Thank you for your question! The piece of shrimp can vary really, ultimately the goal is for the ammonia to reach 2ppm. Once the ammonia reaches 2ppm the piece of shrimp should be removed and Jelly Bio starter can be added. Go with 1" of shrimp and test the ammonia levels daily, ammonia hits 2ppm remove the shrimp. your manual clearly says to add 1/4" to 1/2" of shrimp. The video says 1". I guess this is is for the 5g gallon setup?
