I can’t help but think how he must have been treated by his impatient and uneducated owners. I’m glad they surrendered him. Thank you for all you do
Lazyness. They don't want to put in the effort.
People who have dogs that have no idea how to train them and lose their rag because the 🐕🐕 dog won't do what they what.so they think the dog is useless. I think the owners are to blame. Same on people that think cause they have a dog it should perform. Tricks. Shame on people who think they will perform.adog needs love and affection.
My 13 year old lab still acts like a puppy. He’s the best. 🥰
I’ve had 5 labs since childhood. They get slower as they get older but I’d definitely agree with you in regards to maturity. They are the best .
Labs rock. 👍
You're the perfect owner 👍🐕💚
this brought a tear to my eye, what a beautiful young dog he is and this is an example of people who want the glory of owning a dog but know nothing about training and bringing the dog up, yes very young labs can be hard work and need a lot of time spent on them but when you come out the other end and have done the hard work you will have a great dog and very loving and loyal friend who will never let you down, i know because i have an 8 year old yellow and a 4 year old white, both females who love nothing more than being with me and going fishing alover scotland, i could never be without my girls and everything i do revolves around them! if you are not willing to go above and beyond and make a 15 year committment to your dog then just dont bother getting one, they give so much back but ask for nothing! 💖🐾🐾 i would gladly surround myself with dogs as opposed to people
SAwyer went from a stressful, unstructured environment, to an envirnment where he is loved and disciplined. He is going to be a great dog for the right person!
He does NOT seem all that bad to me. More like just a lot of training. Being that young, he's just wants to please!!
Totally agree. He isn’t that bad at all!!
I agree too. It takes a lot of training to get the dog to behave themselves. Abandoning it isn’t going to solve anything. My year old Bichon is energetic as well. I wanted to take my dog back to the breeder that my mom knows once but I didn’t anyone to think I was a quitter. So I kept him and even trained him, I even thought he wouldn’t change. He sometimes doesn’t listen but we’re making progress and I also started to teach him of how to stay calm while meeting other dogs and to not jump on them since not every dog is patient with that.
I adopted my Lab mix after he had been returned to the Rescue twice, because he was large, loud, and high energetic. The Rescue wanted him to go to a young family to handle the energy, rather than a senior owner, but they liked my plan. I walked him through the neighborhood and local stores for about a year to help drain off some of that energy and to socialize him. A very smart, 'easy' to train companion emerged, and he just earned his 5th AKC Trick Dog title, Elite Performer. I think Labs are the best, once you figure out how to help them release that energy.... then, what's left is love!
I have a yellow lab. First two years are HIGH energy. You need to know what you are getting yourself in for and put in the training time. Mine is five now and such a good boy.
Hello Petiteme1960. How are you doing
Thank heaven there are people like Brandon and the rescuers who saved my life companion from a kill shelter in the California desert. What would I do without him today.
I wish Brandon would concentrate on the harder cases though. I work in animal Rescue. The Shelters are killing pets with behavior issues because most people don't know how to train them. This puppy was a super easy case. Just an energetic puppy that needed basic training. Plus being a Purebred Lab Puppy, he would be adopted out very quickly. There are pets in the back, hidden from the public, that have been abused or neglected, that have much bigger behavior issues because of the abuse they suffered. They will be euthanized if Rescues don't step up & help. I wish Brandon would concentrate on those poor souls instead of the easy ones.
What a beautiful gorgeous dog!🥰🐕🦺🥰
The other dogs are all beautiful and gorgeous.
Thank you for rescuing this beautiful lab❤️
Hello Francine how are you doing
Where are you from?
Greatest dogs there is. I never really wanted a lab. But after i got ask to foster and adopt my first Lab, i will never not have a Lab in my life again. Im so greatful! We are like one, my best friend for over 9 years
Sawyer is sooo adorable and handsome! I pray 🙏 he finds a loving and forever home!
I LOVE THIS MAN FOR LOVING ALL OF THESE DOGS
You don't say
Omg he looks exactly like my pup.. I couldn’t help it but bursting into tears when I saw him abandoned in the facility. Such a beautiful boy. So glad he was rescued!!!!
I had 3 of these wonderful pup's all girls and I loved them all they are a fantastic breed and a wonderful companion. Just love him to death, he is beautiful!!
What a beautiful puppy how could you give a lab away they are so human like easy to train and loyal and lovable
He’s a beautiful dog he just wants the love and attention and a little training 🥰
He’s beautiful and so worth it. People just don’t realize when they have gold. Glad he’s in good hands
I've had 3 labs and they are the best. ❤️🐶
That dog was so nervous when he walked into the cage. And the dog just wanted to be loved and wanted to please and you could see he was worried about disappointing. It breaks my heart.
They dint care to walking is so important. Morning night!!
And people need exercise too !!
Lazy people !!! 🥰🥰🥰♥️♥️♥️♥️
Brandon, can you please put up more about Sawyer and take us thru how you trained him? This is so helpful!
I'm glad the owners gave him up I hoped he wasn't mistreated he's so sweet precious and adorable.
I have two labs, I have them since they were 7 and one at 8 weeks old, one is 7 years and the other is now 5 years old, they love to make you happy, they have lots of energy but very easy to train, play with them, let them get that energy out, best dogs in the world. They don’t touch their food until I tell them to do so, they sit before their meal, they just listen perfectly.
You're awesome I wish there were more people like you in the world you made my day thank you... I fell in love with you as soon as I saw that you got that puppy.
That is one handsome hound. I wish I could have a dog like Sawyer but my allergies would kill me. That dog would be my best friend of all time.
We have a five year old black lab. He was definitely a major handful for about the first two years, but I wouldn’t take the whole world for him now. He still has his wild moments, but I provoke that most of the time because he’s fun to play with. You have to understand these dogs, they’re a lot like little kids. They’ll push the limits and do whatever they can get away with. They have a lot of energy that they need to get rid of, but besides that they have a whole lot of love to give us. He greets me at the door every day after work, that big black tail wagging a hundred miles an hour in circles. When I’ve had a stressful work day, it all melts away when he greets me.
Humans who give love, kindness and mercy to these innocent creatures are earth angels who will be immensely blessed
Gracias por salvarlo y amarlo!!!
Bendiciones 😘
Omg he’s so calm !
Sawer looks like a sweetheart and has a lot of energy
You are an awesome trainer. Great job
Wish you long life together 🙏🏻
What a beautiful lovely & touching story🥰❣️❣️❣️ 🇨🇦
Dog 🐕 is like human with Feelings & Memories 🙄😩
God bless you all and thanks very much for helping rescuing saving and caring for these poor helpless dog 🐕🙏🏻❣️🇨🇦Our gratitude 😇 TOLERANCE ZERO FOR ANIMAL CRUELTIES & ABUSES😤 NO ANIMAL LEFT BEHIND🥺
He’s just a pup. Cutie pie. He will be better as he trains and gets older
U are soo special human being !! Thanks for saving the lab. The previous owners are horrible to dump this beauty.
I've had a lab for the last 14 years. This lab has been contained in a cage and you can't get him straight into training. First he has to release some of his energy . Take him to the park or a field where he can run or even better, to a creek or river where he can swim. Give him a taste of liberty first. Then do the running before each training. Labs maintain their puppyhood till they die, they need action before you can work with them
Didn't even know labs were high energy (i thought they're always just happy, playfully obedient dogs as we want any family pet to be ) . Your experienced idea is great 👍🐕💜
Brandon is the best & this show RULES!~ I'm watching it for years!
We also have a young rescued yellow female lab. She has learned several commands, but is still hard to handle at times. Our vet says she has separation anxiety, and also needs to be socialized to other people. She is what I would say "A Covid Puppy". We got her during the intense days of isolation, etc. We didn't visit many people, and rarely had anyone over except close family. I did walk her everyday in the neighborhood, but kept our distance from people. I can't even walk her anymore because our neighbors have 3 huge dogs that run loose. They aren't cared for and not vaccinated. They bombard us when I walk her. We also have no dog park where we live. I try to find creative ways to keep her active, but it is the "people" thing that is the real problem. It seems like she thinks that other people will hurt me. She growls, but doesn't bite. She goes into protection mode. We love her, but we have to keep her kenneled if someone stops by. I worry for her well being.
I've got the same problem! Training technique tried aren't working and I don't believe in tranquilizers.
I’ve rescued my whole life, (now a senior 😏) & I’ve made the same mistake (more then once), not socializing enough. Brandon’s videos should help. Also look up Victoria Stilwell OR The Dog Daddy, dog trainers on TV &/OR You Tube. Using positive reward training-(rewarding good behavior, ignoring OR redirecting bad behavior) is the most successful way to train. Also being consistent in training while keeping a calm/assertive demeanor is key. Assertive doesn’t mean being mean. Best way to describe it is to watch how Oprah handles hard to deal w/ppl. She stays in control while staying calm. On 1 episode Victoria had someone w/a under socialized dog. Dog was put behind some kind of SECURE gate in house. When visitor came basically they threw a few treats to the dog. That way the dog began to associated ppl as a good thing. While walking dog it’s good NOT to tighten up on leash OR become fearful as dog will then think somethings wrong & feel need to protect. A growl is a warning. Don’t unintentionally set up a dog to “fail”. IF you feel uneasy walking dog w/ppl around use a “Baskerville”/OR similar type muzzle that’s SAFE for dog to wear while walking. Dog needs to be able to pant & drink water. Eventually you won’t need muzzle, but good to have 2 leashes for control, 1 to collar, 1 to harness. W/irresponsible neighbor IF friendly tell them the dangers of having a loose, unvaccinated &/OR NOT altered (fixed) dogs(s). IF not friendly a “anonymous” note representing the “whole neighborhood” might be effective. Very LAST option is to call Animal Control. Only IF you know FOR SURE owners will become responsible OR dogs will get adopted. Otherwise it’s a “death sentence” to call them. PLEASE don’t send to shelter w/o a way out for them. It’s not their fault they have a clueless owner. IF needed just drive to a different area & walk your dog. Doing it every day OR sticking to a schedule is good both mentally & physically for dog & ppl. THANK YOU for rescuing & caring enough to help your dog become the best it can be! ❤️🐶
@@johnpearl4349 Thank you for your insight and recommendations. Very thoughtful of you to take the time to respond. I will most definitely make an effort to try. As far as the neighbors' dogs, the whole neighborhood has a problem with the situation. The authorities have already been called, and they just warnings. I didn't call anyone for the same reason you stated. They were, however, given a warning about neglect. The dogs are skin and bones - walking skeletons. After conversations with other neighbors, I pretty much found out why. The dogs will not eat dog food at all. They have always been fed leftovers and table scraps. So not only are they running loose and eating garbage, they are not getting the nutrition that dog food provides. Not much has changed since the warning. It is so sad to witness, but we all have seen that it is not a priority in our community. I have a feeling that something bad will happen. Again, thank you. I love my Dakota, and want her to be a happy dog.
@@lyciamessersmith5348 Hi there. Try reading the other reply to my post. There are interesting things to try. I agree - I don't believe in medicating an animal.
@@allisoncompeaux3981 So sorry to hear about the issues you've been dealing with Allison. I would call Animal Control back & ask what the next step is after the warning. They sound friendly from your description. Just neglected. Have you asked the owners if they are interested in re-homing them? That may be the answer...
It sounds like John answered most of what I was going to say (thank you John!), but I'd like to add that you can train your dog to use the treadmill for her walks since you are not comfortable walking her outside. She needs to get that energy out. Walking on the treadmill will help with any behavior issues, & it is also good for her physically. You can find treadmills cheap online. I've seen some people just giving them away... I'm sure you can also find some positive reinforcement treadmill training videos too.
Exercise and training for this pup who is still young is perfect! I taught my dogs new things all the time. I had one dog who knew over 65-commands. She just love learning new things! Miss them all!
Brandon. Saw u on tv today. What a treat. Thank u. We need u out here. They do. We miss love u. No matter what.
My favorite dog, so beautiful!!!! Bless him!! 💙🙌🏻🙏🏻
I think probably the number one error that people make with their dogs - especially bigger dogs is not enough exercise. My old girl Luna, a black lab mix that's 9 years old now gets two walks a day for 15 min.s each - brisk walk - about two miles a day. That seems to be enough and also helps her poop. Good on you for rescuing pups - I hate that any end up being euthanized. Dogs are such great souls.
Absolutely love this----sweet dog and good guy for doing what he does
I am so glad you adopted him...what a good dog!
What a gorgeous dog. Who couldn’t train him? A lazy sod…that’s who.
I love you so much unconditionally precious little puppy. Luck Dog and pick a puppy are my favorite show's
I’ve had Labs all my life. They make the most adorable small puppies and they become the easiest dogs you can do anything with. It’s the in between stage that the problem. Breeders never tell buyers what difficult adolescents they can be. They mouth, jump up, pull like a train and are generally wild. They are, however one of the easiest dogs to train because they are so food oriented. What a shame his owners gave him up when they could have easily trained him.
What a beautiful puppy. Too bad the owners got a breed they were not prepared for.
1:08 Sawyer was looking at Brandon like...in disbelief. that right there, priceless
I’d write, ‘Let’s Go Brandon’, in praise for you. But won’t because of its negative meme.
We had two GSDs. Both happy, well-adjusted dogs. The Breeder offered us, for free, a GSD pup. A family had purchased her and then returned her. The family’s little girl was abusing her, and I can’t believe they knew to how to train the pup nor their daughter.
My wife checked her out and agreed to take her in. Boudecae (her new name, the original family had never named her) has a one ear with a ragged edge. (Thank you little girl.) But she instantly adopted us and her GSD sibs. They love tussling and racing around the house, chasing squirrels in the yard, and making puppy piles which include us humans. Boudie is our loved rescue dog.

WOW!!! Lucky you!!! Labs are amazing!!!
This isn’t all that bad. My golden retriever was like this as a puppy and I trained it out of him in a month. His desire to please me made him quite easy to train. Now the thing with Labradors is that you have to control their food drive. It is the worst out of all dogs I’ve seen.
And there is the answer. You put the time and effort into your dog. Many owners don’t and then complain their dogs naughty.
They are absolute hoovers, but the food drive makes them easier to train - and they are naturally easier to train than most breeds!
What a cutie!
Labs are lovely natured dogs , this is wonderful , my heart is melting ♥️
We had a lab puppy. She is now almost 5. She still has as much energy as she did at 8 months old. But she also knows to wait for her dinner. If we tell her to wait, we can leave the room and she won’t go for it….just watches it in case one of the cats strolls by or one of our ancient Shih Tzus! For her, it’s all about the ball! She has a ball in her mouth from 8:00 am till 8:00 pm. When it is put into the garage, she knows playtime is over!
This guy just needs a strong loving hand to guide him and he will be an excellent dog.
Someone should tell new lab puppy owners that they are puppies till they are 10.
I can't imagine having a puppy and then at eight months abandoning the dog at a shelter. He is such a sweet boy, I hope Brandon's training is enough and he finds a good and loving home.
I have had a lifetime of Labradors and this guy seemed pretty calm to me. I would take a Labrador over ANY other kind of dog! They are THE best companions and so great with children. There isn't anything I don't like about them. Well except for the shedding...
can i have that dog please. please.
He’s beautiful! I love Labs❤️
He is just young . Just young. I am so glad you found him. I had several labs. I am not a professional trainer. And they just becamed great smart, calm and obedient dogs as they aged. Too bad people think they are cute and buy them and later cannot handle them because one cannot turn on anf off a puppy.
Beautiful dog. Thank you Brendan & your team.
Brandon is a kind gentle caring patient soul
Absolutely Awesome!!!!!! Gorgeous dog. I always adore all Labs.
He is a lucky dog to be away from his horrible owners.
Beautiful pup.
He's so cute that breed is energetic.I wished I had an 🏠 house big back yard for him to play in but I would make him a room inside my house.I love dogs
Reminds of my lab, Bruno. He was exactly like this one and still is. He's now 4 years old. I would never trade him for anything this world. He was my loyal companion during the pandemic.
I've grown up with a lot of dogs, different pure breeds and several Heinz 57s. They were all great dogs, but my favorite was a black lab named Fred. I've been looking all over for another Labrador to keep me good company in my autumn years.
That was fantastic God bless you for adopting him give him a big hug for me your friend KATHY
Wow Amazing!
Never seen the technique of tying off the harness and using a leash at the same time. That seems absolutely brilliant!
My dogs don't know the word stay, they know wait.
IVE HAD 3 OF THESE LABS..MY FAVORITE..
Ich schaue Brandon immer im Fernsehen, mag ihn und seine Arbeit sehr !!! 👍👍👍
GREAT WORK, BRANDON !!! 👏👏👏
I adore labs my favorite dog. He’s a puppy they’re always high energy. I own two
The owner will have unending karma...for abandoning your dog....thank you sir for loving him
Three months ago, I adopted a 9-month black lab who was turned in to a local shelter because the owner couldn't sell her and the other 6-month-old pups in the litter (why do people always think they'll make $$ off a backyard litter?). Her sisters got adopted right away, but Jessie sat for 3 months until I came along. I've had active dogs before (border collies), but never an active lab. It's been a lot of work as she exhibits most of the behavior I see in the video (pulling and jumping on people being the worst). I've learned that burning off the energy is the most important part of her training and after 3 months she's doing a lot better! She's overall a very sweet and good dog so we'll keep working at it. :)
Beautiful Labrador I have 5 month English Labrador it’s hard work but worth it they are amazing friendly animals
Smart baby.
Thank you for rescuing the lobby you the best👍👍👌👌
Sorry should read labby 😁
I want him
Thank you for all you do ❤
God bless you Brandon!
We should celebrate and encourage men to be like him.
What an awesome dog he is!!! He will be just fine with training. He's very friendly! He just needs an outlet for his energy. Once he's completely trained he will be an awesome dog! Labs are very smart, and they are good when it comes to training.
I have ALWAYS said, there is no such thing as a bad dog, only a bad dog owner!
There must have been a good reason to turn in a dog like that. What a sweetie
Yes, I too hope he wasn't previously mistreated. The previous owners could
have just as easily been timid and overwhelmed.
Without puppy training, my beautiful, rambunctious female yellow lab could
have been a nightmare :) But with training...OMG...she was an immense
joy for 16 1/2 years! And yes, puppy-like to the end : ) Labs are the best!!
My lab is a country lady and gets ran every day along side my truck..he looks forward to it every morning and tells me basically when it's time to go..and yes they have endless energy..
Wishing that I could train my puppy like this.
He will catch on quickly and be a wonderful companion.
Translation: the previous owner wants a cute stuffed animal and is not willing to assume the responsibilities of dog ownership.
What a handsome dog 🐕 😍
Beautiful cute save happy baby dog world today
Let the Dog be a Dog. Life is to be enjoyed not control.
Muchas gracias por el excelente trabajo qué haces que Dios te bendiga 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Poor baby 😢 I remember being that way and nobody got it
You are a wonderful human being 👍🏻👏🏻
I LOVE Labrador’s my fave breed 💕🤗
