- The last stop on our recent tour through northern Bavaria brought us to Regensburg, a former capital of Bavaria full of rich history, beautiful architecture, delicious food, and amazing beer. A city that we did not know a lot about before visiting, Regensburg stole our hearts and quickly became one of our favorite cities in Germany.

About us: Just over one year ago, after a long time of hoping, dreaming, and planning, we sold or gave away almost everything we owned and left the United States to begin our journey with four children as an expat family. We moved to Leipzig, Germany, a beautiful city in the state of Saxony. This is our story.

I'm glad that we don't have many visitors. I've heard other cathedrals of the earth are overrun, crowded and it's so loud because of it. When I step into our cathedral I'm basically by myself and it's quiet as it should be.
I spent my Junior year abroad in Regensburg thirty years ago. At that time, it was possible to ski on the Universitätsstraße because it ended at the university. The city has grown so much since then.
why is my hometown on my fy lmao
Was here in 2016; absolutely gorgeous!
This was such a great video of Regensburg. I’ve never been there. My mom was from this city. I wondered a great deal about the outskirts I the countryside.
thanks for all the recommendations! definitley helped me with compiling my own list of what to visit in bavaria. especially the restaurants and rokkoko churches.
Thank you so much for this video I have clients heading there soon for heritage and genealogy. So helpful
Nice... as always!
Thanks!
I live there and love it
I was stationed in Regensburg 1967/68. Such a beautiful place. Sad to say I never returned.

top content I like your city tours
Thanks! We enjoy exploring and making these types of videos, so there will be more in the future!
I don't think anyone can beat the Germans for architecture and quality. They have always believed in quality over quantity with everything they do or produce. Loved every minute of this tour with you and your beautiful family. Thank you
great video Guys
Thanks!
The editing and especially the music selection is super good! Great Video!
Thanks so much! Just trying to get better with every video!

I love it here :D
Maybe you were unlucky with the wurstkuchl Bratwurst because usually they are really good and on par with those i had in Nürnberg. But they also didnt look as crisp as usual on your plate🤔
Wow 4 Restaurants +1 cafe? Lol. I remember when I visited bamberg in the summer for the first time and ate couple of schweinebraten with smokebeer and ended sleeping in the car, what was planned as a short stop ended in a wirtshaustour trough the old town
Well, we had a few days to eat at different places, and I always feel like food is such an important part of experiencing a new place. Sounds like you had quite a good time in Bamberg! That smoked beer is good - I'm looking forward to trying it again sometime!
A lot of eating in this video! ;)
There's a lot of good food to eat! I feel like food is such an important part of the experience when traveling, but I may start to make two separate videos for our travels - one just for food and one for the experience. We'll see.
I’ve been living here for 20+ years, I love this city. Sadly, this will be my last year here tho…
That's awesome that you got to live there for so long! Sorry you have to leave. If we were going to move to a different city in Germany, Regensburg would be near the top of our list.
Wo ziehst du hin? (Bin auch aus Regensburg)

BMW has a factory in Regensburg.
Very difficult to hear you speak with the background music.
We've even got a restaurant with real cats in it. It's vegan and the cats are adopted rescue cats
Regnet es viel in Regensburg ?
Es regnet so viel wie im Rest von Deutschland
Bamberg, Würzburg, Nürberg, and München happen to be my most favorite Bavarian cities. However, don't forget the countrysides!
They are all great cities, and we feel fortunate to have been able to visit all of them. Something about Regensburg really grabbed our hearts though. It's amazing.
We would definitely like to see more of the countryside, smaller towns, and nature that Germany has to offer. Without a car it's a lot more difficult though!
