  • N3140D operating BW 484 POS to MIA. I deeply regret not filming more as I didn't appreciate that it would be my last ever ride on this type. Enjoy the short clips and apologies for my amateur filming. Can you recognise the celebrity asleep in First Class?

I was a flight attendant for BWIA. And was privileged to have been on the flight from Palmdale California to Piarco Airport. I was also on the first flight from Piarco to New York, Kennedy the next day. It was an extraordinary experience that I will remember all my life u, and it has been over 40 years. The best years of my life. It was fun. It was educational, and so much more. Thank You Bee Wee. I had the time of my life!! Lynda Francois Trotman

So loved the BWIA tristar L1011 hibiscus service, brings back sweet childhood memories. Flying was more enjoyable back then and the food was good. I use to fly almost every summer for holidays between Trinidad and NY. I miss the old terminal and viewing gallery too!

Thank You very much for sharing this video. The tristars is my favorite aircraft. I remember my first flight on the BWIA tristar in Oct 1988. The reg# was 9Y-TGJ.

Wow! This video brings back so much sweet memories! I flew on This L1011 from GEO to BGI when I was 12 years old! It was the best experience of my life! Those were the good ‘ol days I remember the roar of the engine when it rolled down the runway the adrenaline that ran through your body! And how HUGE the cabin was! Air travel has truly changed after all those years! I’m now 36 years old and flying is not the same!

      Are you sure?
I don't think the Tristars ever went to Guyana.

Awesome footage! Thanks for sharing! I never got to fly on the L-1011. Delta flew a ton of them-about 70.

Very nice video. Thank goodness we were allowed into the cockpits pre-9/11.
The L1011-500 was the best model ever flown by BWIA / CAL. A very comfortable aircraft for passengers.

wow these cabins are huge compared to the pencils we have now

I always found the L10 so much more comfortable than that stuffy CAL 737 they have now.

For such a tiny island amongst the rest of the world, Trinidad really used to be something. Solid, prospering and growing economy, forward thiking education system and the majority having high, strong core values. Until the turn of the century that is. Now, it is unrecognisable and what once was a very entrepreneurial nation has turned into a haven for corrupt people. Beautiful but sad memories. I'd be a child in 90's Trinidad all over again if I could lol
(My last flight on BWIA was in January 1997 from TTPP-TLPL-EGLL. To think new "management" sold their Heathrow slots worth millions after turning the livery to a green monstrous thing...unforgivable)

This video has provided some valuable info that I was searching for. Wanted to know if BWIA used INS or FMS for navigation on the L1011. The answer was provided at 0:58. Thanks for posting.

I thought all POS flights were worked by 'Sunjet Trinidad'. This one is operated by 'Spirit of St Lucia'..?

Nice amateur footage. I don't think I've seen any video of a BWIA L-1011 in this - the original scheme - at the airlines' home base - other than this!
Man what I'd do to see video of a old BWIA 707 in this scheme.
Do you live in POS or the States?

The 737 was designed for profit, not creature comfort. Too bad airlines don't use L1011 anymore.
