    season 2 plot felt more like a movie than a series for me, since it is so streamline and mainly focus on Taro as the new MC. definitely think manga did it better since we got more character development and plot.

      Yeah, this definitely seems more like some kind of “Ultraman Movie Special” made to introduce Taro, rather than a full series.

      While season 1 was ok,season 2 felt rushed like a movie.Characters have small intense fights that end quick and have no impact on the story,they mention plot lines that don't exist,lots of plot holes(especially with bemular).Should've probably made it 2d to save o the budget and adapt the manga cuz the anime story just throws one plot line after another.

    Ok the riots in the manga and the reveal afterwards would have been really cool animated

  • @Kamen_Konrad

    I was really sad when they just kinda threw away Seven’s hole plot in the anime. But I have a feeling that the reason they changed the anime so much from the manga was probably due to budgeting reasons. 3D models and landscapes are incredibly hard & time consuming to make, after making 2 new ultra suits and 2 alien forms (didn’t count Zoffy since it’s very similar to the 1st Ultra suit) they probably didn’t want to spend more time on other alien models resulting in the maid people just being copy & paste of one another. Also the terrain felt more empty in the anime compared to the manga were u see destroyed and falling buildings everywhere with some moving as characters are hit against it. But in the anime it’s just a destroyed plain environment most of the damage is in the background with none of the characters really interacting with it. That could also be why Taro’s whole back story & the final fight is entirely different, with them not wanting to make a whole new asset of New York & only mentioning it by name. Though this is just a theory and there could’ve been an entirely different reason on why the anime differentiated so much from the manga.

    Izumi is not his girlfriend. They are just good friends. In the Japanese translation, he refers to her as an “old friend” after she slapped him. They aren’t a couple. Though, I do sense a romantic feeling in Kotaro.

For all we know, they took a break when he went to New York and the reason he shows feelings is because they agreed to restart it. Surface level, yes, they don't blatantly say it unless you watch the dub. But because there's so much we don't know, it still feels open to interpretation to me. Kinda like maybe they're into each other but not labeled, so we the viewer can decide what that means y'know? That's how I see it anyway. I pinned your comment though because regardless people should see it's not blatant 👍

    • @ardius9777
      @ardius9777 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Eh, I felt that they were ambitious, but clever? Not really, their goals just felt like it was all over the place, as if the writer was constantly backtracking on their declarations just for subversion's sake. For example, what does forcing the Ultramen to kill the Pedanian even achieve? What did the council do after that? What repercussions does it have on the status quo? As of the time I'm writing this, no further revelations regarding the Star of Darkness' goals have been dropped after it got sidelined immediately to get to the Leo brothers and Mephilas plot.
      I prefer the manga's storytelling to the anime by a wide margin, but it still has a lot of narrative flaws imho.

    Yeah the anime is less violent than the manga, but regardless, the anime is still a Seinen cuz it’s an adaptation of the manga. All anime adaptations of specific manga types are the same demographic as the manga. Like Shonen anime are to their manga. Shonen targets young teenage boys (12-18).
    Seinen targets adult men (18-40).

    I found season 2 a bit rushed, and I couldn't help but wonder *why only 6 episodes ???* We could have had so much more character development and so much more explanation about what was happening, had this season been 12-13 episodes long. We could have had the storyline between Dan and Rei. No, really, I'm pissed.

  • @jf4132

    The scene where Maya sticks her tongue out, I’m gonna have to write that off as an animation error cuz I don’t know why she would fake her death here. Like was she just fucking with Hokuto here? Allot of people say that she shows up in the stadium scene at the end, but I swear I could never find her in that scene. All I could find were the weird maid bodyguards but to me it just looked like the soldiers were taking them into custody or something. It’s such a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment that I doubt it was intentional cuz why would they have such a seemingly pivotal moment be so minor and barely play any real part of the story? Again I’m gonna have to write it off as a fluke.

    • @evangodzilla
      @evangodzilla  Před rokem +1

      It could just be because season 3 is the last season so they wanted to leave characters alive. Animation erros typically aren't that multi-framed so it's more than likely just the animators having fun or giving themselves options for next season
