- (February 2023) Here are two insanely HIGH hydraulic elevators at the Drury Inn & Suites St. Louis Southwest in Valley Park, MO. One of these elevators is glass and the other one is in the middle of the hotel. Both of these elevators have series 1 buttons.

I’m shocked and surprised that these Otis elevators are not traction! 7 floors, not traction, are you kidding me?!?!
I've been on an 8 floor hydraulic before. I was surprised those weren't traction.
That piston goes at least 70 ft. underground .. quite a high-draulic!
It's crazy how tall this thing is.
beautiful lobby!
This might be the exact hotel I stayed at a long time ago. These were the first Otis Series 1 elevators I have ever ridden.
Wow...that is a very big suprise to see this...
I like that quote before we ride that elevator we have another elevator I wish that it was every building with a glass elevator that did that
Amazing glass elevators
Very high.
What an epic HIGHdraulic! I may actually be staying here this August, if I go.
Cool!
Nice elevators, but traction would be ideal. Not sure if there is a design element preventing overhead machine rooms (I don't know much about the Drury brand.).
Door close button works
There is an eight story tall hydraulic elevator here in SA @ a janky-dingy Hilton hotel off the I-10. Not sure of its maker, but there are at least two of ‘em inside the raggedy hotel!
This is just like the Market Parking Garage in Roanoke. I was expecting a Traction elevator for a hotel like this
I’d except a traction as well. I was shocked to see hydros.
I love that atrium!
I do too!
High hydraulic
0:30 Internal Elevator
2:11 Glass Elevator
Stating obvious
is the second elevator the service elevator
Hydraulic elevators are much more common in newer buildings in my city than the traction ones. It's probably because of how much cheaper they are. And many buildings which have 7 floors (including mine) also have hydraulic elevators. I mean I'm living in Europe, surely the "standards" are different in the US, but I just wanted to let you know that it's not that uncommon here :)
Interesting
Seems like they could add a second elevator in the atrium if traffic needs dictated it.
It could probably be done, but there are already 2 elevators.
Amazing and Epic in my opinion! I love Series 1! These are nice elevators with nice motors! Too bad the fans are on though 🥺😭😞
They aren't on though... look at the switches.
@@stlelevators oh I thought they were, I thought I could hear the fans on sorta but I guess not
@@stlelevators interesting how they have hydraulic elevators for 7 floors instead of traction both internal and glass
So the center door is glass but single speed isn’t
I've found 2 8 floor glass Hydraulics before.
Otis Hydraulics?
@@elevcarwashsirensandmore21 Nope. One was a KONE, and one was a possible Schumacher.
Why can’t I film so much anymore? I’m cutting back on that.
it's weird how there's not a wall that the glass elevator goes up into from the lobby ceiling
A wall?
@@stlelevators basically at most drury hotels, the glass elevator goes up into the ceiling, but this specific hotel doesn't have that
Oh now I understand. I’ve seen that in some other Drury hotels.
Before we ride the glass elevator we have another elevator what for Jason
There are 2 elevators here.
Is one Otis series one and the other Otis series five
Both are series 1
As impressive as the height/depth of the jack is, it all seems out of place with the architectural lines showing suspension... It's as if the whole building is hanging top-down (very cool by the way) and the elevators should be too. They're nice though... just odd for this particular bldg.
