LOL I just couldn't stop laughing while feeling sorry for Pedro at the same time.
Same
getting sprayed is the worst when sniffing 🤣
Roxy is keeping an eye on pedro.. she doesn't want him to steal the food lol
Pedro is such a sweetie! The slowmo of his face when Phoebe went at him was pretty funny 🤣
Oh yes I know, there's one frame in particular, I'll have to put the screenshot of it in the next video... poor Pedro... but also hilarious 😆
Phoebe is precious. I love Abyssinians.
Pedro was my favorite piggy I will miss him rest in peace Pedro💐
there are different ways of introducing a new animal to the herd. A very common one is putting a barrier between them so they can smell, communicate and see eachother and at the same time they can retreat. So they can do it in their own pase. No stress, no risk....
Miss Pedro, so sweet, so humble. 😢Miss Lyra too. Watched video again because I thought It was Nacho meeting the girls lol. Pedro and Lyra such amazing piggies and so loving.❤
This did make me chuckle with the little subtitles of the piggies’ thoughts ! 😆 “ she’s Crazy” 😆 Poor Pedro bless I shouldn’t laugh I hope he settles in very soon x
They remind me so much of a Tv sitcom😂 Pedro just tryna be the new kid and Roxy letting him know that no one gets in between her and her girls!
I Love Pedro and his cute little comment. And the girls had some cute comment as well
Glad he is fitting in nicely!
Pedro looks like me in the morning messy hair!🤣
Your channel is such a joy! I look forward to seeing Pedro’s journey with his new sisters. He couldn’t have gone to a better home =)
Awh thank you so much!! ❤
I think Pedro and Lyra actually make a cute couple. :-) Pedro both breaks my heart and fills it at the same time. He is so gorgeous and sweet and lovely. I just feel bad for any piggy that either had to live alone or was in a hoarding situation. Saskia just rescued nearly 300 piggies in a horrible situation and I cried through the night thinking of all those piggies with lost eyes, torn up ears and teeth, broken legs, wounds, etc. You fill my soul with how thoughtfully you care about piggies and how devoted you are to their care. Thank you for saving Pedro, no matter what he previously had been through. He is safe and loved now. As for Phoebe, I expected that little spitfire to cause a ruckus, but Roxy!? In my 33 years of pigs, I NEVER heard a hiss before! Wow! I thought she was a little crocodile or something. hehe I know that sometimes it takes time to establish a new hierarchy so it may take Pedro time. But still looks like Phoebe might rule the roost until Pedro is ready. Kind of like that crazy Gatsby with poor new Max. Took him awhile to really take over, as he is so sweet and laid back. Seems like Pedro is laid back too.
Thank you! I would encourage anyone to rescue adult piggies, in many ways it is more rewarding than giving youngsters a home. I also saw the LA gp rescue and was also in tears! They are in safe hands now bless those beautiful piggies. Haha, Roxy surprised us all! But she is much calmer now, and yes Pedro is extremely laid back, he loves a good snooze! 😴😍
@@SqueakDreams Bless you! Yeah, everyone loves a baby piggy, but many aren't interested in adults or older piggies or ones with special needs. Kind of like adoptions with people. They want babies, not older kids. You're the best and I can't stop loving watching Pedro and all his hair move around! He has pep in his step!
@@SqueakDreamsso funny!! Poor pedro 😂....Just wondering what breed the grey and white girl is ? And are the little orange girl and the tri coloured lady a teddy ? Predro is a peruvian ?
Eeeeeeeee! My Saturday is now complete! Can’t wait to see how Pedro is getting along! 🥰
Awh I hope you enjoyed!! 😀
@@SqueakDreams I did! Loved it!
That is too cute, he is just annoyed but the girls are soo curiuos
Awww poor Pedro😍It's tough being the new piggie in the herd. Bless him. Hope things are calm now and the pecking order is being established. You have a lovely little herd there now. 💓xx
Oh my goodness it was so cute seeing Lyra and Phoebe following Pedro around and he was just unbothered
Haha yes he was only slightly freaked out 😂
@@SqueakDreams I think you're right. He doesn't seem to have girl expirience. I've never had a male who didn't start rumble strutting instandly. But he's adorable 😍.
I prefer usind hidies with more than one entrance because the rank lower piggie can get easy away.
He’s new to the “Ladies Man” life 😎
I just love your videos. Adorable piggies, great information, humor, and a beautiful hooman! I had a lone Guinea pig, Zoomie. She was very small when she came to me, so I think she is just about 18 months old. I felt so guilty she was alone, and she wanted me to be there with her like 24/7! So I got her 2 sisters that a family was rehoming because they got a new dog and it was bothering the piggies. Anyway, I have tried to bond them, but to no avail. I can't do a neutral bonding pen, I live in a tiny trailer and the piggies have most of the living room, with a CC fence running down the middle of it. Cheddar and Beef are reportedly around 3 yrs old, together since the beginning although they definitely have their issues. At first I thought it would be okay, but it turns out Zoomie hates Beef and has been so aggressive the house's pillow was quite bloody. Zoomy has drawn blood twice now. So back we go to side-by-side. Zoomie rumbles loudly almost all of the time. She tries to get through the fence, and she is constantly letting Beef know that Zoomie is Alpha. I think Cheddar and Zoomie would get along, but with Beef in the picture it's total tension. What can I do? I am heartbroken. Zoomie lets me pet her and brush her, but still won't let me hold her. I just want the girls to be a herd and be there for each other. I feel so guilty and sad. The piggies are 3 different breeds. Beef is an American Guinea pig. Cheddar is a Crested American piggie (smaller than the other 2) and Zoomie is a Silkie (Shelty).Beef and Cheddar were raised on rabbit pellets. I got them eating Guinea pig feed as soon as I could, weaning them slowly. The have what I want to call sway backs, which I would think due to not enough Vitamin C? They don't seem bothered by the condition, and they definitely get enough Vitamins now, they just look kind of different. Do you think there is any hope for my girls becoming a herd? Thank you so much for all that you do, Sarah, for the piggies, and for of us hoomans! You are my hero!🐹💐
Pedro is adorable! He will have a great life in your care!
Thank you I hope so!
That’s awesome news!❤️
That scared face of Pedro in the tunne. It was like silent wheek: "somebody take that gorgon, please please please"
i love how you don’t care about fillmong when pedro got beat up:(( you really do care a!! ❤️❤️
It was so cute seeing those guinea pigs run around and meet they're new friend! I hope they're excited I was scared to get a boy guinea pig because they multiply like rabbits so I stuck with girls but I hope they love him!!! ❤
Thank you! Pedro is neutered so thankfully no babies 😅
Lyra was a cutie!🥰 I know she is in a better place now.
❤❤❤ 🐾🐾🐾 So sweet animals
his hair is GORGEOUS 🥺
Even though he passed on he’s still is so “inspirational” you could say. I bought my first 2 pigs from Petsmart and didn’t plan on getting another piggy bc my 2 males Carmel and Fudge seemed so happy together. After watching the passing video (rest his soul) and finding out he’s from a shelter/rescue I decided to look at the DCHS and found a cute Abyssinian pig. I filled out the forms for (then) Little Friend and the next day got him. I named him Peanut Butter and I’m so glad I looked into rescue rather than pet store. PB is the friendliest of my 3 and I’m so happy to have gotten him. Thought you might like the story.
Good job Pedro-what a lovely gentle soul he is, Sarah. He did so well and I hope he's settling in nicely now and the girls are being kind to him!? Jemma x :-)
Hi Jemma, thank you, he is a gentleman! He's still shy of the girls but he's enjoying his new home and yes the ladies are being much gentler with him bless! 🥰
Was so fun watching their little adventures! Hehehe Pedro is just sad there like ‘ me not movin ‘ . I love your piggies so much 🥺
I’m going to introduce my boys this week. A baby and a ten month old. I’m praying it goes this well!
Pedro suits him so well with all of his crazy fur! Thank you for sharing this video and as always keep up the good work 💗
Thank you so much!
Pedro's hair is so fluffy!! Love the video.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
I've just realised that the blue bowl in the bonding area is the same one as the one that I just got!
Nice!!
Aww 🥰 Pedro is so cute!!
Pedro says thank you! ❤
Pedro is a DOLL!!! What a piggy, and he's such a laid back piggy, I want a Pedro! You know, the curling of his nails, maybe he didn't get them cut regularly, so they're curling, but if they're thick, he could be close to 3 years old. Looking at him, he looks about 2 and a few months. As far as his interaction with the girls, I think you're right, I think he was a lone piggy, he doesn't really interact with them much! You know, I hate when my piggies kick each other out of houses and beds, lol!
Yes good point about the thickness of the nails too, we are also thinking around 3 years. Haha they are little pests with each other aren't they! I'm like... why can't you be nice! 😂
Some hilarious commentary from the piggies there and some incredibly cute footage. Something I’m definitely interested in learning even more about is the bonding process and how best to start a herd - we are hoping to eventually have 3-4 sows and a neutered boar, and until I started researching piggies, the interactions you can often see when they’re sorting out their hierarchy would’ve really scared me, but a lot of that can be normal and you need to leave them to sort it out ... right? It’s a tricky one to know when to intervene and instinctive to want to protect the underdogs! Plus I would’ve expected that the male would eventually take boss pig role but I’m guessing not always?
Fabulous vlog as always x
Thats right. The piggies must sort out their hierarchy at some point, mostly at their introduction, but sometimes also at random times 😁
Chasining, mounting, threatsounds and nibbing are totaly normal and shouldnt be interrupted. A rule of thumb: Separate them if there are bloody bites or they bit a cleft in each others ear.
Boars mostly take the leadership but not always. That depends on the size, age and charakter ☺
@@Kelari313 a terrific reply - thank you 🙏
You seem so nice I am so glad Pedro can spend an amazing life with you ♥️
Aww he is going to fit in so well! Welcome to a new wonderful life Pedro!
😄🥰
Wow, I have had several male guinea pigs in all-female groups over the years and I have never seen a male be so uninterested in a group of females before. This was so much fun to watch!
Yes I was worried he would stress the girls, but he's truly a gentleman haha!
@@SqueakDreams Haha, wish I could say the same! I have one male in with four females and another male-female pair and all you hear is rumble-strutting.
AWWWWWWWW 🥰♥️‼️ Pedro is outnumbered 😂
Aww congratulations

Yay! ❤️ This makes my day
Love the cuteness overload 💕 thank you for the video 😍🙂
He is a gorgeous boy. It is that they good along. Hope they continue to get along. God bless
Thank you ❤
Ekkkk! I have been waiting for this! Pedro is so cute!!🥰💕🥺
What interesting info. about using the nails to guesstimate guinea pig age! I'd never heard of that, and always wondered why my piggies' nails curl despite my keeping them trimmed. 🤭 I hope Pedro is getting accepted more into his new family each day! 😊
Yes, it's just something that always seems to happen, especially with the front feeties! Thank you! 😊
Pedro is soooooo cute!!!!!!!!!
Really so cute 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love u smmm I recently got two piggies and u helped sooo much
same i got my piggies 2 days ago 🧡
Thank you! 😃🌻
Bless Pedro and your girls, love them all! I'm a bit behind on the videos so they're probably properly settled now, but when I bonded Buster and Florence someone suggested bathing them together as they bond over what they might consider to be quite a traumatic experience for them (by guinea pig standards, as not many pigs I've had have enjoyed bath time!) It also makes them all smell the same too. Of course slightly easier when its just the 2 piggies to contend with! Still love to see the videos :)
Thank you Katy! I have heard bathing can help, but it is also stressful (usually) so I would be in two minds about trying it!
Hello! I’m a new subscriber and thanks for your great info posts! Pedro looks a bit like my Cookies- Sheba mini Yak! Is he? Love your channel & your gippis❣️
(My nickname for guinea pigs) ps. My Cookies is really shy too.
Thank you so much and welcome!! I like gippis as a piggie nickname! Pedro is a peruvian, sheba mini yaks tend to be a mix of peruvian and abyssinian with more rosettes along their body - Pedro only has two on his rump 😊
Ah so brilliant to watch and he is super cute. I have 3 rescued girls - mum n her 2 daughters. They don't behave typical of gp's. They are practically silent and it's taken me nearly 10months to get them to eat veggies. They have settled down a bit, but they were super scared when I first got them and they bicker amongst themselves, nose bumping, rearing and launching with lots of teeth chattering. I haven't tried to rush things and they will now take food from my hand. I have also been thinking of trying to bond them with a neutered boar to help settle the dynamics - this will be in a boarding situation at a local rescue. Who knows if it'll work!!
Will look forward to seeing your updates.
Well done on rescuing piggies and take the time to bond and tame them, your hard work will pay off I'm sure ❤. Definitely sounds like the best option taking them "piggie dating". I hope it goes well! 😀
Adorable vids 😍😍 but could you tell me what the song is around 1:30? It's gorgeous
PHEOBY AND ROXY ARE MEEEEAAAAANNNN!!!!!!
Pedro's a beautiful piggie Sarah, I wondered if he'd been in the submissive one in a pair of males. I found that my Peruvians' hair gets chewed by other piggies and he seems to be beautifully adorned, so maybe you're right and he was a solo piggie ! x
Thank you ❤ yes perhaps! And interesting about the hair, I've definitely seen Phoebe looking at it with a hungry glint in her eye 😂. Pedro was at the adoption centre since November so we know he was definitely on his own for a decent chunk of time recently, with nobody chewing his hair!
With my two guineas I got around a week and a half ago one we think is biting the other fur off. We looked it up and found that its called barbering? We got a tunnel and hammock to entertain them a bit more but do you think it could be anything else?
I like Pedro
I had to wait for my boy to be neutered took about 2 months from the time we got him til he was safe to be with the girls i had them separated only by grids for those 2 months with a rare "highly supervised" lap visit. When it came time for the full meet and greet it went so smooth only on of our 7 girls had any reaction and shes the one who ALWAYS has reactions lol. the rest just kinda looked at me wondering where the veg was. Rocky still mounts often but he settled in nicely.
Awh glad your Rocky settled in well with all those lovely ladies!! 😀
Pedro is so cute ❤️ Is he a peruvian?
hi my two girls are showing a bit of dominance behavior and i was wondering how i could make it more peaceful
Pedro aka floofie, looks like he liked Lyra.
A hidey with only one entrance isnt optimal for introductions but it seems to worked out quite smooth:)
Yes good tip! I guess I wasn't expecting too much confrontation but that's a really good thing to bear in mind for introductions 😊
So cute. I feel a little bit sorry for Pedro, it's pretty clear he doesn't know what to expect from the girls. Also, I'm a bit amused that Roxy's bossing him, since she's half his size and half his age. Hope things go well! (Also, did Lyra get a haircut? She looks less fuzzy than usual.)
Thank you and yes I know it seems that way, he is still very confident and doesn't seem stressed though 😊 Roxy has been much calmer with him too now. Lyra's hair thins and gets fluffy again, due to hormonal changes from ovarian cysts. She doesn't really need hair cuts anymore, bless her. We're always weighing and keeping close track of her health ❤
Rest in peace pedro 😔🙏
He is so beautiful 😍
He makes you want more Piggies, he is lovely
I was surprised when you said his age
I think he might be just under a year as he looks a little smaller than the girls, just see if he grows and he would be less than a year n a half so that's a good indicator aswell, with his nails they could be down to not having their nails done until he goes to the RSPCA, it can be hard to tell though
I hope he fits in well with Roxy and she settles, Lyra does not seem to bothered by him so that's good
Thank you! He could be but I think more likely he's around three years, various tell tale signs, also he was at the rspca since November and only ready for rehome recently. The girls are slowly warming to him and he to them 😄🥰
@@SqueakDreams aww thats lovely, I am glad he is settling in well 😊
So far not too bad with the introductions. I think it's better that Pedro is submissive at this stage - he doesn't want conflict. I'm sure all will be good in the next few days/weeks ☺️
that’s cute 🥰 (4th view and like 🧡)
Love your piggies! I have a 10 months old pig but she is really aggressive so I haven’t been able to pair her up with anyone. Just wondering if it’s okay to try pairing again only after a year or so? I assume slightly older piggies might be less aggressive and more welcoming ?
Generally piggies need companions. Think you should try it again. Probably with a neutered boar. Dominance, chasing, thread sounds... are normal and shouldnt be interrupted as long there is no blood or wounds.
Maybe you can cooperate with a rescue station and ask for advice 😊
Hey! How do I know if my boys are co existing simply or actually happy living together?
Whats the best way of getting piggies to use a fleecey house, ours we just moved inside after having them 4 days and they only sleep in anything with hay inside :(
If they only had hay before they probably just need time to realise that fleece is also for sleeping and is super cosy! But some just prefer to rest in hay too, that's why I like giving big piles of it 😃
Wot you get more I got 21 guinea pig, 8 rabbit, 2 cat and 1 hamster
woah that must be all so expensive
Ah I love Pedro and the girls so much!
I’m looking for a bit of advice, I’ve got an adopted male (not yet neutered) who was kept in a small enclosure with 2 other males, he got into a lot of fights and ended up losing an eye before I was able to adopt him, from what information I got he was the aggressive one so I decided to house him on his own, he is now seeming a little bit down and lonely, I’m frightened of adopting another guinea pig just in case he becomes aggressive again. Would you recommend me getting him a friend, if so would neutering be a good idea so he can be housed with a female? I’m a 1st time Guinea pig owner so this is all new to me ❤️
Awh he could have been the agressive one, but it can vary so much with different personality combinations. I think it would be a good idea to try and find him a friend. A young male or a spayed female would be the best options, rescues might run piggie dating and help you find him a friend. I would be wary of neutering unless he is young and you have a good exotics vet that you trust and who is very experienced with neutering piggies. Any operation is risky with piggies and risks increase as the piggie gets older.
@@SqueakDreams thank you so much for the reply! He is on the older side so wasn’t sure about getting him neutered, he does have a large enough cage for a friend so will do some more research and keep looking at rescues ❤️❤️❤️
Hi there! Have you just went on the RSPCA site looking for him? Or was it a rescue close to you that you found him in?
We just looked on the RSPCA and it brings up the closest results first, he was in a rehoming centre about an hour away from us 😊
What group of Guinea pigs mix the best for example 2 girls and a boy or 3 boys??
Hi this is totally of topic but I am currently trying to get Ginny pigs and once I do how would i introduce my piggies to my dogs or like how would I do that🤔
What is the best way to keep your guinea pigs entertained?
Most morning ruitine PLEASR ?!!!
i Have a question, i have a female and male cavy.. uh i adopted them a few months ago and my female piggie does not like the male at all, she nips him alot and just recently took a patch of fur from him.. I do not know what to do
i want to sleep but my guinea pigs are running and chatting and it’s annoying but they are too cute
Awh you'll get used to it, I used to have pigs in my bedroom and I even grew to like the sound of the water bottle at night 😂
@@SqueakDreams 😂
Tell me the hay that you use for them, please!!
She's recently made a video about hay. You can check that out:)
How old was Pedro when he died?
Will you be expanding their cage? I've heard that boars need more room than sows.
I have heard this too and we could potentially expand by a little, but for the time being the cage is large enough and they get floortime most days 😄
We're adopting a neutered male from the local RSPCA next week. We have 4 females that are around 9 months old and the new guy is a year old.
How long did it take until you had no issues at all?
Oh wow good luck and let me know how it goes! Pedro was/is an older male so he didn't do what we expected and was few submissive around the girls, he then got poorly, so by the time he got better it was really 3 months before he had settled completely. Nowadays he is very calm and rumbles occasionally, he is only riled up when one of the two younger girls are in heat - and to be honest they encourage him! They never actually mate though, but with younger piggies you might find they do. As for dominance, it really does depend on the personalities, chances are with 4 girls you may have a bossy one who might remain dominant - unless he's a super dominant pig 😊. Best of luck!!
@@SqueakDreams Sandy has settled in really well. His personality has come out very quickly, which is great seeing as it's his first time living with other piggies.
He's a mischievous little bugger, but Marshmallow will put him in his place!
The other 3 (Ducky, Gail, and Punk) took a while to get used to him, but they're all cool now.

😂❤
I do have a question! Is it ok for the opposite gender of guinea pigs to be togeter? if so, do you have to spay and neuter the piggies? Also Pedro is just so adorable!! 😊😊
Its ok, but the male should be neutered. Then you wont have problems with unexpected piggiebabies ;)
Keep in mind that boars are territorial and in a small mixed group its better to only have one male and one or more females :)
Just a quick question for your qna, what breed is Pedro?
Thank you!
Did you have them living side by side prior to bonding?
I didn't though I think they could sense each other from different rooms! 😊
I think you got a lover boy

You have some sassy girls there. Think Pedro was a bit intimidated. I hope the storm will pass and the girls accept him. I had an introduction that went on for hours and after they settled dowh a bit I've put them in the cage and there they went on for the second round. But in the end it all went well and they all get along now. It is good to see such video's where the introduction is not always smooth, because we people often see that as bullying, but instead it is normal guinea pig behavior.
Exactly, introductions are often about resisting the urge to interfere and remembering whilst things look aggressive most of the time it is normal piggie dominance behaviour :)
First
Nobody asked/cares and also your 2nd 😐
ahh i always get so anxious when i see introduction even though i know its natural behavior its kindaaa scary lookin to me, all that tension
