Two cartoonists chat about the cartoonist life. Henry Chamberlain (George's Run) in conversation with Nick Abadzis (Laika, Hugo Tate). Nick discusses the graphic novel he has become known for, Laika, published by First Second, about the tragic life of Laika, the first Earthling sent up into outer space. During this chat, Henry asks Nick about his career which involves a delicate balance of creating graphic novels while also pursuing graphic recording. Nick looks back on a life in comics, as far back as when he was a kid in the '80s reveling in the heyday of British comics.

Nick, old boy! Haven't seen him in 20 years. He had no idea what SPX was until I convinced him to attend back in 2002, I think. We went to The Smithsonian and other places around Bethesda and had a great time. I don't think I got back to SPX after that, meanwhile Nick, who is really great at networking, sort of became the Prince of SPX for a few years after.
