Enjoying your no nonsense approach to these topics. Just thought you could mention that adding -h or --help to any linux command like nmap will list all the available switches or flags with a description for each.

Great presentation. I just passed my Sec +. I am going through the labs again though because practice makes perfect.

Did you buy the comptia labs, create your own or find some somewhere else? I am currently studying for the exam and the command line tools, especially the performance-based ones, are my biggest weakness right now and I would love to find labs to actually practice and learn about the tools rather than just reading about them lol

I can't believe nobody has every explained that chmod numbers are based in binary. OR that there was a way to change it without the numbers. I was just told to memorize the 1, 2, 4 thing and add them together. This makes so much more sense

Haha yeah, it's much easier to remember when you understand the underlying concepts! I had to do a bit of reading to make this video, but I'm glad it was helpful!

It is NOT illegal to scan networks, however, using scanning tools can establish 'mens rea' or in other words, intention to carry out a criminal act. This could lead to civil lawsuits and even if you are not sentenced or proved to have breached said network, you'll have lost time and legal fees defending yourself.
    Great video nontheless.
