Do you agree that "Cinematic" Settings just mean getting your shots to look great with the proper exposure, correct white balance, and understanding frame rate? Or is there more to it? Let me know! :)

Omg! @3:30 I died laughing... camera conspiracies is gonna have a field day with this one! Ha! Lol. Thanks for your videos my dude
Wait a second. If you're in Europe you should use 25 instead of 24 frames because of the artificial lights here. I ask myself if I have to use a 25p timeline as well when shooting in PAL...and cinematic is what looks best in my opinion. You can also break rules if it makes a shot better. But yeah, sticking to rules always help.
[ 1 QUESTION ] What lav mic you use ? - you have it on the beginning of this film but no information in description about it...
The lav mic was just to make this series not so much the travel film bwahaha. It is the Rode Wireless Lav
Can you release new luts? fcpx :)
I still watch your past tutorials for my Sony A7Riii. Love these!
Jason, we need a longer course! This is so well demonstrated and digestible!
Dude, this was so good! Excellent tips! I know nothing about cinematography, so this was incredibly useful tips, all of them!
This is very helping! Thank you Jason! For making this tutorial🙂👏
all product's vendors must be happy for you Jason, you're amazing literally!
This was great, thank you. Going to take my Sony A7III and Sony A7rIII off auto and into manual 🤓🎥
Another great video. Just playing with my new A6400. This is all very helpful. Plus you seem like a cool dude when you present these videos making them entertaining.

Terrific series Jason! Thank you so much for this. As a photographer thinking about jumping more into video this is a great reference!
So glad I can help make the transition easier!
Hi Jason, wonderful videos! thank you. On the "enlarge" option to check focus, can you choose just one enlarge option rather than having to cycle thru all of them to get back to normal view after achieving focus? thanks in advance
Just got back into filming. Entry level since I forgot everything. Your video is incredible. Very informative and you included EXTREMELY important info that others left out. Good shit.
Thanks Jason! Very helpful as always!!

These videos are so valuable!
Jason - I absolutely love your training series, your advice, your skillz! Is everything you share - self-taught? Quite inspirational!
I learn from CZcams and I'm giving back to CZcams!
@@JasonVong well - I watch lots of CZcams in re: photography, you seem to present it at a very "learnable" level. Very talented, personable, sometimes corny but that makes you human. I appreciate your sharing the expertise you have acquired making my search for other photography videos much less difficult - meaning you are becoming my main resource. Thanks again!
Mahalo Jason !!! Super helpful as always. Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaii 🤙🏽
Great video Jason thank you.
Thank you for the great tips.
The video is great, but this soundtrack is from heaven!
Excellent content! Informative and helpful!!

1:14 Zojo-ji temple - nice! It's where several of the last shoguns are buried.
The nd filters helped me
Hi Jason! Awesome vid! I was wondering if you could tell me what picture profile settings you used when you did the timelapse of Tokyo Tower. Thanks!
Best video ever dude
...JASON, THANK YOU!
Which Lenses would you recomment for Filmmaking and Photography on the a7iii? Also for fast AutoFocus and perfect sharpness? I also want to use it out of my hands or with a Gimbal.
Great Info Video!!
Thanks for wonderful explanation.

This was very helpful and informative. I love your content. Thank you, sir.
Glad it was helpful!
Super helpful - thanks!
Thanks for the helpful tips kind sir.
Yesssssss!!! Love the series!! 😍
glad you're enjoying it!!
When you said to underexpose, is that in a standard pp? What about LOG when you are supposed to overexposed by 2 stops? Just wanting to make sure I have this correct
Thanks for the break down Jason! The explanation of the different white balance modes really helped me better understand how it plays a big role in video. So used to shooting stills lol
AWB all the things!!
Jason Vong the best! 🙌🏻
My man, you are awesome, just starting to do video and need all the help I can get...
Dude you are teaching me to use my camera for my Yosemite Trip. Thanks man
Hey Jason... loving this series of tutorials. Question for you, I was in Europe for a couple months recently, and I noticed anytime I shot indoors there was a lot of flicker in the lights. I believe it’s because they use a different frequency than the United States. How do you get rid of indoor light flicker?
Mike's Road Trip change your settings from NTSC to PAL. 🙂
Great video!
Jason, you are absolutely killing it!
Jon Pais killing it
thank you Jon!
Thanks for clearing that up for so many people, understanding exposure, lighting, and frame rates is king. It's tough to cover cinematic filming when you're just doing gear reviews. I love the change of pace and how you're showing your film-making chops now. Kill that "gear is king" mentality.
but people love watching Gear videos haha! Planning on mixing it up though
@@JasonVong Next video, masking the subject in foreground when you expose for highlights in the background, showing dynamic range of the Sony's
this was very helpful!
Excellent tutorial!
Best tutorial ❤️❤️❤️
Added to my Favorite Videos, sir. Very good information to keep for future video references! Great job as always Mister Vong! :D
Thanks for saving this!
I would like to learn how you save shadow details so well in that shot?
Excellent video
thanks alot for this !!!
Great content man!! Come visit dubai !! You will love it!
Super good video Jason. Props for keeping the channel informative and ffffuuuuuun (lil quote here 😂).
May I ask tho, I'm a bit worried about Danny. He hasn't posted anywhere on social media for a long time. Hope everything is fine with him, Really liked the guy and your podcasts.
These locations are amazing 🤩 How are you pumping all these videos outtt you madman?!
make a bunch now publish later bahawaha
Jason’s secretly a hoarder!
Hello Jason, thank you for the teaching. Which profil picture / creative do you use to shot cinematic videos ?
awesome content!
so educational..!
Hi Jason, thanks for sharing very useful info all the time!
I have a question about Sony's AWB in video mode...
My a6500 + Sigma 16mm f1.4 setting are,
- 24FPS
- SS @ 50
- PP7 @ S-Log2
- Exposure Comp @ +2
- Auto ISO 800 ~ 3200,
- AWB White
- Focus Area @ Zone
- Focus Mode @ Continuous AF
Scenario A: There is a place with wooden panel deck (light brown) and fake grass (green) in some random spots. Also, there are mainly 2 different types of lighting are set which is yellowish and bluish. About 30 people use their own yoga mat and their colors are all different and reflect colors to the yogis when they are posing close to the yoga mat.
with this scene above, I tried to match the colors of each scene from FCPX, but it's just killing me and camera's AWB kept changing based on the focus area of the scene. For me to have very consistent color balance for this kind of event filming in challenging scenario for editing, what will be your recommendation?
Thanks!
Justin
Great video! I’m shooting with a Sony a6100, what are some good settings since my cam doesn’t have log settings? Thanks 👍👌
Awesome video, you have got a new sub :)
Do you have any tips for shooting slow motion indoor with artificial light? I met the problem that slomo causes light flickering there. Higher shutter speed and trying to fix it in post didn't help. Would be thankful for your advice! :)
We love what you make;) We hope that we can travel to thailand again, after the pandemic :)
hello sir jason vong can u suggest best settings for sony a6400 when it comes to streaming thanks
Thank you thank you thank you 👍👍👍👍👍the best video
