Eddy. If it was a stroke please take it as a warning to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I had a mini stroke a few years ago and now run 5kms daily aged 69. Best wishes for a full recovery but the beers and unheathy diet and lack of exercise could see an untimely end for Steady Eddy. If you want to spend a few days or weeks recovering at our house in Nonthaburi you are welcome. My Thai wife is a nurse and will take good care of you.
I'm a UK based GP. Eddie please you must get this treated. The cause of the stroke must be found. It could be an irregular heartbeat. It could be clots within your neck. It could be high blood pressure. It may even be a bleed in the brain (part of the reason for needing a brain scan). All of this can be treated. There are many other causes. If this is not treated you could have a massive stroke and die. I'm serious you're in a very risky period immediately after a stroke. You also need intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation to get your arms and legs working again. It's essential that this is done as soon as possible leaving it late will affect your recovery dramatically. Please please get this sorted even if it means going back to the UK. You need to be seen by a neurologist particularly a stroke consultant. An ordinary doctor in a hospital is not expert enough 🙏
Eddy, he's completely right of course. What happened to your insurance? Both Bangkok Hospital and Pattaya Inter have very good facilities but are expensive yet there's no waiting. Banglamung Hospital in North Naklua is a very good state hospital (lower cost) but you'll have to wait a few hours.
hi Eddie, the hospital I went to when I was sick a couple of years ago in Thailand is Bumrungrad International Hospital I can fully recommend it... excellent doctors..just off Sukhumvit.. not far from Nana... cheers 🍻
@@rinkadink66 Absolutely - Bumrungrad is phenomenal. I've been there a few times now for minor issues and medical checks. They are extremely thorough and professional. They'll babysit you every step of the way, nurses escorting you from room t room, zero language issues etc. The last time I went in there, there were three patients (including me) in the lift, and all had our "own" nurse. Mine was talking to me in English, while the others were speaking Korean and Chinese to their respective patients. I'm sure the pricing (like everything these days) is creeping up since I last was there, but I remember it being very good value for money, and they were upfront about all of the respective charges and fees, They understood not everyone was on a "two week millionaire" budget, or had the fanciest travel insurance, so would give cheap, mid-range and premium treatment options.
Bit of a silly remark go back to the UK the flight could cause further problems and plus he would need a doctor certificate saying he is fit to fly he needs treatment were he is in Pattaya
The last checkup he had in the UK showed high blood pressure and he doesn't seem to have taken any steps to address it as per his last live stream on "STEADY EDDY LIVE".

Something went very wrong for me in my own birth city…..and all of a sudden it became a very lonely and scary place. (Major cardiac artery blockages. Had to have open heart quadruple bypass surgery.)
I lived in Bangkok for 16 years and returned to the UK four years ago I am now 63 ,I left Thailand for exactly these reasons a bad day in Thailand is a very bad day , glad I returned home and feel a lot more secure exactly
@@stephentoy5210 Actually, people from any country….when something bad happens want to go back to their birth area. A Thai person living in Canada might want to return to Thailand. A person from India might want to return to his home city in India. It’s a feeling of “security….I’m home”. But sooner or later….the final day comes for us no matter where we are. These feelings of “security” ….in reality…..are false feelings.
Eddy. Please contact me ASAP. We have prepared our guest room for you and will see that you have the best care while you recuperate. We recommend an MRI ASAP to ascertain any risks or damage to your brain and will be with you during the entire process if you elect to have one. Job done! Get your shit together and have a scan. All the best Steady Eddy! If you don't like hospitals your definitely not going to like morgues! All most certain they want operate on you!
A brain scan will tell you what the next steps to avoid death would be. To gamble your life over £250 doesn't make any sense. Good luck and here's to a speedy recovery.

Hi Ed, I’m a healthcare worker and my advice is to get a scan. I understand you don’t want to know the ins and outs of all the details but if you have it done at least you can move forward. Take care of yourself mate 👍
@@user-uf1nf5tk1c Honestly getting on a 12 hour flight when you've just had a suspected stroke and may have clot(s) is not a great Idea. He needs to be properly evaluated in situ in Thailand with scans and blood tests, echo etc etc to see where he's at. IF he's stable to travel then yes I agree he should go home to the NHS as he's clearly made absolutely no provision budget wise for his health care needs abroad.
My wife can arrange a cat brain scan for 3000 baht or less and an MRI at low cost if required. Dont worry. Early diagnosis and treatment of mini strokes is inexpensive here if you know where to go. My wife will help you.
@@Richard.oo7 The way he said this has thrown a spanner (wrench) in the works, sounds like he might call it all off and fly back to England. But flying with stroke possibilities might be a bad idea with the stress and change of air pressure during flight. If something happened half way through the flight…..it could be many hours before arriving at a hospital.
Eddie, a brain scan will tell the neurologist what type of stroke you’ve suffered. They can then assess your treatment.Take it easy and best wishes for a full recovery
A MRI of the brain will simply confirm or rule out the stroke. i have experience with a person who has had 5 strokes over the last 10 years. We reviewed a brain scan after the 2nd event and were pointed out a loop or broke circle in a picture of brain material. The cracked and missing material from the circle was the blood vein and the missing material was the result of an explosion, perhaps caused by some stuck junk which decided to take a river boat cruise and floated around in the blood veins. In this person case, the fix was an operation on the neck to replace clogged arteries. Your very very lucky but you do require follow up care to find the source and to manage the problem. Doing nothing will likely kill you or else leave you seriously crippled but with proper care you should stay safe and the weakness should dissipate. You might want to suspend this trip for a while to get some medical care. Good luck.
The last meal of the self-condemned? I'm curious though; how is he able to film, edit, and publish vids after claiming he's struggling to walk and can't move his right arm?
Eddie I have been to that very same hospital. It’s basically a training hospital. It’s too long a story but go to the hospital at the opposite end of Soi Bukou and turn left. They saved my life there in 2019. If you have had a stroke I strongly urge you to call off Cambodia and at least get scans. You are not committed to surgery there. I’m thinking of you and wishing you all the best. 🙏
@@NDTViThailand Near Soi 8 across 2nd road (for people who've never been there). I've gone there a couple times and they helped sort me out when my shoulder was in extreme pain. PLEASE READ THIS EDDY, i went to the hospital in Pattaya for a suspected stroke, like you, i didn't want to pay the money for a scan, as i never had insurance, a week later i collapsed on Jomtien beach. My wife and 2 guys got me into a taxi, took me to my room, i was on the bathroom floor for 2 days being sick fighting for my life, when i was able to sit up, i couldn't talk. That was 1yr and half ago. I am still not 100%. I still have trouble speaking and spelling. don't be stupid like i was , take 75mg of Aspirin everyday and carry 300mg with you if you feel a stroke coming on. The scan would have put me on medication to reduce the chance of having a massive stroke that i did
aspirin is a life saver if clots are the cause, but deadly to take if a bleed is triggering the stroke (you just bleed more)... he needs the scan to find out what's causing it
After having major open heart cardiac artery bypass surgery …I’m now taking six pills a day of various types of cardiac medication Three in morning and three in the evening. One of them is a tiny 81 mg low dose aspirin…(acetylsalicylic acid). One a day. Doesn’t really matter what time I take it. They just said take it the same time every day if at all possible.
Hi Eddie, all the best for a speedy recovery. Listen, please don't take this the wrong way but back last summer you did a video in a garden in the UK entitled "HOW I INTEND TO LIVE CHEAPLY IN SOUTH EAST ASIA", it might be worth taking a look back at that video at how healthy you looked back then. The healthier living at that time was clearly working for you.
Do not under any circumstance get on an airplane ! A guy who lived near me had a mini stroke, his doctor told him not to fly anywhere he ignored the advice went to Thailand for two weeks soon afterwards and the pressure on the aircraft caused him to have a massive stroke and he died . You need to think very carefully before doing anything for a while. Take care mate I wish you well.
The human body usually gives you a warning sign before anything serious happens, get a scan done, change your lifestyle and enjoy a healthy retirement. Don't let £250 and a fear of hospitals get in the way. Look after yourself

Yeah…..I had three bad dizzy spells within a few weeks time. To the point I was seriously thinking I was going to pass out. I ignored the first two. But after having a third one in a food court at a mall, I figured I should get it checked it at the hospital. After lots of scans, including a tube sent into an artery into my heart, plus nuclear medicine and other scans…l got the news that I had to go to another city and speak with a special surgeon. I found out that four of my cardiac arteries were 85% to 90% blocked. And I was heading for a heart attack or major stroke. Luckily….I realized that something was seriously wrong BEFORE I had a heart attack or stroke. I had no heart damage and no stroke. Went and had quadruple cardiac artery bypass surgery and I have to take meds now. If I hadn’t listened to my body, and hadn’t had the open heart surgery……I’d be dead today. Yes…..listen….pay attention to signs your body is giving you.
His travel insurance is invalid if he tries to leave Thailand without declaring his change of health plus he's not insurable while he's in this state of health. The guy is partially paralyzed and not sounding great in the vid, it's not a short trip down the road to get there either.

Hi Eddie, 23 december 2013 I was stuffing my face at one of my neighbours party. It started with pins and needles, then I felt "strange"...after a while I felt that if I got up, myleft leg would not support me. I asked my friend to help me walk to my house 30 meters away. Friends said my speech was slurred and I should go to hospital. I was not used to hospitals much and it scares me. 2 hours later I could walk again. Being XmaS I only went to hospital on 26 december, saw a young lady doctor who told me I had had a TIA ( mini stroke, you look it up). She then sent me to see a senior doctor who was a neurologist, lucky me. I had a cat scan and he confirmed TIA, small blood clot, gave me medicines. My left arm was weaker for a couple months and then I was ok. So far, 2024 I am still here. I would recommend you see the doctor again, just getting checked. I hope this helps. Best of luck.
Don't mess around with the public hospitals just claim on your health insurance policy and go to a private hospital and get the insurance company to pay for everything. That's why you brought the health insurance policy for so please use it.🙏
@@user-bg2ig5xc3e he said in an earlier video that he had travel insurance, this policy should cover him for medical emergencies such as this . Hi all. Can confirm Eddy has been seen my a mate of mine in LK Metro. Was eating in time bar but not sure if he was drinking. He was apparently confused and slumped in his chair but he was ok. Apparently he is still refusing medical help and believes that the hospital is a scam. Not sure what else can be done ?

Agreed, thank your lucky stars you've had this 'heads up' The tablets you've be perscribed are probably blood thinners (aspirin). The flight, stress and exercise of a trip to Cambodia is not a good idea... but hey, I'nm not a doctot. Get well soon
Edd so sorry to hear of your situation. I’ve just told my Mrs about your situation, as she Lived in Pattaya for 2 years when working for the British Government and she said they all used the “Bangkok hospital” in both Bangkok & Pattaya. She says it world class and they all speak fantastic English. It’s a huge white building on Sukhumvit Road. You can’t miss it !! Sod the expense mate get yourself over there. So sorry to hear about your misfortune mate and I wish you all the very best fir a speedy recovery and take heart from the fact you have many people wishing you well.... take care and good luck
i'm guessing Eddy doesn't have proper health insurance? He will continue to meander about until he ends up having a larger one that renders him admitted to the hospital (and hence the typical gofundme) or worse: dead. doesn't seem to give 2 fcks about his health.
Eddie, I am sorry this has happened. I am a doctor and I will give you some stern advice. You have had a serious medical episode and you require serious medical intervention. Your symptoms tell me you have either had stroke or TIA. You probably have had a bleed on the brain and require a scan to determine what type of bleed and what action to take next. If you ignore this and simply go on travelling you will die ! My advice is go back to hospital get this stabilised and once it’s safe to fly return to the UK for treatment and rehabilitation. Good luck.
Can someone go to his condo and check on him, if his symptoms are getting worse chances are he’ll have another one shortly with the pressure from the blockage doing more damage
Well yeah that's if he's lucky. If he's unlucky, he'll have a much more serious stroke and end up permanently crippled in a wheelchair drooling on himself with a ladyboy pushing him around feeding him porridge and washing his ass for him. God forbid! But he is a stubborn man.
Really sorry to hear about this Ed, hoping everything goes OK. I have had 3 operations over the years and the techology is so much better than it used to be you can now often be out and about a couple days after surgery with no scars! Make sure to get properly checked out - it's usually far less bad than you imagine it to be before you get checked out. That will take all your stress away. Hang in there mate. We are all cheering for you.
At today's rate of 46.2 Baht to the UK £, 10000 Baht is less than £217 (about $270 US). Who would worry about such a paltry sum relative to their health, unless they were paupers?
Eddie. health is the most important thing in life. Now you must start your new life. Eat healthy, all these roasts are no good. Pack in drinking alcohol. Start drinking water , change your eating habbits. Start exercising . Stay in Thailand, maybe go to Bangkok and get checked out. Its not the end Eddie , it is your second life , so get down to it and I sincerely hope you make a good recovery,
As if he’s gonna do that! He can’t even change his crazy travel habits like dragging that oversized suitcase around, or using taxis in Bangers instead of the excellent MRT & BTS. Reminds me of a stubborn old friend of mine who has since passed. You can’t tell these guys anything … 🤡😵💀
Eddie, first off thanks for being so up front and honest. You absolutely need a brain scan, it will merely confirm where you stand. Don’t worry there’s no operation following a stroke, just medication and lifestyle change. Ignoring this and hoping it will go away is going to end your life early. Forget Cambodia for now… are you really in the right frame of mind for that?? Come on Eddie, get the scan tomorrow and go from there, it will not be painful. Recovery can only begin when you know your starting point.
I had Atrial fibrillation (AFIB) a common heart arrhythmia. Caught it and stopped it in its tracks in very early stages w/ a procedure. Per my Electrophysiologist (EP) and Cardiologist care teams, I needed to control the afib (thru meds or procedure) to prevent a life changing stroke. Since my procedure I have addressed life style modifications: get good sleep, healthy diet, no alcohol, exercise most days, reduce stress, attend all follow ups with care team, refrain from processed foods (organic and whole foods only) watch the sugar & carbs. Per my EP: DIET, SLEEP, EXERCISE. Health is wealth. Being healthy enhances a blessed quality of life.
Eddie, have you ever heard of F.A.S.T. when a stroke is suspected? Speed is of the essence. I'm glad you finally took advice. Go back for the scan FFS. Btw, it's standard to put anyone in a wheelchair when going for X-rays in Hospital. Hope it's not too bad long term.🙏
I was around my mothers house about 5 years ago. I heard her scream out, and I went into the kitchen and she was on the floor. I managed to sit her up on the floor and I raised both her arms. I told her to keep both arms up I let go and the one kept flopping down. Straight on the phone 999 and we're in an ambulance not long after. Luckily it was a mild one like yours appears to be. They kept her in a few hours and they didn't do a brain scan. She's been on blood thinning tablets ever since. Luckily, she's never had another one.
Thank god I'm not this stupid. "I'm not gonna have an operation on me head." If you want to have any quality of life after this, you're going to need one.
If you’ve got a blood clot on the brain, the scan will show it and they can provide blood thinner medication, such as Warfarin. If the clot dislodges and travels in your blood stream to your heart, you could be dead before you hit the floor. For the sake of £250 your reluctance is unfathomable. And having now been diagnosed as having had a stroke, mild or not, there’s every chance the airline won’t let you fly next week. Some of the comments here may seem harsh, but it’s what you need to hear because you’re burying your head in the sand.
Eddie is probably feeling quite afraid and alone right now, must have been quite a shock. He's not daft though, he'll eventually do the right thing, which is to get the scan and get the right drugs and therapy from it. As a few on here have said he shouldn't fly anywhere until he's had a risk assessment. If I was him I'd thankfully accept gordongorman's very kind offer for several days or so and would abandon plans for Cambodia. See how things are in a week or so before making any more plans.
Hi Ed The brain scan is to confirm what type of stoke you have had. It could be a blood clot in the brain or if you have had a bleed on the brain. That's the reason for the scan. The good news is that many people make good if not fill recoveries from strokes. If you have had a stoke on the left side of your brain, it normally effects the opposite of the body hence you are having problems with your rofht arm and leg. This should recover after some rest. Alcohol will increase your bp which may have added to stoke risk. Tc bro
Wow. You made plans a long time ago to retire from England and move and settle in Asia and now this. My goodness Eddie no one deserves this especially you. Spanner in the works is an understatement. Take care mate.
You must inform your insurance company what has happened, your insurance will be completely invalid if you try to make a claim in the future and they see a video titled 'i've had a stroke'

Eddy , I rarely comment on here, but please do what the hospital is asking you to do. I'm in tears here watching this, mate. I'm very worried about you. You're top top, fella
Hi Ed, sorry to hear you had a mini stroke , the reason they want a scan is to see where the blockage was/is in your brain, the chances are you will be fine after physio therapy and blood thinners ( which I think they have prescribed) you should count yourself lucky you got a mini stroke not a full blown one, if you don’t go back for the scan you have high chances of a massive stroke, that’s real trouble, change all your plans and stay in Pattaya until you can get sorted, forget about operations, your functioning too well for that, I have no problem paying for the scan if you send me how to get funds to you, life is too short to ignore this, get back to the hospital and my honest guess is you will be fine.
Hi Eddy, yes like many others commenting I strongly suggest that you get that scan asap. Then they can see exactly what is going on and you’ll have more information re your condition. I wish you a speedy recovery. 👍

Good luck.

Thank god I'm not this stupid. "I'm not gonna have an operation on me head." If you want to have any quality of life after this, you're going to need one.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. It was great meeting you in Vietnam and in Pattaya! Hope to see you again!
Is nobody else going to call out the hospital for making a stroke patient walk to the 7-11 to get a useless mask? Absolutely reprehensible.
Its a public hospital .What do you expect .
and he can't walk as he's got a dead leg...
@@anthonydowling3356and what will a cheap mask from 7/11 do?😂😂
If you’ve got a blood clot on the brain, the scan will show it and they can provide blood thinner medication, such as Warfarin.
@@franko1174probably make the rule makers feel better.
Very sorry to say it, but this is the end of the channel as far as the mongering lifestyle goes.
Yeah, I feel.sorry for the poor bloke, just retired and this happens. His lifestyle will need to change and fast, otherwise its goodnight.
One too many viagras
No more beer bars, late nights and viagra. Roberto vs the world will take over from here.
Taking too many Boner Tablets probably does not help either.
😂👍
Quite the opposite
1st thing I thought
Shoutout to Londancabthailand who keeps telling Eddie there's nothing wrong with a 'few beers'.
What are you on about.
Hi Ed
The brain scan is to confirm what type of stoke you have had.
Correct my wife didn't tell them over a small mishap and she struggled for them to pay out to the hospital
The fact that he's been to an actual hospital and received a diagnosis of a stroke is probably the bigger issue
Absolutely, he can't travel anywhere else now either because his insurance will be invalid if he doesn't declare what's happening plus he's probably now uninsurable currently
If you have private health insurance, you need to get yourself checked out at one of the private hospitals
If he had he would go there.
I’m sure Eddie has private health insurance that was one of the things he spoke about in a video be fore he left the UK
@@anthonydowling3356
I heard him say before he has travel insurance.
Nothing about proper health insurance.
@@user-ue5hc4hq2u Which begs the question why is he not using it ?
I would choose somethi v between training hospital and private low use? Hospital..??
Eddy , I rarely comment on here, but please do what the hospital is asking you to do. I'm in tears here watching this, mate. I'm very worried about you. You're top top, fella

@@asefshaikh6027 Hope he has family or close friends back home he can speak with.
Ow yes definitely
Gutted to hear about your stroke mate! Hopefully by now you’re in the best private hospital possible and on the road to recovery 💙
I have something in common with Eddie. Stubbornly self destructive. And unwilling to hear advice.
Just like an old mate of mine who’s since passed … 🤡😵💀
@@ma3stro681 Sooner or later the Grim Reaper comes for all of us. No matter how healthy a life we lead.
They probably want to give you a brain scan to see if you have one..
LOL
Agree this joker is acting like a zomble. I think he grew off the end of his willy.
Very witty
Ambulance to Bangkok hospital, no matter how much it costs! I needed the wheelchair pretty soon and still can’t walk 12 years later. I would tell my old self to hurry up and accept the offer to get the ambulance. Stroke or TIA is an emergency. Always.
Sorry to hear Eddie, but my advice would be get back to the UK ASAP I was travelling like you then had a mini stroke, the NHS here put me right. Good luck and take care, your body is talking to you.
Bad advice, he is in no condition to fly atm
If he has been left 6 months he not registered with the nhs anymore he would have to re register and wait for all that sorting before he gets considered for a appointment and could be dead by then
@@alanarmitage He left in the new year. Less than 6 months ago....just about
So many people all around the world are suffering heart and stroke problems. I think we all know the reason.
Safe and effective they said .
@@anthonydowling3356 yep
Reason being bad diet and lack of exercise

@@anthonydowling3356 you think his years of alcoholism, being overweight, eating crap food and high blood pressure aren't remotely involved? You lot love looking thick!
Classic story! Shit Western diet, alcoholic, and never exercised a day in his life. Retirement means nothing without your health folks. Let that be a lesson
Eddy had actually curbed his alcohol intake and he has been on a diet. No one is prefect bro.
In the nicest possible way, "you've got bloody insurance, USE IT!" This is the exact reason we take our insurance. Stuff the trip you've got booked, it's refundable, stuff the cost of the scan, it's refundable. The only thing non refundable is your bloody life. No refunds. Now get off your arse and check yourself in for a scan and hospital stay FFS, with all due respect. PS, we want volume 3 of your book series
