Very under-rated,I didn't really realize how good of a guitar player he is until now & some recent a concert I watched that was almost 4 hours long, My wife saw him in Phoenix 1973-1974 bbefore making it big & he sure deserves it & being The Boss, he's a Rock and Roller

Can say that again, I was born in 84, and so wish I had been 21 years old in 1960, or there about, I'm 70% listening to 60's 70's rock, a bit of 80's, and the other 30% is electronic music from the 90's onwards.
But that modern day pop and rap etc, nah, not a single bean of it, talentless, souless tacky shite.

We were so damn lucky to live in the 60s and 70s. The greatest rock music ever made. Now I feel sorry for my grandchildren cause they Don't have any kind of great rock music. My kids had to listen to the 60s ,70s cause that's all they would hear ha and they still listen to it. With luck my grandchildren will pick up on it too.

Hi,@@frankmcchrystal4029 - I saw Bruce in December of 1980, but I think he and the band were at their absolute raw peak on the Darkness tour. The show this video is taken from, in fact (9/19/78, Capital Theater, Passaic, NJ), in my opinion, may have been the absolute high water mark for ALL of rock and roll...it all ebbed back from here...

I first saw Bruce live in the Fall of 1974 while in college. He played in an old gymnasium that fit about 2000 people, all standing. He pushed the limit non-stop for 2 1/2 hours. I saw Springsteen several times after that, but the '74 concert was, probably, still, the best concert I ever attended.

I had the good fortune to see Springsteen in Syracuse in 1978. Born to Run was NOT on the main play list. When he was done playing, Bruce said goodbye and thank you and left the stage. As one might imagine, the people in attendance started to remove the seats from the floor. (I am exaggerating here.) Bruce returned to the stage by jumping off a stack of speakers, hitting the first notes of the song as he landed. The roof came off.

Either 19th or the next day 20th. Passiac was the first venue to have a large video screens besides the stage. That's why you find more black/white footage from The Capitol Theatre around this time. I've seen concerts of Zappa and I think Fleetwood Mac aswell.
The sound however is from a highgrade bootleg from a radio broadcast. Most probably called Piece de Resistance". The footage is unfortunately incomplete.

June 26, 1978....Queen Elizabeth Theater, Vancouver BC.... I met The Man, greatest concert, none even close. Perfect acoustics, small venue, 7th row aisle seat. They took out 1st 5 rows so Bruce & Clarence had a lower stage. Face level w audience. 15 feet away, from me, watched the sweat rolling down his face. 2:45 of the greatest concert ever. Even the intermission music was fab. 1st song "Be My Baby", 2nd track "Pretty Woman", we were transfixed. Being from The Motor City, "The Detroit Medley" was the way to close the show. Stunning! In my mind, it's like yesterday.

August 9, 1978 the Date lives on in HISTORY as Bruce and the Boys tore up the Legendary Agora Stage in Cleveland, Ohio. He also tore up the Airwaves as this concert was broadcast live on WMMS 101 Fm Cleveland and to I believe 8 additional Cities.
What a Night that was, It is written and documented that the Band itself says they played better than they ever had at this show. Everyone on the stage was at their peak together.
I saw the ending show(s) of this Tour as he returned for New Years Eve to close the Tour.
I recall the show began at 8:40pm, and finished near 1:30/40am. The Stage was burning. Firecrackers blowing off near Bruce's Eye.... He didn't balk, he was P O'd but didn't let it interfere with the show.
In Total before he left Cleveland 1/2/79 he played 56+/- songs as he returned for New Years Day as a Added Date to the Tour. I attended both shows. So glad I saw this Tour live, Things were never the same afterwards.

He insisted that she stand up and then warned her that everyone in the audience now knows what she looks like, so she’d better behave! Also told the story that when he was growing up, his father would always complain about the noise from that “goddamned guitar” - he then announced that for the next song they were going to “turn it up!” And the did!
