I have one of the very early pistol buckmarks. Slab-sided barrel. Very first firearm I owned, given to me and trained on by my dad. Later, I had the barrel turned down and threaded for a suppressor. Such a fun little gun.
My favorite bunny buster! On occasion, with some ammo, it can blow gas in your face. And this gun is the ONLY .22 that has ever destroyed a pair of shooting glasses... It's light enough to carry all day, It did NOT come pre-drilled for a rifle sling, so I got to do that too!
Great video thank you. Seeing those pistols demonstrates the absolute absurdity of gun laws. I can understand limiting firing modes I suppose but limiting certain features is ridiculous.
Thanks for watching. Basically there are two main restricting factors - no self-loading centrefires and no cartridge-firing guns with less than a 12" barrel or 24" overall length. It's frustrating and nonsensical but at least they don't ban guns based on appearance like in Australia.

@@FAI_77 Thank you so much for the kind comments, I'm glad you enjoyed my review! I think there's a lot to be said about how a gun makes you feel; I don't tend to buy things for their technical merits. It is comments like yours that encourage me to set aside some time and make more videos - it has been difficult lately, but I do intend to film more content soon. Thank you once again, I wish you all the best.
Mine is sufficiently accurate for rabbit control up to 50 Meters, using subsonic Eley 'Contact' amo, designed for semi auto .22Lr rifles. But to get it to cycle subs I had to slightly shorten the spring (to reduce its power). Lovely handling little rifle but if being as silent as possible is your objective than you'll find the noise of the blowback mechanism is actually louder than the noise of firing the subs. Therefore for serious and regular rabbit control I would recommend a bolt action or even a single shot moderated rifle.
How did you find the process of getting your firearms license in the UK ? Also would you recommend someone who has an interest in firearms to look into it ? Thank you , love the vids , keep them coming 👍👍👍
Hello! I found it very straightforward, no issues at all, but it did take a while. From when I first started shooting at a guest at my local club, it was about a year before I had my own rifle. I would definitely recommend it if you're interested in firearms, start by finding a local target shooting club and go have a chat with them, everything is so much easier when you've got people at the club to help you out. They will guide you through the process. Thanks for watching!
Hi There from the dead center of the USA. Hastings Nebraska. Just stumbled on this video. I'm curious about your interest in quirky guns. I'd enjoy an episode at your range shooting that stuff. I too have single action revolvers. 2 have ridiculously long 16" barrels. I also happen to have 1 Buckmark. Actually it's my wifes. It's not that thing you've got but it's kinda goofy looking for a handgun. It's called an Americana. Blue frame and outer barrel with 13 engraved "bright stars", curved "flag like" cutouts reveling the red inner barrel. BLOODY HELL. I think that's what you guys say.😂 i pushed subscribe and the bell. I'll be checking you out.
I've worked on several of these and the grips were all junk, warped away from the frame. The grips on these hold several internal working parts in place. I have read that the stocks for these were outsourced. If they couldn't build decent wooden grips they should have supplied aluminum or some kind of stiff composite grips.
Hey! just saw your video on the Tanaka m36 and was wondering if you could sell it to me, trying to use it for a short film but I can't find it anywhere. Please let me know if you would like to!
Hi, I'm sold all my airsoft guns some time ago I'm afraid! You might be able to find a small deactivated revolver though for similar money to a new Tanaka.
Currently torn between a 12” with a stock or a 12” LBP version, the stocked one does have a rod extension so I’m guessing someone was torn between cutting it down and not
That's interesting to have a stock and a rod. I suppose the best compromise would be an LBP version that had a detachable stock so you could use it as either. I prefer the short rifle myself, I have a few LBRs/LBPs but they just make me a bit sad to be honest.
@@ApurtureSci It’s on Herny Krank’s atm, I had hoped it was removable but needs to be cut off. I think I’ll go for it then I always have the choice of making it into a LBP if I want, would be a pretty nifty carbine with the stock
@@kanejones99 Just had a look, quite peculiar! Strange that the barrel hasn't been threaded, seems an obvious thing to do while shortening it. My guess is that the past owner would take the wood portion of the stock off to use it as an LBP, but the metal stock frame/support still being on there would make it quite uncomfortable to use as a pistol.
@@ApurtureSci Oh so can the wood butt stock be taken off? I wasn’t quite sure, suppose it’s one way to go between the two. I did hope it would be threaded but sadly not, should still be a gun little plinker
@@kanejones99 Yes, you can remove the wood portion which just leaves the metal frame which features a socket that the stock screws into. I guess the frame itself isn't quite long enough to make up the 60cm, so the rod is needed.
I'm in the states and have Browning Buckmark with the 7" Tactical Solutions barrel on it. The thing I dislike about these the most is take down and cleaning is tedious - and the little nylon buffer/retainer likes to get away. Had no idea you UK blokes had to add that ridiculous extension to your handguns. Came across your video looking up the rifle version -which is oddly CA legal. CA hates pistol grip rifles.
Nice, I'd like to try a proper BuckMark pistol some day. I agree about the disassembly, it's a real inconvenience having to remove the optic and then the rail. Yes it's pretty ridiculous, basically anything that isn't a muzzle-loader needs to be at least 24" long.
FYI.....Revolver rifles are a bad idea due to the barrel/cylinder gap. Hot gases escape between the barrel/cylinder gap when firing. These gasses can cause severe burns or potential injury to any exposed skin/ body parts. It is imperative to keep all exposed flesh well behind the barrel / cylinder gap.
It's a rather easy issue to overcome though, the Rossi Circuit Judge has some small pieces of bent steel sheet that are fixed to the crane and the other side of the frame and are apparently very effective in removing any blast that might hit your arm. I think if a quality firearm maker produced a well thought out dedicated revolver rifle it could sell well.
@@ApurtureSci It doesn't seem to be a well thought out solution though. Easily snagged on clothing or gun cases. Why must it be a revolver at all, when pistols of such a design are far more serviceable.
@@Phuc_Socialist_You_Tube I haven't found it to be too intrusive on the Rossi rifles. Fully enclosing the front end of the cylinder might be better. I can't speak for other countries but in the UK we can't have semi-auto centrefire rifles, but revolver rifles are fine.
@@ApurtureSci If people like them, fine. I am sure ,in some instances it is the only option due to regulations etc. Firearms choices are a personal matter. As for me, Ill wait for the better mousetrap. Cheers, and keep shooting, my UK brethren.
I suspect the reason you think the barrel was longer than 18 inches is that you are measuring more than the barrel. The way a barrel is measured in the US is would be from the point inside what you consider the barrel at the point where the end of the bullet casing ends. You are measuring not only the barrel but also the chamber where the bullet rests.
I've never seen a barrel measured excluding the chamber. Most of my guns are Italian or American and measure exactly as the manufacturer claims from the end of the barrel to the bolt face/breech. Even if you were to measure from the end of the chamber to the end of the barrel, that wouldn't account for a 2" discrepancy in the measurement since a .22 case is only an inch long.
@@BoogalooBoy I'm well aware of that. I've come over to shoot in the US before. We don't actually have any magazine capacity limits here though, and guns aren't restricted based on cosmetic features. Are you assuming I'm anti gun because I live in the UK?
What a great review! Really made me second guess any projects with this gun model. I was in love with the idea but now I have things to think about.
I most definitely want one of those! Very sweet little rifle.
The wood on this buckmark is surprisingly nice! almost like they made a grade 2 for it.

A beautiful and versatile rifle, light, accurate and reliable in fast trigger mode.
It's definitely a slimmer and classier alternative to the usual .22s you see at the range! Thanks for watching!
