Plant-Based Nut Crunch High Protein Bar

  • I make these bars every Saturday morning.
    When I make a large batch of them, they never last.
    I take them to work, where I can snack on them when hungry or crumble them into my yogurt or fruit.
    However you eat these bars - they are delicious and nutritious.
    I've added some flax meals and seeds to boost omega-3 and fibre, making the whole bar crunchy.
    If you prefer chocolate, then go ahead and add some chocolate protein powder and choc chips. I like my bars plain, without anything too harsh on my stomach.
    Try out these bars over the weekend and taste the deliciousness for yourself!

    Nut bar
    2 cups of mixed nuts
    1 tablespoon of flax-meal
    1 cup of quick oats
    2 scoops of vanilla protein powder
    1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
    Add to taste your own favourite spices
    1 tablespoon of water
    1 tablespoon of rice malt syrup
    Bake for about 45 minutes on extremely low heat until the bars become crispy. Please don't overcook the nuts, as they can burn and become rancid.
    Tips
    Add chocolate or your favourite protein flavour instead of vanilla
    Include your own spices
    You can use more oats than nuts if you prefer.
