Comics didn't catch up with his work in the 40's until the 70's...it stands head and shoulders above almost everything in the Golden Age, with the exception of Captain Marvel, Plastic Man, and the great newspaper strips.
Respect the deep history dive for comics culture. Steranko, Neal Adams, Buscema brothers would be cool.

Wait, I can't be the only one that recognised the "Walt Disney" font. Is that legit or just you guys presenting it that way?
That's his real signature that was used as an inspiration when Walt Disney company logo was designed. In reality Disney logo looks a lot more like Eisner signature than the way Walt Disney signed his name.

lets not forget, he loved to draw characters in black face with horrible stereotypical dialogue. great guy to name an award after no?
I know! Not only that, when he was called out for the monstrously stereotypical character "Ebony" he responded by getting rid of Ebony and replacing him with an ESKIMO who served the exact same purpose! (get the feeling he didn't expect many Eskimos to call him out). And if that weren't enough, he hypocritically berated Germany and others for their cartoon depiction of Jews!
no matter how you feel about him, the awards ARE named after him. Nobody named them after him, he CREATED them. You need to have some measure of compassion. The time was different and what we now call black face and find racist and disrespectful, it wasn't seen that way back then. Today we have learned from that and have evolved into doing things differently, which is great.
