  • Mary-Beth Kaeser and Jeanne Wadsworth introduce three beautiful Eastern Screech owls: Jade, Tansy, and Oakley to a sold-out crowd at the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield, CT.
Horizon Wings program birds are raptors who can no longer be released due to either injuries or prolonged captivity. They are well-cared-for at the center, and some of them are able to be animal ambassadors during our educational seminars. You may also visit them on-site by scheduling a group or private program in advance.

Just lovely fluffballs, it is a pity that we don't have those in Finland.

Yeah I love their various hooting sounds and didn’t realize what they were. My favorite HOOTER. Recall hearing them often in Connecticut but moved to Maine.

Thank you soooooo much. Great video and quite informative. We have lovely screech owls down here on the Vineyard too. Bcoz we have plentiful mice… and the owls help to keep the mouse population in check… The mice carry ticks and we have waaaaay too many of those. It’s all a part of the great chain of being. What we do really need down here is more ground birds (like pheasant and grouse, we have beaucoup turkeys already) - coz they like to eat ticks…
