You know what would make this a 9.5? If you checked out the lyrics and found out this was the heaviest love song in the universe.
The “Go” at the beginning of the song can single handedly cure low testosterone per the FDA😂😂😂🤘

Some of Gojira’s songs are pure scream, some are melodically sung. But a LOT of their songs have a great mixture of both and Joe Duplantier the vocalist/guitarist does a fantastic job of using both.
And his melodic screams are some of the best around. Great metal vocalist.
Won't lie, I'm a fanboy. When you hear a Gojira song you know it's them. The exquisite musicianship, great songwriting, that GROOVE! Great score and great song!
You’re dead on, song never left 4/4. They’re just doing some trickery to make it feel like it strayed away from it.
The drummer, Mario Duplantier, is usually on the top of ‘best metal drummer’ lists every year. He’s nuts. He’s got a lot of drum solos on youtube you should check out on your own time.
This song and Silvera, also by Gojira, are the Will Smith of metal songs imo, cuz they slap you in the face right from the beginning. I listen to this song when I'm running, so I definitely agree, gym playlist.
Good morning from New England....This song actually came about because it was a drum exercise the drummer came up with and when the band heard it they made a song...I've seen Gojira 6 times and they put on the best show I've ever seen..they pour every ounce of energy into each song...check out some of their live stuff...It's incredible..Btw they use vintage 95 Evh 100 watt heads driving 6 Evh 4x12 cabs ..Peace from the Northeast....

I really only discovered Gojira at the beginning of this year, and as a metalhead I am ashamed that I didn't get into them sooner. I cannot describe how awesome they are. If you haven't reacted to "From The Sky" by them yet, trust me, it's worth it. Same album as this one, just as insane. Loved the reaction!
I truly think Gojira is the best metal band in the world right now. They're also the most energetic live band that I've ever seen.

I got legit whiplash when I saw them in 2011. I remember every second of it (which is very rare for me haha)
@@karasu8757 Jinjer is absolutely not in the same league as gojira and wouldn't be at all famous if not for the novelty of their lead singer being a girl and surprising people with her death vocals.
This song is actually pretty straight forward for them. They have some other stuff that's super complicated! Good stuff!

Very nice to hear your opinion from a musician point of view ! Gojira is a rabbitt Hole ,i'm glad you like them so far ,it was a slow progression to fame (20 years),but they deserve to be one of the biggest metal band today.and again , live they are fantastic .

Earned a sub with this one! Gojira is quote possibly the greatest metal band of this generation. Every. Single. Damn song. Is a BANGER. Keep it going! Not sure if you've done "Clone" yet, but if not....🤘😆🤟
I put Gojira up there with Black Sabbath and Rush when it comes to live bands. They're magic.
Great breakdown of the song as always! Also notice how the double bass over guitar chugs is basically in style of Morbid Angel 😉. You can check other greats from this band like Flying Whales or some newer stuff like Born for One Thing, Amazonia, New Found. Or also some of their softer side with Stranded, Magma, Shooting Star or The Chant. Rock on, Mr Heretic! 🤘

The J in Gojira is a hard J (like John). It’s a joke about how people in the original Godzilla film pronounced the monster’s name.
Actualy in japanese gojira means whale and in the original seems guy mentions seeing a shape and thinks might been a whale but is misheard
@Idk as there is no l in Japanese most words that have l in west world get adapted using r instead so gorilla in japanese would be sounding like gorira but the problem is the middle r which does not show up at all in end "mash up" and from a logical point what makes more sense to see in water and mistake for a whale, an amphibian saurian looking creature or an exclusively land animal like a gorilla which godzilla does not even look like? Also...you have to be adolescent to call everyone you disagree or not knowing at all dumb from the get go

They are awesome to watch them live. Back in 2017 I went to watch Metallica at the Rose Bowl and Gojira was the opening act, which was followed by A7X then Metallica. It was awesome

This entire album literally was just me cracking a smile in disbelief while saying "holy shit" out loud at least once per song if not more 🤣
Fun fact, they built their own recording studio, and do the recording work themselves. These are really musicians in the most incredible and pure form. A true form of metal and the highest of skill taken to craft it. It's endless what you find in their songs skill wise.

Mario, the drummer, is a drumming *savant*. Like, not even exaggerating. He took to the drums like a fish to water, according to his brother (who also happens to be the lead singe/ rhythm guitarist).

Check out The Fall from Gojira. It's more melodic and a good switch up from the arms to the legs and back. I'm not a drummer, but I know what's good. Enjoy.

Hey Hey just going thru some older Gojira vids...This entire album F.MT.S. is arguably one of the best modern concept albums ever released...It blows my mind how much they grew with each album It's scary how crushing but catchy thier songs can be 🤘🧐✌️

Mario's practice routine consists of (or consisted of) 2 hours: one of general techniques and one of kicks only, starting from a lower speed and ending as fast as he can. One hour! : )
Also, why aren't you pronuncing the 'j' in Gojira? It sounds weird the way you're saying it.
If you want to hear Jean Michel's bass more distinctly, you should react to Flying Whales. In the rest of their catalog he mostly just follows what one (or both) guitars are doing but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Just doing another rewatch Dave I saw a recent Podcast with Mario Duplantier and he talks about the sextuplets in this song The first set is a right foot lead and the second is with a left foot lead It took me 2 months to figure that out bc I couldn't nail it and I was getting pissed and confused haha 😎🧐🤘✌️

Gojira is a j sound since its the Japanese wording for godzilla
Actualy it means "whale" is just that in movie guy says he thinks he saw a whale and they mishear name and gets stuck

Gonna be honest.... unpopular opinion but I can't really get into much past their first three albums and felt their latest was highly overrated. This was one of the later ones I thought was solid though.

I’d say the top redeeming quality of this song is it’s only 3:59 long.
I’m open to ALL types of music, but THIS? THIS is abysmal. Kudos to you DH for the yeoman’s effort to get through it.
