Received and installed mine yesterday. Two separate contacts stated that my transmit audio seemed very lite when compared to the small QYT KT-7900D transmit audio which is very clear and loud, I found that to be interesting all contacts were via simplex. I like the DR-CS25, currently using it with the M2 10 element beam very clean and loud receive, the squelch and volume knobs seem good, no sloppy play. It is a small radio, not sure what is going on with the transmit audio though. It uses the EMS-74 mic, could be a mic issue? Don't know. It looks like another Chinese version of the TYT 9000D to me based on the menu layout etc..

Oh man! I have the 235 but it only does 25 watts. Think I’ll have to upgrade!

      Ian,
      Add a B-Tech (Chinese, I know) 220 amp., drive it with 10w and you'I've got a nice 50w 220 option.

@@16mmRick Thats actually my current setup and it works really well. Btech made a solid amp, fit and finish isnt all that fantastic but im finally getting contacts again!

Yes, it makes for a nice 50w output on the band. In my case though its efficacy can only be presumed as there"s not a soul to talk to in this area on simplex. Currently my only 1.25m activity is a once weekly check in on a net; the repeater being less than 2 miles from my QTH. All those watts and no one to talk to. I envy you my friend.

Is there a DB9 on the back like the old version

There is NO DB9sub connector on the back of the radio. But there is a "mysterious" micro USB jack under the external speaker jack. I say "mysterious" because there is absolutely no mention of it in the manual. I am going to presume it is for firmware updates, but would be hopeful that it could be used to actually program the radio or do data, but I doubt it.

Alinco is a legacy brand that has been around forever. The Chinese radios are all copies of Japanese radios. Be assured the radio is a Japanese designed and built radio. Alincos are all mil spec and built like tanks.

Sooooooo? Is there a video of it hooked up? This thing seems to have dropped outta nowhere.

None yet. I'm waiting on a Diamond 220 antenna, then the weather will have to improve a bit before I can put it up

@@hamradio_testbench gotcha, a video on the menu system would be cool.
