I love this Mark. I've seen a few made from plumbing fittings, but is great to see you upcycle an old 'G' clamp. keep the vids coming, I look forward to seeing what you will come up with next. Cheers

Great idea Mark. I initially thought you had managed to somehow drill all the way through the original threaded shaft, which would have been quite an achievement! The end result gives the same impression and looks great.

Thanks for watching Ian when I first started working out how to do it I did wonder if I could drill the old threaded rod soon went of that idea when I found you could buy hollow rod. 👍

I really enjoyed watching this, a simple & no nonsense lamp that would look great on anyone's desk or on a side table. I tried etching fluid to do a similar thing to the patio cleaner you used....it didn't work half as well so thanks for that tip!

Pretty cool. Version 2 I like more TBH. The weathered wooden base is lovely. I wonder how it would look with the rod shortened and offset towards one end of the base and angled over? I kinda think I’d like some sort of hood for the lamp? (Just suggestions, don’t get me wrong, I admire what you have done.). Good to see you bearing in on the magic 1000 subs - well deserved success. All the best.

Hello Norman thanks for watching Yes looking at it when I finish it I think the rod may be a bit long there are so many different ways of doing it just down to personal taste I think I prefer version 2 as well 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I wonder why G clamps went out of favour. I have a few (rusty) I'm sure you can impart more pressure than a F Clamp. Maybe they are all destined to become a lamp.

Thanks for watching you can get impart way more pressure with a G clamp than all those modern clamps I think it is easier as lots of those clamps you can use one handed. Still got a couple of G clamps just in case 👍👍
