- Virtual World 1st place deck (july 2021 format) I used to win a box tournament held by a local cardshop for the new july 2021 format.
Virtual world is one of the best decks right now at the start of the format (my opinion). This is the best way to play virtual world to get 1st place and win events. Use this deck to win tournaments and start collecting prize winnings :D
Curious to hear what build others are running and thoughts on hand trap lineup (imperm? Phantazmay?) would love some input I'm thinking of adding in additional hand traps
Would love to see a combo video with the new package! Keep up the good content !

Good suggestion 100% going to make a combo vid for this tzolkin version the combos are a little more complex so i think many people will find it helpful just need to get around to recording it (i slacked off on making vids for a couple weeks xD)

Final sigma is cool i know someone at my locals has it in their list (uses it to steal games with utopia beyond -> final sigma for 6k) but similar damage can be replicated using Stardust charge + utopia beyond combo.
I know many control decks have a hard time outing it but i feel like you always lose card advantage when committing to making the final sigma play compared to if you webt m7/coral/etc.. also IME most decks are playing borrelsword/accesscode because of @ignister so they dont auto-lose to arrival (which also out sigma)
What matchups do you go for the final sigma play in? also did you cut a synchro or xyz to make room for it
@@thymethief so i play final sigma, and i use final sigma mostly when the resources of your opponent are wasted, or when i play against a control deck like paleo, ba or some random trap heavy deck
against invoked it can be crucial since most of their extra deck is lower then 3000, but again only when the resources are pretty ironed out

Hey just a question about the burial goods and fusion. Do you prefer to goods the fusion everytime or is is dropping the spell to search better ? Or does it really depend on if you have a playable hand ?

A bit late question, but how do you go about it when desires ends up banishing needed cards.
I've learned that you want to combo first if you can and dump the xuanwu and chuche and all the goodstuff first but sometimes it either leads me with no play next turn or just banishing alll copies of vw name. I'm considering taking it out but I understand desires is a massive consistency boost as well.

Two things would u consider a 2:2 ratio for desires and tactics if money weren't a problem?
Siding cycle reader over drnm for drytron. You could even play the zang zing syncho to just pop it with the trap to search a cycle reader
awesome list. What are your thoughts on kaiju's in this format? I feel like VW can utilize them really well with m7. You can also play vulcan the divine for even more kaiju m7 shenanigans

Kaiju with m7 now THAT is a combo i like the innovation thanks for sharing. as a player my personal opinion is i dont want to play kaijus unless i absolutely have to because they don't feel good to play (is -1 then u have to out some 2k beatstick lol). but that is just my personal biased opinion xD
i can for sure see kaijus becoming more popular this format especially if tri brigade go back to statue build. kaijus hit so many matchups too are you playing them? how have they been working if so
@@thymethief honestly I don’t really play enough to give an idea on how well it works or not. Mostly just theory. I think it’s definitely something worth testing though. It should be great against a lot of stuff. Dragoon Zeus barrier statues like u said
Kaijus are really good againts striker matchup you get rid of the shuzuku whitout triggering raye also you shut down their spell since they have a monster in the main momster zone i really like that play then you can make M7 and bounce the kaiju back to the hand

In general, what are you siding out in games 2 and 3? For example you know you're going second vs drytron and you want to put in droll, dark ruler, and nib. What cards are you taking out to do it?
great question !! Im actually surprised nobody asked this earlier eventually i want to make a side decking tutorial video
it's mostly player preference BUT I have some tips that will help you become a better side-decker :)
when going 2nd I want to maximize my chances of opening a disruption card (ash, nib, DRNM, etc.). I often side out consistency/draw cards because: 1) they are dead in hand while I watch my opp combo 2) you get an extra draw (6th card) when going 2nd. so I'm looking to take out cards that are not engine cards and do not disrupt the opponents turn/end board. in this deck those cards are often (in order):
1 Upstart goblin (always 1st card to side out, especially IRL matches)
2 foolish goods
1 metalfoes fusion
3 Desires (this is last card i side out, only if i need more space for side deck cards)
1 Called by the grave (if needed to side out and the card is bad in the matchup)
hope this makes sense or helps you when side decking it is something I've thought about alot if you have any other questions just ask

how does utopia make a 4 material zeus?
Great video!! Question: How many times did you get Nibiru'd? I run Number 75 bamboozling just to avoid it when I cannot get to crystal wing in 5 summons. What's your anti nib strategy??

Nib is def a strong hand trap against this deck. If i open strong enough I'll do what you mentioned and make tzolkin 4th summon but even then it doesn't feel great because it's usually an inefficient use of resources to make tzolkin in 4 summons.
I'll just combo normally and send Xianwu (the trap) early in the combo so if I get nib'd before crystal wing I can xianwu -> revive jiji -> nyan revive itself to continue to play. also i hold laolao as long as possible when comboing that way if i get nibiru'd i have xianwu + laolao as follow up to continue my plays (only using laolao after nib or crystal wing hits the field) which still lets you make a board (ex: shen + m7)
Occasionally though neither of those are options and you just gotta hope they dont have it :P

I would also recommend to main belle, today I used her a couple of times to normal summon, revive nyannyan, etc...
If you want to, give a try to bamboozling. You can also use its effect to attach itself to utopia beyond and make a gazillion material Zeus :)

I have the same extra deck list aside from -1 PK and +1 Photon Strike Bounzer. I never find myself making a Rank 3 ever aside from rare situations.
I feel it i almost exclusively find myself using the rank 3 on turn 5+ for a zeus play using nyan in grave
bounzer is some throwback vibes though I used to play that in Dragunity wayyyyyy back before dragon rulers were released
Would you consider worth playing VW even without zeus??
VW without zeus can definitely be played especially if you're only going to locals or remote duel locals. the first VW deck profile on my channel is of my VW deck without zeus because I didn't own one at the time (lol) and it served me well

What are your thoughts on there can be only one on main/side?
Im glad you commented this in my first build i was maining Tcboo and skill drain I think tcboo can be really strong and an auto win going first (similar to ASF/Order/etc.). i took it out in favor of going 2nd cards based off the theory that I'm already winning the duel if I go 1st (with or without tcboo) most games
side decking just be careful siding in floodgates when playing VW because your opponent will already be siding in all s/t removal to out chuche so a light storm/duster/twin twister is blow out. that's why I put in ASF/order as my floodgates because they inherently protect chuche just my $0.02 it's all player preference Tcboo mained rn is 100% viable
would you recommend VFD in this deck?
2:13 i don't know because you don't have a lot of card to discard so metalfoes remain death in a lot of hand
Is the tzolkin combo without dragoon really good enough? Caliga seems pretty decent tho. That metalfoe fusion was smart.
Many would argue caliga is far better than dragoon
Isn't croco necessary for the combo?
ya for the combo from my combo vid croc is essential but I had to cut it in this version of the deck in order to play the tzolkin engine :( I want to play it but I can't find the room
it's all about what combo you want to go for - caliga combo lets you win the drytron matchup but croc helps in the striker and rogue matchups it comes down to how you want to play the deck and the format meta
Why are you playing so many 2 ofs? Is it because of a specific siding plan?
Good question !
At the start of new formats when the meta isn't well defined (theres like 6+ different decks you gotta prepare for) I like to go for variety so I always have something to side in g2/g3
When we get deeper in the format and the matchups become more predictable i'll run less 2x and more 3x

Totally! You 100% dont need TTT to use this deck. I main TTT bc its good in this deck (drawing to continue play) but also because it is a good going 2nd card and useable going 1st. so in a replacement card you want a card that helps you going 2nd (most going 2nd cards arent useable when you go 1st which is what makes TTT unique and good)
Replacements could be: DRNM, DD Crow/droll/ghost belle/hand trap, nibiru, or feather duster/cosmic (mystic mine/floodgate out) are all good replacements
@@thymethief Appreciated! I've thrown in a belle for now. Also curious if you think it's worth cutting croco? I've played it since last format and I'm on the fence about cutting it since i like it a lot. But it's hard to make room for it with playing tzolkin package, and I'm kinda considering ditching breaksword for it.
@@SuluCandles1 nice belle is a good choice imo it should serve you well. as a player i love croco personally (drawing cards is fun and it pays for itself on summon) if I had room for it i'd play it but idk what to cut? vermillion is neccessary and comes up more than croc IME what are you thinking of playing croc instead of
@@thymethief I'd like to play croco over breaksword but it feels bad not playing any 3's. It's pretty tough but also considering cutting coral since it almost never comes up for me. I'd almost rather have 2 stardust charge over coral.
Same. I can't really justify paying $100+ for a TTT. I've already spent like $100 on HTs and $70 on Zeus.

I'm glad you asked so I get to share my love for spellgrounds xD
the company that makes the mats are called Khalsa Brain, the mats are called "spellgrounds" and they make a very limited quantity of mats for each design (usually sell out within minutes of release). this one specifically is called "salt and pepper spellground".
you can buy almost any color spellground online second hand (ex: ebay) but the older ones get super expensive (hundreds of dollars). I would 1000x recommend a spellground mat the feel the best, high quality, look clean/prestigous, and you can fan cards easier too. if you're interested in getting one I would recommend ordering one of these new ones they are about to release: www.kbgames.com/index.htm

Seems u r a prophet right know even drytron could be called rouge also eldlich is not top meta but strong enough to concedert to be playn.
metalfoes fusion just loses to droll which everyone is playing cz of drytron it would be better to just send quinglong to go into a name it’s also a brick in hand
If they Droll u at that point they're playing into Gamma hard. Droll on Lulu hurts a lot already so I'd rather them try and Droll there. He already explained it's basically a plus 1 if u draw it because u discard with Qinglong or Xuan-Wu. It's only a brick if the entire rest of your hand is already a brick and there's no other consistency card to cut it for so if u brick and hard draw it it's just bad luck.
