      What would you say was the most helpful material for studying? I am half way through Professor Messer, I am starting on this and doing as many practice tests online that I can

    • @brandonvansylalom
      @brandonvansylalom Před 6 měsíci

      Definitely Messer's materials imo. He is straightforward with his content. I'd recommend ChatGPT as well as it helped break down terms I was not good at or needed more retention, especially if I were to fail questions on a practice exam.
      Exam compass is pretty helpful too with their practice questions and I used that a lot, making sure I understand why an answer is correct and why incorrect answers would be incorrect.

    I took the actual test 11-09-2023, and I was really surprised that the majority of questions I got were not that difficult. What makes this test difficult is the minimum score to pass it but also, it’s a good idea to make sure you study PBQs from many other sources that you can find because unfortunately, the Certmaster Learn platform never seems to have anything close to what you actually see on the real exam. Just know the exam is not as bad as it may seem (unless you are very unlucky and get a barrage of very complex questions). I actually had a much much harder time with the questions when I took the Network+ exam because a lot of them I got were very complex and not as direct (probably got unlucky with a bad batch). It took me one whole year, and I finally got A+, Net+, and Sec+ certified.
    Well good luck to you guys in your studies. Be well!

      Thank you! This is reassuring. I've been using Professor Messor's YT series, notes, practice exams and Jason Dion's practice exams and now Vincent's here. I take mines on 12/07/2023 so hoping I pass lol.

      @@romanD81I didn't end up taking yet and have to reschedule due to my local test center having server issues (forward deployed military at the moment); I am pending this coming Monday, the 11th, so I'll definitely follow-up if with results once I take it.
      A few Air Force guys that work in as Cyber Defense analysts I met told me they all passed with 753-760, utilizing Professor Messor, Vincent's video guides, and Chat GPT plus having a little bit of IT background or almost none. They ensured me I'll be good cause I am a 25B (IT Support Specialist) in the Army National Guard and IT Support Analyst at my civilian job which I already have a foundational background of basic IT security, which I feel pretty confident for the exam after about one month of prep as well.
      Currently using Messer's YT and practice exams/notes, Vincent's YT videos, Chat GPT support and Mr. Zerger's long cram video for additional references. czcams.com/video/9Hd8QJmZQUc/video.html
      So far working on cryptographic and network related topics, which are my weak points. I'll follow-up with results, assuming I'm still able to take my exam on Monday lol.

      the questions being randomized is always what scares me the most about these exams. Sometimes I will be doing a practice test that I get a lot of the right answers for and feel pretty good about taking the real exam, then I will take another and have a much harder time with it and think "damn maybe I need to spend another month studying or something".

    Watched this in the waiting room of the test center, thankfully almost no question on the test was as difficult as the most difficult ones on here. The test is designed for a prepared well studied candidate to pass, I firmly believe that! Thanks for your help;

    I have this exam tomorrow and I just came across this, thanks for uploading it... also there is a few things here that I seem to have never heard of before (I watched Dion and Messer) like sectoral antennas??? when was this ever mentioned... not even in objectives. But then again I felt the same way about A+ and Net+ like somethings CompTIA doesn't put in the objectives that they clearly should.

    I greatly appreciate you taking the time to do this for us as it's really helpful. I've always been tech-savvy and love building PC's but I've never worked in IT nor do I have network or A+ experience. I'm about 3 weeks into studying for the SYO-601 and it's been a good journey so far. There is just SO much information crammed into the Security +.

    I’m a little concerned. I have been studying for the Security + but nothing I have studied seems close to what these questions were like. Is the real test like this or is the practice harder than the real thing?
