Built mine a few weeks back, couple of points - the screws were not machined very well some had heads which were too shallow so the screwdriver would not grip properly and some had an extra piece of unthreaded metal on the end where they had not been cut properly. Also Keter need to state in the instructions that you need an extremely flat and level base before building, I mounted mine onto a wooden shed base frame initially and the plastic floor was warping and flimsy. So I had to remove the shed from the base then add a sheet of 9mm ply to the base frame to firm it up. Finally the fit and finish of some of the components was not as good as the one on display, for example there are a few gaps in the parts despite them being assembled correctly. Overall I am happy with the shed now it is built but it took way longer and was more hassle than it should have been because of the points mentioned.
One year on and how's the shed doing? Are you still happy with it? We're considering getting one.
Thanks
@@toddie3910 Yes still happy with it, just make sure you put it on a flat base and it is fine. I put draft excluder around the door and a small rubber flap on bottom of door to keep spiders out, seems to work.
@@darenager630 will do. Thanks for the tip 👍🏽
Wow i just finished concreting my floor yesterday .Tomorrow i get to build this shed in my garden .Thanks for this video it helps a lot.
That's great to hear, hope the build went well!
@@keteruk8879 Thanks guys its up now. looks good .Plentyof folk asking where i got it from.Soeasy to build as well
Love this video, well done keter I love the unique look of the shed
Thank you, that's great to hear!
I got one of these from b&q and I must say I’m pretty impressed with it 👍
Really pleased to hear that!
It was helpful, thanks 🙏
Glad to hear it!
I watched this video before building the shed for a friend , it was so easy to put together .great job
Thanks for sharing 👍
Glad to hear that.
You guys should see the right horlicks B&Q staff have made of the one they constructed in the gardening department at my local store. Good job I didn't see that example first because I would never have bought it.
Thanks for letting us know. Could you let us know which store this is? We want to make sure our displays reflect the quality of our products so would like to look into this.
Grass 😂
The roof doesn't just "snap into place" like that either.
I have this house. It is very easy for built. It is beautiful for the storage of a different kind of tools
It's great to hear you found it easy to build. It's the perfect place for storing garden equipment.
Can it be moved once built?
@@coventrycity7308 We don't recommend moving it once built so try to assemble it in its final location where possible. However if needed, you can move it a short distance with two people.
Bought two of these now, both times they came without hardware / screws etc
How do you hang tools? What do you scew into to mount a tool rack?
I’m in the process of building this. Stuggling to get door to aligh, to allow lock/handle to be fitted
Is there a video for building the double door 4x6 Darwin?
I just built mine yesterday by myself, brilliant and very good instructions. Only thing I'm not sure about is there is a very large black rubber seal in the kit presumably for the window but it will not locate anywhere on the inner or outer window frame parts and there are no mention of this in the instructions or the included parts list. Appreciate your help.
Hello, glad you have got yours built. With regards to the black rubber seal, this is likely to be the part for the window frame which fixes on the inner side of the window inside the shed. You can see this at 4:06 in this video. Hope this helps.
@@keteruk8879 Thanks for the reply but there is definitely nothing at 4:06 in the video showing the item that was in the kit I received. I've seen other videos on CZcams where people have a self adhesive weather strip seal that will adhere to the window frame but in my kit the seal isn't self adhesive and very long, thin, stretchy black rubber, like a huge o-ring type seal but it won't fit, stretch or locate in any part of the inner and outer frames. Very strange that there is no mention of a seal in the instruction manual also. Thanks.
Hello, sounds like a stray part has got into your box as we don't have any other part for the Darwin that would match your description. Thanks for confirming.
A bit late, but might help others. If you check the Window Assembly section from this link and from step 60 onwards it shows how to fix the rubber seal. g.makeree.com/keter/guides/section/e7376a64-d854-4a69-83e6-fd3fd9e5e552
Can I use a very small space heater to heat this up?
What stops it blowing over in the wind?
What are the dimensions of the door? Thanks.
Only thing i will say is why dont Keter pre drill holes in it?
Is this she’s available in the US in this color? All I find is dark gray at big. Is stores.
Only place I've found this color is at Manard's
How big is the package that this shed comes in? I can't find the dimensions anywhere online, just the finished product dimensions. Just want to know if it will fit in the car before I purchase it!
Its about 8ft long. You can probaby fit in the car if you unpack it all... would be a pain though
The dimensions of the Darwin 6x4 shed packaging are W 189cm x D 72cm x H 26.2cm
Mine just arrived. The guys who delivered it told me the two of them could barely lift it! You need a plan.
@@bobjobmovie yeah its a heavy box though 2 men should be able to lift
i want to buy one like this but im afraid that with the wind it can flyway...i live in a windy place...can you tell me if this keter house is safe ???
You have the option to screw the plastic floor of the shed to your base so that the shed remains secure.
@@keteruk8879 thank you!
Can the window be placed on the right hand side ?
Yes the window can be placed on the right hand side or left hand side, you just need to decide which side you'd prefer before fitting the panels.
I’ve seen one built with the window panel used for the door
You can put it in the back if you want
What is the difference between this shed and the keter manor?
The Darwin is made from a different plastic technology which gives it a unique wood look but without the maintenance. It depends which style you prefer.
Thanks I havr purchased the Darwin from b and q this afternoon
When building this shed I would suggest using a concrete base and not a plastic shed base with stones (as I did) as you can feel the stones on the base. If you do use time pea gravel stones 10mm
Thanks for your feedback. We always advise using a firm level base for our sheds like concrete or paving slabs.
@@keteruk8879 so the base of the shed can sit on the concrete - it doesn't need to be raised?
Is it possible to put shelves onto the wall of this shed?
We wouldn't recommend hanging heavy things on the wall or adding shelves but you could use a free standing shelf unit to organise belongings inside the shed.
belive me people it's not as easy as they make it seem.it was a struggle
Sorry you didn't find assembly easy. Hope you have the shed built now.
It took me a lot more than 2 hours
I purchased this same exact model and guess what? It didn't come with a window!!!! 😡
I think that's the older model, mine hasn't got one either. Mine is green also, not brown
@@stupidscruff5794 mine is brown but i guess it is either older model or they messed up the parts in the box, you could be right
Do not be fooled by the apparent ease the lady in this video has making this shed. Four of us have spent 2 days trying to complete and have now given up. The pieces don't seem to line up very well and it needs much brute strength to get certain pieces to slot in. All-in-all a massively tedious experience. Shed looks nice though - apart from quite a few defects in the plastic. Will be contacting Keter direct about it.😠
bought this shed from home base and its a shambles parts don't fit into place at all
guide is awful tells you that you need to use certain parts but you don't get them either
Sorry to hear this. If you're not happy with your shed you can return it to Homebase for a refund or replacement. Alternatively, if you're missing parts, you can email our team on csuk@keter.com to arrange replacement parts.
Awful shed
