- We just purchased a set of Toyo's latest generation all-terrain tire, the Open Country AT3, to mount on our 2006 Nissan Frontier project truck. In this video we take a quick look at the this tire and compare it against some of the other all-terrain tires on the market.
CORRECTION: We made a comment in this video that the Toyo AT3 was the first tire in the Toyo Open Country line-up that was three peak mountains snowflake rated, however we were reminded by a viewer that the Toyo Open County C/T was actually the first. This is a lesser-known tire, but still available in the U.S.

What load range did you go with ?
As of right now the 305/70R17, which we went with, is only available in a load range E.
Which would you say is "more aggressive" General ATX or Toyo AT3?
I'm trying to find a very aggressive at tire, without going to mt, and am kind of stuck between these 2
Kind of a toss-up. I would say the Toyo tread is more aggressive (bigger lugs and voids) but the ATX looks more aggressive in some photos because of it's sidewall? I would really check out the new Nitto Recon Grappler or the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss (most aggressive A/T I've seen) if you haven't already.
You want super aggressive looking check out net Cooper rugged trek
Hi Grady
Open country C/T has held the 3PMS rating since its release.
You are correct. Had forgotten about the C/T when editing this video.
@@TrashPandaGarage No worries; I think they’ve been out since ~2014, and there’s hardly any feedback on them on the interweb compared to other tires.
@@Icutmetal We appreciate the reminder and entered a note about it in the video description. Thanks!
Is that a divorced atlas setup?

@@TrashPandaGarage could yo send me some pictures of your mounting arrangements? I’m thinking of doing this with a Tacoma!
@@TrashPandaGarage what gearing did you pick for low?
@@albertbrucker136 We'll try to post a truck update video pretty soon and I'll get some footage of the crossmember I built mounted up. We went with a 3.8:1
@@TrashPandaGarage how did you go about your front differential? I was thinking of using a 3 way switch with forward reverse and neutral for the electric motor in the ADD. Automatically disconnecting differential.
