It was my pleasure. So much to discuss and we covered a lot of ground.
What was the first artist you mentioned? "Swimming at the bottom" by who? Thanks!
This looks awesome!!
Thanks!
Jerome Charyn is essentially describing Welles as Unicron. His final role in Transformers The Movie.
Excellent observation! Thanks for your comment. Anything larger-than-life and there's a good chance it would have fit Orson Welles.

good stuff! you get to show all these books and keep the convo going.
I'm very grateful to get to chat with Tom, a kindred spirit, about the underpinnings to comics and a lot of pop culture history.
Honored to call her my friend, but loved her since I was 19. She's just so talented and creative, but I most admire her for her dedication to animals, which I believe comes across in all her work. She's one beauty! Ps: A Rosecrucian paid to have the Georgia Guidestones built
What wonderful comments. Thanks so much.
Cynthia is a force of nature, Boston misses her, she was a fixture back when. everything she does is amazing.
So nice to read this!

Still very relevant.
Enrico Marini is an absolute legend, if you like he's artwork i would recommen le scorpion and Les Aigles de Rome im pretty sure both have been translated to english. The artwork in Rapaces is amazing aswell
Thank you so much for your comments. I will seek out the titles you recommend.
Thanks again, Henry!
You're very welcome! Excellent conversation. Thank you, Nick!
I did a Pink Lemonade Cover Poll a few weeks ago because those Ditkoesque images are super fun and groovy. So it's great to hear from Nick. Something about his cadence makes me think of 21st century Jimmy Stewart (or is it David Lynch?). I also wonder if Oni Press hit him up to do some Johnny Craig art in one on the books for their unfortunate EC revival? 36:05 When he mentions that the algorithms on social media have made it harder lately, that coalesces exactly with what the artist on an excellent channel called Inkwell has also said about a huge dip he has seen in Instagram's usefulness and influence. Anyway, great interview "it was a real nice talk", Henry.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments! You're so right to bring up Steve Ditko, of course. Nick has got that X-factor through and through. Interesting about Instagram. I think it's probably best for creatives to just keep doing what they're doing and things will balance out in the end. It's like you need to organize a plan of attack and keep hitting on one consistent pattern of posting, etc. Gaining a following will happen naturally if you just stay true to yourself.
Great conversation! I like the chemistry between guest and host. Really nice stuff.
Thanks so much!
Where did you get it from?
Abrams. I reviewed it here: comicsgrinder.com/2015/12/14/review-adventure-time-the-enchiridion-marcys-super-secret-scrapbook/
Houdini. You had me at Houdini!
That's great! You'll love the book if you haven't already read it.
Chartwell was a curse i sadly had to live at aged 13 or 14. My mom had just died and i was being pretty badly bullied in school because i was so withdrawn and quiet, sometimes even crying in class as i would be absorbed in thought. During that time in school my home was a horror show, the mom i loved so much died of cancer in our home with two live in nurses, often i would wake to screams of pain. School councelors recomended Chartwell, against my tearful pleas that was my furure. Sometimes it all seems like a dream but it has caused me so much pain and sleep disorders that everything i tried in life was a failure. Honestly i dont know how i avoided suicide. If you were there, i was a student for two years..81 and 82. Sir was a savage and i hope there truely exists a hell for him to burn in eternity.
I greatly appreciate your taking the time to comment. You are made of strong stuff as I'm sure you know. This has happened to you and yet you found a way out through your own integrity and will power. Remain good to yourself and keep on doing good in the world. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

This says it all, at least for this video.
Just read the comic at my local library (I am from France). It is very good. I hope more people will get to read it, it's difficult but honest and unique. I love the drawing style too
I really appreciate your comments. Yes, this graphic novel has done very well and it was certainly a long, painful and creative journey to get the book completed. It's one of the great graphic novels.
Good stuff my friend.
Thank you!
Nick, old boy! Haven't seen him in 20 years. He had no idea what SPX was until I convinced him to attend back in 2002, I think. We went to The Smithsonian and other places around Bethesda and had a great time. I don't think I got back to SPX after that, meanwhile Nick, who is really great at networking, sort of became the Prince of SPX for a few years after.
I really appreciate your comments. Yes, SPX is whatever you make of it. And, absolutely, SPX is such a gem.
Just ordered the book. Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for your comment!
