so I am getting really confused with all the pitch names etc. Espcially when it comes to stuff like 2 seam and sinker, I thought they were the same but they are not. Slider, Slurve etc I can't even tell the difference. Heck whats the difference between a splitter and a fork, they look like the same grip to me. Would be cool if Pitching Ninja makes a short video that just goes over all the interesting pitches in the game for the newer audience like me haha.
A lot of people use the terms "2 seam" and "sinker" interchangeably, but I personally like to consider pitches with more drop a sinker. A slurve is a mix between a slider and a curve, and will have less glove side movement than a slider but more drop, kind of like a curve ball. I also don't really get the difference between a splitter and a fork, maybe a fork has a wider grip with less RPM, I don't know.
Here's a good explainer: czcams.com/video/1FTFWzcgjHE/video.html
2-seamer and sinkers are gripped and thrown the same way. The difference is direction of movement, this differs mostly due to arm slot.
Slurve is a curveball/slider mix.
Splitter and forks both try to take RPM off the ball, the splitter is a type of fastball, forkballs are breaking balls and for most they don't place their thumb on the ball for a fork.
czcams.com/video/1FTFWzcgjHE/video.html here's a great video on how to tell different pitches apart
My day is now one game of the year better now that pitching ninja uploaded. Not the best day for pitching for the Jay's and Angels but Matt chapman is my goat.
I thought Zack Britton's ridiculous sinker would never be topped, but that Holmes demon sinker was absurd. Yikes. If he can repeat that thing with any regularity, it's all over for hitters.
These Rays pitchers this year are something else. And they don't even have their ace in Glasnow yet!
Imagine being a major league hitter and having to face Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert or George Kirby to start the game, Matt Brash during the middle and being closed out by Anthony Muñoz. I don’t know how anyone gets a hit when facing Seattle…
Insane
Clay Holmes is so freaking good
I was just scrolling through your twitter and I didn’t see David Robertson’s crazy strikeout pitch on Trent Grisham. Absolutely filthy stuff!!
It'll be in tomorrow's video!
Can’t wait to see the vid! I was at the Mets game today and Darvish, Max, Ottavino and Robertson were all filthy!
Wait a sec… Did….Did that batter actually swing at that⁉️😆 0:15
Detmers and Ras were sick yesterday. On the nestor thing, I think it's brilliant, and more pitchers would if they could do something similar, anything that messes with the hitters timing is fair game for pitchers.
Bednar continues to be one of my fav out of bullpen, something about his delivery makes his FB seem so much quicker. If he can command his crazy curve.
Karinchuk's throwing a Screwed Slutter?
It looks like Abreu has a bit of Javier's invisiball fastball working there with that overlay. That thing just keeps climbing! Probably because of that arm slot
Trevor Richards had a richdiculous change up yesterday.
Previous Picks of the Day - 3-Leg SG+ Parlay
Y. Kikuchi 4+ K: Correct
R. Detmers 6+ K: Incorrect
D. Rasmussen 6+ K: Correct
Result: Loss (+100)
6:09 that kinda looks like Kevin Gausman splitter
Love nestor! He is silly!
What Nestor does... it's amazing, i enjoy it very much. I can see it getting old tho
i like the windups because its a tactic. it's nestors approach to disrupt timing and maybe compensate for a non-overpowering fastball or something. pitchers shouldn't be told how to wind up cuz its their creativity just like a batter's stance (tony bautista, craig counsel, ...) have their own way
Jesus… that Holmes sinker almost looks like Senga’s ghost fork but 20 mph faster
Just let Nestor cook that stuff funny as hell
Love seeing George Kirby show up
I still don't understand how Nestor can do his funky wind-up but Luis Garcis had to ditch his rock the baby
If Kutter's delivery is not a balk I no longer understand what a balk is (if I ever did).
I never saw a double pump baseball pitch. Kutter might be crazy good
Nestor is fun, because he is Nestor.
If everyone tried to be Nestor it would be annoying, very quickly.
yay
😂😂⚾️🔥
Not gonna lie, if it was someone besides Nestor, I might be a little annoyed. Maybe it's that mustache, but dude is entertaining to watch and I love his swag. I'm a Red Sox fan, so I should hate him, but I enjoy watching him, maybe because he doesn't have the best stuff but gets by on his smarts and skill, or just because dude is entertaining AF
I respect funky wind ups if they help elevate a pitcher, but it can be annoying to me when a pitcher overly relies on them.
Love the nasty Nestor delivery; if you don’t like it, then hit it enough for him to stop
Offer the black hat in flex fit sm/m and will buy 2.
hi pitching ninja
Hi!
DeSclafani looks like Maddux
Kikuchi cy young
thanks for not mentioning carrasco
Ha!
First
Nestor is corny.
Tired of the multipart windups. Just throw the damn ball, Clyde.
