  • Imagine how much your life changed if you could just learn how to trust yourself?! Spiritual teacher Adyashanti shares his wisdom with us and helps us to progress towards a more positive and confident look at ourselves.
According to him we can - step by step - learn how to trust our inner voice and how to trust our intuition. Adya explains what he really means when he says ‘trust yourself.’ ‘I don’t mean to trust in our conditioned self, because we have all done that in our life and it got us sometimes into difficult situations because that part of our personality structure is so conditioned,’ he says. What he really means is to trust the spirit in us. ‘It is something that comes from stillness,’ he wants us to know. What is also very helpful is to listen to our body: ‘When we're not in truth - no matter what our mind thinks -our bodies will tend to have some sort of contraction or uncomfortability. And often that is the underlying sense of spiritual guidance or true conscience,
a conscience that is not culturally derived, but intuitively derived from stillness.’ Of course, the process of learning to trust oneself will take time. Adya gives an encouraging example. A child learns how to walk by trial and error. This way we can also learn how to trust ourselves. Step by step, enquiring into what is happening in our body and mind.
To summarize, if we listen to Adyashanti’s advice we can learn:
    - how to develop self-trust
    - how to have faith in ourselves
    - how to eliminate self-doubt
    - how to overcome insecurities.

this was really wonderful to listen to, thank you. I am at that place where inner quiet voice/intuition is guiding me to quit my job of all things, and it's a very good paying job. I've been on the inner truth - learning path for a while now and on one of the occasions where I've found myself without a job, instead of freaking out I decided to give it into God's / Intuitions hands and just sat peacefully in a kind of trusting way and so far the next door opens simply and without much effort on my own part, which is how I came into this good job I am now being prompted to move on from. but it's seems very scary to just let go, even though "I know" I'm being called to my next greater self understanding and experience; when it's the income that pays my way.
I really enjoyed your share Adyashanti. Thank you. and blessings to you there always.

everything is one. there is no good or evil. there is nothing to mistrust. only patterns to reset. if your subconscious is negative, then you have to affirm it to positive. take control of your life and tell yourself that you are what you want to be and stay positive and have faith that it will happen when the time is right. when you worry about trusting the voice, then you are not trusting the plan. everything is one and everything is for a reason. spread love and be happy and you don't have to worry about anything

Adya's teachings are so authentic, pure and crystal clear that the music gives the feel of all those other spiritual charlatans who profess to be wise but aren't. So they jazz up their spiritual materialism with fluff...the music, robes, pseudo accoutrements. Not to mention that it's hard to hear him over the strumming. Please, please, please for the sake of audio clarity alone, keep the music out of his teachings. Thank you!

It seems to me that people tend to overthink everything. For me as long as a person is free from any habits that control them and are living simply and keeping a clean house and living within their financial means and treat others as they would want to be treated and to help people whenever the opportunity comes then that is really all there is to living a happy life. I think the trouble arises when we start thinking too much and try to figure everything out. As a side note who cares what the background music is like. If that's what your focused on you've missed the point completely.

    ********Notes******
    Not trust in conditioned self
Trust the spirit within you.. its not the ego voice, its not the personality voice, nor is it separate from them
There is something which comes inside from stillness, gives simple guidance, doesn’t justify itself or argue its point
Ego voice will justify itself, it will give analysis and explanation
The small voice is the deepest form of our conscience, its learned through life, its conditioned voice which tells you what you should or shouldn’t do
In psychology they call it the superego, the parental ego
But the still small voice is a different form of conscience, its something which comes from a very quiet and still place
It doesn’t judge or tell you what you should or shouldn’t do
Sometimes it isn’t even conceptual, its this inner sense
Our body are good truth detectors, our bodies will have some un-comfortability, thats the true conscience which isn’t culturally derived
We have been condition not to listen to our bodies and the inner voice
Society conditioned us to do as we’re told with its conscience and sense of morality, sometimes it can be misleading and go against the intuitive guidance
    **Balance needs to be found**
**Its like teaching a baby how to walk, you can try to explain “raise your foot, put it on the ground, …”, but it won’t make sense**
**Or you can just raise it up and let it walk.. it will take 1-2 steps and fall, then 4,5 steps.. you cant figure out how to find balance**
**If you walk on a tight rope, if you think about balance, you will lose it, you have to find it**
Our deeper sense whats trustworthy inside.. its trial and error
If you don’t get overly judgemental and afraid, you get up and learn what to trust, bit by bit you find balance, intuitively with what you can trust inside
It doesn’t assert itself, it presents itself
It doesn’t need to argue its point to you or people around you
People are thought to listen to outside guidance, never placing trust in yourself
All the truths are being imposed from the outside.. truths, judgements, ideas, whats right and wrong
**Don’t be afraid to start to listen, sometimes it will be just a feeling, its underneath the conceptual mind, start listening to it..**
**see when it seemed accurate, when it didn’t, it helps you tune in more and more**
**We have to be willing to fail, you have to learn how to fall down, like the child learning to walk, otherwise you would never get back on your feet again**
    **Practice.**
Give guidance to find balance, but not definite answers (this is the way it is)
