It's cool to watch one of your older videos and see how much your video quality has improved over the years.
AT LAST! A real artist who helps, doesn't just sell books or make us feel bad because our beloved little trees are dying due to our lack of experience and knowledge. Thank you, a million times! :)
Who said woman arenât funny ?đđđđđ
Somebody answer that damn phone! Tell them we are busy!
Peter is the clear example of wisdom and experience. Thank you for the valuable knowledge :)
You are a fantastic Bonsai "Professor" and I thoroughly enjoy your lessons and your stories! Thank you so much for sharing your vast knowledge.
Like everyone else great video, but the beeping was a little troublesome.
Tried watching, but the mushrooms started to kick in, and I kept getting prank called.
Lol I get it now
It seems happy every time I watch this video lmao
Lmao I just pulled a double and thought the lack of sleep caught right up to me
Finally realised what you meant after I fell off my chair.
Hahaha nice
Very good, lots of info in just 15 min.
Nigel Saunders nice to see you haha
Hi Nigel, what do you think of him not washing off all the soil before repotting?
Nigel saunders you dont practice this. You always wash roots. And spread the the roots
I repotted my Japanese maple and this video gave me alot of confidence in doing itđ
I need to repot my Acer, so glad I found this!
I transplanted a baby creeping juniper bonsai. My question if you know, Iâm wondering if I should not water it after transplant?
Very clear instructions. I enjoy your presentations very much. I have found that when people do not check their tree roots for many years, the growth of the roots expels the soil out of the pot. This of course is a very slow process and will not be noticed by the inexperienced bonsai-st. I have re-potted trees that had not been touched in 20 years. As a result they were pot bound with very little if any soil. The trees of course were very stressed. I was very worried they would die from what I had to do and warned the owner of the trees before I began work on them. Thankfully all the trees have really became stimulated. The only exception is a small Juniper tree. It survived the pruning, but it is not doing very well. I expect if may not make it as it has many dead leaves. Not sure if I may be able to re stimulate any fresh growth on the juniper.
Bravo! Thank you, in short timing everything I needed to know about repotting bonsai tree.
Hi Peter, Good video and packed with useful info.
Many, many thanks. I am starting out on the jouney of Bonsai owning and growing. What you have taught me here will be put to good use. Again thankyu.
That tree is incredible!
Great video! This guy is a fantastic teacher!
Thank you for this, you provide first class instruction đđ»
Thank you mr Chan, I'm french but your english is very understandable so, it's nice. Beware of external sound in videos !
Thank you for your advice about fertilizer and repotting.
awesome video! very informative
very clear messages, thanks
I love this man đđŒ
Thanks for the bonsai wisdom usually not found in books. All my roots seem to grow counter-clockwise. Is this because I live the northern hemisphere? Would the roots of a tree imported from Australia get confused?
excellent videos! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing â€
Great video.
So you need to repot the tree into a bigger pot? What if you want to keep it in the same pot but trim more roots and branches off?
Beautiful
Do you have any tips about the roots of pot bound, non bonsai trees from nurseries?
great video
Great demonstration. Alright already Herons.....every 30 seconds.
Hi, I have just repotted my ginseng bonsai and have worked it in the pot. How long do I leave the wires for?
very good, i like
I have repotted My mame japanese maple today, the soil was permanently wet so I had to check for root rot (which didn't see to be the problem). Didn't cut any root but changed some of the soil... could you comment please? any special after care? thank you.
This guy's awesome lol
This video is an acid trip!
am I drunk, or is it the video?
good job
It's the video
Warp stabiliser... used very badly.
holodeck needs reconfig
Neither. You're having an acid flashback.
I transplanted a baby creeping juniper bonsai. My question if you know, Iâm wondering if I should not water it after transplant?
I NEED HELP. I got my jupiter bonsai tree 3 days ago. The soil is 40% peat moss, 30% dune sand, 15% perlite and 15% bark dust.
I have been researching saying peat moss holds moisture which isn't ideal for bonsai. Sould i change my soil? Or leave him alone until next early spring? I checked no signs of root rot at all.
This video is tripping me out.
Can you repot a juniper bonsai in September?
Thank you so much this is so helpful! Also I would like to ask you, how do I know my Bonsai has rotten roots or irreversible damage to them?
Thank you!
I lost one of my oldest bald cypress this year and as I lost that one followed my dawn redwood. both very special to me and had for many years. come to find out they died I think from root rot. the big bald cypress had a white fungus growing on some of the bigger roots. I had notice even the entire root would break up and dissolve. I'm baffled. the only thing that changed is I moved and brought it with me. but I think those types of signs were root rot. don't neglect your plants pay attention to any little change. I had never had this happen so I notice the signs to late. I learned but confused. anyways good day I hope you find your answer.
Matthew
For most trees you can see root rot, only when you are repotting the tree and remove the old soil. Trees such as Jade, if the root tor is bad, it will affect the surface roots and if corrective action is not taken, then the trunk starts to rot and the trees eventually dies. If there is root rot, the tree will show signs of stress and unhealthy appearance, That is the the time to repot it and sort the roots out.
A few hints on whether your bonsai has root rot are: the could smell rotten, the compost might be water logged another way to check would be to take the tree out of the pot and the root structure falls apart (meaning it's not strong enough to hold together). If the roots have rotted thatâs it for the tree!
What is the difference between pine and maple soil
I'm having to repot my fiscus bonsai because lows did it dirty. It's in a ceramic pot with no drainage
My drainage holes were glued shut?! đ repotting today I think.
Why does the video waver like that? Thats weird
Fantastic video so much information
Why my leaves fall off when repotting. Canât find this anywhere
What kind of soil is he using??
Thank You. I want to move there and sweep the floors for you.
My bonsai leaves have become crispy, Iâve always sprayed it and watered when the soil is dry I donât know what to do
what's happening with the sfeeen? i feel a bit seasick.. and please unlpug the door alarm!
Please get rid of the back ground noise, radio!!!! Great information.
Is bonsai about beautiful trees or about concentrating, about mindfullness etc..About gaining confidence in your own aÂĄbility to design, to have and trust in your vision?
Water it in?
Hello, video quĂĄ tuyá»t vá»i
Hello there, I've just moved one of my Chinese elms into a bigger pot, and used coconut soil, is coconut soil ok to use? I know this time of year soil takes alittle longer to dry out but since I've watered the soil is still quite moist and it's been just over 3 days now. Is this normal for the soil I'm using? Appreciate any help
Jr
Poor video quality, too bad, Chen is great.
I think the one I'm trying to do I might be trying to achieve to much. Also I think I bought the wrong size pot.
I have bought two overwatered junipers in unsuitable (not well draining) substrate. They are curling and beginning to yellow. Should I re-pot straight away (end of august, temperate zone), or will that just add stress and I should put the existing rootball in some draining material in a bigger pot until early spring?
Do you not ship to the USA?
Unfortunately due to quarantine Law we are unable to ship outside of the EU.
Bonsai. Cutting the roots and trimming the shoots.
How to make bonsai from Chinese bamboo
Easy reduce the height and plant in a bonsai pot. To keep it small pull the new shoots out. I have a video on my channel, I hope it is helpful.
smart guy have you considered a tripod for that camera? the person trying to hold it actually gets me dizzy watching
I remember a wine sold in Japan called "Akadama" I think it was a Plum? wine
I got motion sickness watching this.
Phone ringing and tv in behind is anying hehe
swich off all mobile phones very annoing.
Noel Jackson that's a door.
A mobile door?
@@catabaticanabatic3800 that's what it is! Had one on my submarine when in the Navy. Our ' s was made out of a screen material, very hi-tech.
The acid was stronggg.
I thought I was having a brain aneurysm with the warping video.
Turn off the phone! Otherwise a great video
I feel like Iâm at sea
Somebody throw that phone in the toilet!!!
I love the vids but the camera work, the background noise (phone ringing) and ads are distracting.
Whoever let that ringing continue was so inconsiderate.
Great Master at work. What was that bleeping throughout!! Very annoying.
Pick up the phone mate....I'm tryna call ya.
great information. please consider have someone turning that phone off
it's their security sensor.
this video stabilizer gives me a headache
Shut that phone up!!
I love your videos, but you might want to take the phone off the ringer as it is distracting to what you are trying to teach.
Yeah great you tube videoâs..
On the back of these vids I drove a round trip of 120 miles to buy a small tree from Heron..
For ÂŁ100 I get a condescending lecture from a snotty impatient gardener (I clearly wasnât spending enough) and I take home a tree that ends up nearly falling out of its pot because it hadnât been secured with wire..
Told me it was 8 years old but when I repotted to secure it the tree had no roots at all..
I guess the apprentice prepared this one
Interesting. Peter has indian accent.
Master Chan, I admire your patience with the idiot and his ringing telephone. Some folks just have no manners at all.
I'm pretty sure that's the business's phone.
I put a slow release fertilizer in my bonsai for repotting I have been doing this for years and know many others who do the same and have great results, thats just my opinion please research anything before doing!
Between the annoying ringing and the drunken Camera, I need a drink. Too bad because the content was sooo good and informative, but the filming and sound was not.
That phone in the back ruins your presentation
That ringtone is very annoying for headphone users.
This video is *+"sQ!$Hyyy"+*
seriously that person can't silence their phone? wow.
Oh no. I cannot watch this video. I am only 1:38 into the thing and i already have a headache with all of the shapes changing form. Goodbye.
I think they were using a Go Pro which has serious distortion issues.
joe z
Does Go Pro also manufacture aspirin?
It's the noises that are getting me. Spoiling a good video
What is going on with this video? đ€
Go home video, you're drunk
Excellent information but a pretty terrible video. It shows more than anything that I need 15 years rather than 15 minutes to appreciate and absorb all this.
crappy video work.... :(
I couldnât finish watching with that phone noise in the background. So annoying
Horrible video. The video kept swaying back and forth. Made me dizzy to watch it.
The pop up half screen ads, the rocking backgrounds, the greenhouse ambient noise are an insurmountable annoyance. Beam me outta here Scotty!
