The part that makes me happy is that it's DM doing it. Reminds of the good old days when I did blue eyes guardragons with the world legacy priestess synchro and ended my board with a saryuja, Scarlight, Hope harbinger and borreload savage dragon xD. All the negates plus hand traps.
Entirely goated. Gotta love the homies doing well, were all gonna be behind Matchie when he tops a ycs with this. Nothing but love for the guy
I'm gonna give a little spoiler for Matchie:
- Most players still don't believe that this is a Dark Magician deck, and think is a Branded deck just because you're not playing Circle + Eternal Soul and 2x of DM or REF.
That being said, if you feel that there are better cards to use for your deck that is not part of the archetype, then just used it, because if you don't, then you are limiting yourself to improve more your build. You are a creative player, do not let that the typical paradigm thinking of "you are playing more cards of this engine than that engine, so this deck is the other engine" stops or have influence in your deckbuilding process. What makes your deck primarily are your main win conditions. That's what matters most. Your use of the Branded engine is just the route you chose to get to your main win conditions, which are the same win conditions you would have if you go for more DM engines cards in your main deck, but way better and faster.
Don't be afraid to cut Rod and add Aluber, because you have a great argument to play it, and at the end your deck would still be Dark Magician (even if others players do not believe the same).
Deck is still predominantly Dark Magician cards over Branded (even with the Extra Deck cards)

And even if he decides to cut more of the DM engine cards from the main deck and put more Branded engine, if his main win conditions are the same DM win conditions as usual (Dragoon + Village or Dragoon + Winda or more interruptions) then the deck is still Dark Magician.
So long as it still has a “Dark Magician” Engines AT all… it’s still dark magician + whatever he plays.
And vice verse… he can call it “whatever + dark magicians” deck
It’s the same.. who gives a crap what you call it! The point is you took dark magician to a ycs and rocked peoples worlds.
I took Dark Magician to a ycs when Verte was still at 3 and placed 17th out of 100 people I think? Idr it was a a while ago lol
@@gabrielcamineroehn no, thats like saying i put 3 scareclaw cards into my kashtira deck therefore its a scareclaw deck is not true.
It becomes a engine, and a engine is not the same as a deck archtype.
If he keeps removing more dmg cards, reducing the identity then its not a dm deck any more.
Have literally been building my deck around Matchies build, absolutely love it.

Interesting take on Dark magician although i would always play circle and eternal soul, it helps to grind out and deck feels to me more like dm deck rather than engine with more dm cards being in it.
Magicians' Souls and Fusion Deployment is Eternal Soul, just can't be used on opponent's turn.

But I do agree… I believe this profile is more preferred to play the deck… it seems pretty cool ngl

This was actually a store in Brampton called Dragon World Card Games and Collectibles. It was my first time there but the store is honestly really great! Super big and clean, and good vibes overall

Branded DM deck not DM deck. Pure and simple. The engine is what the deck is.
They need to create a New DM card that has a universally useful effect AND give it good support.
example:
This card is treated as "Dark Magician." This card can be special summoned by tributing 1 spellcaster from the field or your hand,
Once per turn, this card can negate a spell card and if you do, you can activate 1 of the following effects:
*Add 1 Dark Magician card from you deck to you hand
*Special Summon 1 Spellcaster from you Deck
*Add 1 Sorcerer of Dark Magic from your deck to your hand
No Equeste? Or not needed?
were you concerned at all about Kash banishing your one of Dark Magician? thats the only thing keeping me from cutting him down
You can recur him easily with Branded stuff unless he is banished face down.
One DM don't think it's a good idea NC it cab get banished..
Was this in Advanced format?
I would play two DM instead of one because called by the grave exists and you will have a bad time when its banished

Lubellion will recurr DM from the Banished pile.
But I do agree somewhat. I feel like 2 DM is handy, but I've been working with 1 myself, and I do like it.
If you're not running DMG, then add the 2nd. The way the deck is built, you don't Inherently need a DM to bring out Dragoon. Dm just get you a pop, which is handy.

You basically fuse it off using Apkallone
Send Apkallone to the graveyard with Granguignol, search Schism, use that to make Winda using the Apkallone from GY
