I'm DEAD. That was golden. All Love ❤
Kinda rude aren’t I
I’d say 23% this episode.
just like siblings lmao, it's the best
Oh man, that was too funny. Love that they have that type of relationship though.
I love how much Seth is enjoying it too.
Wesley Vissers just did an interview where he was basically saying he does Mike's style of training, even using the same terminology used at RP, without directly mentioning Mike, and he attributed this to his success at winning recent Arnolds.
Nick's physique changed dramatically recently, and he attributed that to adopting RP style training too.
It seems a lot of top pros are adopting similar style of training that Mike is preaching and saying they're better off for it.
I mean there has been that type of training before Mike. There is a reason why they did not mention Mike because that style has been around
Wesley is training Jordan Peters style but with RIR 1 in compounds and RIR 0 in isolation movements, he doesn't program his mesocycles as Mike either. Mike went to RIR3 in week 1, RIR2 in week 2, RIR1 in week 3 and RIR0 in week 4, then deload, that's literally his method, which neither Nick nor Wesley do. In regards to Nick, the only thing he changed was staying leaner in the offseason, using less PEDs and using full range of motion, that's it.
They don’t eat like him though 😂
@@maenlest17 to put this in perspective less probably means something like lower the tren about a 100 mg and up the masteron instead another 400 mg or so 😂
How come Wessley give him his props then? Also Nick and Jared Feather both have torn hamstrings 🤷🏼♂️
Yooooo 3 hour bro chat?! Fouad blessing us this time around, appreciate you Hoss🙌
This is the crossover we've all been waiting for 🙏
Just missing Mike.
@@kevbeaudry276Aw, shoot. I think Mike and Dr. Mike were on the last one together, so at least there was that!
Better than the avengers
Dr. Mike is the man lol
Micronutrient content, fiber, digestion, food volume, blood glucose management, length of time amino acids are available for use. Food sources absolutely matter
ABSOLUTELY! Amen
I cant believe no one mentioned micronutrients during that debate
100% anyone with a brain knows this.and also knows there is always a more optimal way of doing something... to say none of those things matter is hilarious..
I can't either im surprised they said nothing about micro nutrients...
When is your pro debut?
Hey @FoudAbiad and team. I am a Harvard PhD candidate biochemist and on the discussion of a calorie is a calorie… of course it is. By definition calorie is the thermal energy required to raise 1gram of liquid water 1 degree Celsius. So no matter what you do a calorie is a calorie. However, you have an argument for Whole Foods being arguably more optimal, but you are just probing the wrong questions. You should focus more on micronutrient differences and problems with contamination with microplastics. And differences in food volume and hunger signaling with in intestinal cells. Hope this helps.
I'm billionaire
Im a stripper
@@ryanziolkowski6743 Do you shop on TEMU?
I disagree, I invented electricity and own an air fryer and I think that a calorie from dog shit raises a degree of water by 1.5 due to thermonuclear calibration. Explain that compared to a protein bar
I'm an astronaut
Seth just raising his hand in the middle of the conversation like a kid in class super excited. LOL LOVE IT
Fouad not far from half a million, hopefully we will see Ronnie joining the podcast he's very active on CZcams.

jay cutler and ronnie coleman in one episode will be dope
Dr Mike is back! I absolutely love it! Thank you Fouad for the great content as always!
You love the poor application or science and bad information?
He’s not a doctor
@@StanImali tought i m the only who did not like one thing he said.
@@user-ov6lg3rv8nyes he is?
I’m glad Fuad said to Mike about being so specific with training and then touched on why Mike wasn’t trying to optimize his nutrition micro nutrients the same as his philosophy on training! Great podcast!
Exactly the guy is like pfizer trying to say Oxycontin is not addictive
@@RBC0405agreed! The only none pro, and unlike Hany doesn’t have anyone in his roster that’s making significant progress….but he thinks he knows better and that’s why he’s not progressing… I don’t understand why people blindly listen to him. He claimed “research says” without ever bringing up the research, it’s all BS and/or miss application of the science bc he either doesn’t understand it or decide to ignore it for his purpose
@@StanImal very well said my man
Exactly, agreed with Fouad!
@@StanImal Well, i certainly don't agreed with your opinion about the debate. Firstly, Mike's approach to experimenting with his diet-ranging from strict whole foods to a more lenient regimen-embodies a scientific method in itself. He's testing a hypothesis and observing outcomes, which is fundamental to scientific inquiry. This method isn't about ignoring established nutrition principles but rather about personalizing and understanding what works uniquely for oneself. This approach, although unorthodox, does not necessarily undermine its validity.
Regarding the criticisms of Mike's dietary strategies, the concept of measurement bias is crucial. Every form of measurement, especially in something as variable as human nutrition, carries inherent biases. These biases affect the outcome of any analysis. Thus, when Mike adjusts his diet based on his own standards and observations, he might indeed reach what is known as "local optimality." It's not the universal best but could be optimal under the given conditions, restrictions and measures. It is indeed crucial, as you mentioned, that such personal experiments be eventually validated by external benchmarks, like IFBB pro show judges, to ensure global objectivity (reaching "global optimality"). Recognizing this nuance is essential in understanding any personalized dietary strategy, as Fuad said.
Lastly, the claim that Mike's references to research are unsubstantiated can be a valid critique but also an inchorence in the comment itself, mainly because someone could also take this comment at face value. In the age of information, verifying claims through independent research is crucial. Resources like PubMed or experts like Dr. Schoenfeld provide ample opportunities for anyone interested to cross-reference and understand the scientific backing (or lack thereof) behind any claim. This level of scrutiny should be a standard practice, not just in evaluating Mike's approach but in digesting all information online. But i guess if your reaction is in the lines of "Welp, that's a lot of words, too bad im not reading them", then it serves no purpose debating this topic any further.
Really needed this one today bros. Thank you for coming through good vibes
Thank you for this pod Fouad. Having a hard week at work, just started a new job. Listening while training and in my evening free time. Thanks a lot man.
Long Live The Hoss !!
Didn’t Hunter Labrada quite literally live off of just protein shakes for a very extended period of time? Is he not also a top 10 Olympian? It’s very blatantly clear that Fouad can't be wrong. I love bro chat, but Fouad changes the original argument and then aggressively tries to find common ground. He is the KING of the straw man argument. Training theory is not apples-to-apples with nutrition, nor does being a pro give you qualifications to speak on every topic. Whole food has more micronutrients. Micronutrients do not build muscle. Protein & enough calories do.
He also switched off of it because he was having issues digestively and has made incredible progress since.
Chicken or the egg 💁🏼♂️
So do you want to watch a show where everyone just agrees with each other? He does this to form a discussion.
Not just protein shakes. Hunter was blending his meals and ended up with gut issues. He just spoke about it on the most recent Cutler cast episode.
🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ he was drinking shakes not eating protein bars! Big difference here! And 2, he stopped doing it because that clearly didn’t work as well! Macro nutrients in a process bar are crap, go eat McDonald’s then if it’s just as good… micronutrients don’t directly build muscle but see how your body works if your missing micronutrients
You're actually making fouads point because Hunter made better progress after giving up the liquid diet. Hunter himself admits it, and he's never looked bigger or better
Lol this episode is what’s hard to explain like to my wife.
The “boys” group chat can get so heated over the dumbest shit.. arguing.. then like someone will send a random meme or switch the topic and everyone is laughing. She doesn’t get it, but it’s almost daily occurrence lol
😂😂
Right? This is just how a majority of conversation between men go. Banter and laughs and thats it.
Shes a chick, dude!
Seth and Dr Mike in the same episode? I'm fucking here for this one!
This is probably the best RBP lineup I’ve seen!! Or at least, my favourite!
I lost it at the "Batman is risen"🤣
A 3 hour podcast 😯😵
This must be an hour and a half of Iain vs Mike vs Fouad brawl 🤣
Haha never
Key takeaways - always full range of motion except for when full range of motion doesn’t make sense, and always if it fits your macros except for when if it fits your macros doesn’t make sense. 😅

Key takeaways:
No one knows anything and science is bullshit
🤪🤪🤪 perfectly summed up
Loved Seth taking about kids and Fouads injection of the different ways you have to parent. I have 3 and 3 step kids, 2 grandkids, and its crazy how different siblings can be. Love every podcast, always a must watch
I’ve been refreshing Fouad’s page for 2 days straight now anticipating the upload, I speak for all the bros when I say THANK YOU!!
Overall really great discussion and podcast. Thank you fellas!
I 1000% agree with fouad. Ian and seth were kinda hanging on mikes nuts here. I’m a huge fan of Seth I’ve been buying AAR gear since his first drop and watch all his videos. In his video “you are what you eat” he specifically says clean food isn’t to be replaced with junk do to its vitamin and nutrient content. I do like mikes view on a lot of topics but optimal is optimal. Any pro bodybuilder knows that .001 percent better over long term will eventually add up to 1% better over time and that could be the difference between cracking the top 5 or possibly sliding into the #1 spot.. Regardless it was another great episode. 💪💪
Science > Bro Science
Great show guys Very informative
The perfect bro chat cast! Keep these 4 guys together more!!
There are reasons why protein bars are not good for prep
1. Sugar alcohols can cause bloating
2. They are not as filling as a whole food meal
That's it. It isn't empty calories because it has high quality protein.
100% if you’re experience extreme hunger or bloating then switching to whole food or foods you know sit well and satiate you better is best. I’m assuming in mikes case it’s not causing him bloating and he is fine with his level of hunger.
Often it’s the sweeteners that mess up the stomach
@@i27v1doesn’t cause him bloating? He looks bloated all the time! Should cut the protein bars for real and reassess

Great podcast. Really loved this episode
Loooove having Mike, Seth on the podcast! Such great info and perspectives. I love that Mike looks like he has to consciously think about blinking. I couldn’t help but watch him with his blank stare and emphasized blinking 😂😂❤
Finally Mike and Seth together, a long awaited collab.
A great podcast, im half way in. Had me on the edge of the seat on protein bar discussion.
this is the episode i been waiting for fr
So do everything u possible can during a lift to get better results but then go home and slam protein bars???
Fouad definitely had a great point in regards to comparing being perfect with training to being perfect with diet and the relative inconsistency. Despite not being able to thoroughly articulate it he was actually dead on correct!
Patrick Tuor would actually be the ideal person to discuss food choices with mike. He is very detailed to that topic from what i have heard
We definitely need to have Patrick in sometime. Miss him
Yeah… “Tuor is known for pushing gear”… 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ i don’t know why but it seems like everything Mike says is grossly wrong… what’s his agenda? Another npc competitor who is going to blame not turning pro bc he didn’t want to push the gear where it “needed” to be?! 🤷🏼♂️ as a scientist, he should know that more gear is not better but hey “I’m an exercise scientist, but ignore science”, should exercise more and “science” less maybe 🤷🏼♂️
@@StanImalI was also surprised when he chatted shit about Patrick saying that he’s pushing gear, and then the protein bars argument😅😅
I mean, how can he even compare himself to Patrick, the guy is a genius. He turns guys with mediocre physiques into elite bodybuilders.
I genuinely thought mike was sarcastic or high (which I think he was), but to be so adamant and say that protein bars are the same as food…
I think it’s all the fame and popularity that went into his head. Besides a solid CZcams channel, the guy haven’t accomplished anything in the bodybuilding world.
@@user-yc6zk4ty9v yeah he clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about but still talks like he’s the authority in the matter and all that with a very condescending tone meanwhile he’s the only one on the podcast who hasn’t accomplished anything in bodybuilding 🤷🏼♂️ really strange
This was an amazing educational podcast. Loved this one!
Great listening to you guys today!
Super interesting episode, thanks and hope you keep bringing Mike on!
I wish someone brought up hunter during the debate. Why did hunter switch from all whey shakes to whole foods and then have a good response.
The debate was elite level bodybuilding and that was the prime example bars or shakes or whatever else other than the Whole Foods doesn’t work as well 😊
Anyone with a brain knows this... lol,
Hell yeah, just was thinking this morning if there would be some new Brochat in the near future. Thank tou boys 🤜🤛
Between work, yard work, and meal prep. That was a solid podcast guys!
Mike is so sure about his diet protocol yet he’s never been in shape on stage.
Why does he not post his stage shots?
Posted his whole prep then totally ghosted and acted like he never stepped on stage.
It’s great being so smart but he’s yet to translate to getting in shape.
More action less talk.
Being smart doesn’t mean you have the mental to stick to a diet
@@AshBashSneakers that isn't the point, the point is that he is bashing optimal training while eating whatever he wants on prep, for example protein bars, basically saying this shit is easy, while having a sub optimal amateur physique. He's jus being a dick for no reason.
I like Mike training philosophy but when it come to nutrition I think his approcah is lazy and is thinking really oversimplified. Even if a gram of protein from shit food is the same gram of protein as whole food, the body response will be totally different and there is tons of studies on how process food impact the body response in regard to managing blood sugar and insulin response that can be a huge factor in overall health and longevity also as energy metabolism, insulin sensitivity, hunger and satiety response, inflammation, and hormones that can all affect the way you feel and look. Also food is more than macronutriments, the micronutriments is as important as the macros, the type of carbs will also have a difference and a will be prefered for a situation vs another. Having the right amount of soluble vs insoluble fiber will be important in regard to gut health and satiety. And we know that gut health is everything, if your gut is fucked, everything else will be fucked (loosing fat, gaining muscle, your recovery, your appetite etc...) Gut health and chronic inflammation are probably the 2 things that impact the most your health and progress. I think what Fouad meant when he talked about empty calories is the lack of micronutriments in those foods. Anyway love the podcast and have a great day guys!
Super well said 👏
THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE. fucks sake. Mike really tends to ride that science shit too much.

I’m the sheep that got lost, madre
I dislocated my shoulder multiple times from rugby and other things. Had a torn rotator cuff for ages and avoided training chest and shoulders properly due to all the videos saying they are bad for shoulders. It made my shoulder much worse. When I started lifting full ROM and getting heavy, my shoulder recovered much better and never had an issue again. I've never felt the shoulder does extra work at the bottom of a bench press, if anything its always felt like the load shifts even harder onto the chest.
Did have surgery done ? Or full rommed away
@@djbravo8124 because my shoulder always went back in, I was too scared to go hospitals as I hate them lol. I got a contrast MRI done after 8 years and they said my one cuff (supraspinatus) was hanging on by threads. Surgeon said the muscle quality might be bad, so pulling it down and attaching it may lead to it all fraying. He advised to just build the shoulder up as strong as possible so all the surrounding muscles compensate. It's worked perfect so far and my tiny ass shoulders are literally 3x bigger than a year ago due to not training them properly for ages
If you’re aggressively going for extra range of motion on a bench press it’s going to be the shoulder that’s going to initiate the lift. Like the bottom of a squat the leverage of the quad won’t get you up, it’s going to be your glutes, so if you want to keep the tension on the chest or the quad, you shouldn’t exaggerate the range of motion
@@StanImal always slow and controlled!

Lol, Mike's winking at everyone...
i took a lot from this episode with the chest training. Ive had injuries in the front delt/chest area and have been so cautious about going deeper even in machine. So understanding to ease back into the bigger stretch and knocking some weight off to do so was very beneficial
These friendly debate episodes are amazing
Had the chance to meet Paul in Detroit at Halftime of the March Madness Sweet Sixteen. Such an unexpected and great surprise. Super down to earth and great hoops discussion with his cousin and him on top of training talk.
After my boilers got the win I had to gift him my hat. It’s clean I promise lol.
Thanks for all the great content long time viewer- first time commenter 💪🏻
You 100% would benefit from an entire day of whole foods vs an entire day of protein bars that's absolutely ridiculous to say otherwise. There are so many nutrients that you are missing when you substitute multiple meals a day eith protein bars. They're called SUPPLEMENTS for a reason. Not to mention, Mike started to allude earlier on in the podcast that research and data says there's no real difference but didn't actually elaborate, then later on went to give anecdotal evidence only as to why it's the same. That's why he didn't have a real answer when Fouad told him go coach an Olympian and put them on protein bars over whole foods. Absurd
This was an amazing podcast, i really liked it

Been watching the podcast since 2020 and holy shit this episode tops them all
I’m with fouad a protein bar is not equal to Whole Foods.. how many guys cheat on their diet bc they are starving.. that’s reason enough for me to say it’s more beneficial to go with a more filling Whole Foods option. I love how fouad doesn’t shy way from the argument

The news of Sam Sulek working out at RP is something I’ve been waiting for, for ages
But when you’re dieting you are definitely not getting plenty of nutritious food, fruits and vegetables… protein bars are definitely a lesser choice than whole food
@@theb33f45 well doesn’t seem like it when Mike says he’s dieting in protein bars and that it shouldn’t be an issue if you’re getting plenty of fruits and vegetables. I’m pretty shocked that a “Dr” is saying process food is just as good quality if not superior to whole food

TIL Stanimal fucking hates Dr Mike 😂
😂😂 just seen the comments too
lol I don’t hate him, I have no feelings toward Mike at all, but the lack of consistency in the thought process, his way of deflecting and the misapplication of science need to be called out.
I’m all for full range of motion of the muscle and therefore using different exercises that target each part of the targeted muscle is what I do. I don’t agree with the over exaggeration of the range of motion of the movement, it doesn’t do anything more for muscle growth. The added stretch you might feel is the fascia not the muscle and aggressively hitting the connective tissue that way is only going to hurt you in the long run. Especially if you understand biomechanics which should be a prerequisite for an exercise scientist, then going deeper in a squat takes the quad away from contracting, bc it can’t extend the knee from that position, so you would have to get momentum from the glutes at
The bottom which takes tension out of the quad. And that’s just one example
Also I don’t understand why people would listen to him, if you’re that much if genius and a master of theory you should be able to yield results for yourself or others, which I haven’t seen from Mike, so clearly there’s a disconnect between his knowledge and real world application. Just my 2 cents
